Jerry
After 10 days, I got a reply from GZ on my wife's name check. Seems they do respond to our emails, but not much useful information in it. Dear petitioner, Thanks for your email. This office receives hundreds of correspondenceevery day and handles them in the order received. We have not processedyour wife's forms at this point. Once we do, we will start a backgroundcheck on her case. Thank you for using the GuangzhouIV e-mail service. The Immigration VisaUnit tries to reply promptly to all inquiries. However, given the highvolume of mail we receive, sometimes our response can be delayed. Please bepatient and wait for our reply before writing again. Also, please try tocombine as many questions as possible into one e-mail. Thank you very muchfor your cooperation. The Immigrant Visa Unit Link to comment
lilybotelho
This is what my fiance received from GZ yesterday.it was about the same thing, there's nothing they can do before they get name clearance from DOS Mr. xxx The Immigrant Visa Unit cannot print your fianc¨¦e's visa without the required clearance from U.S. authorities. Neither the Consulate nor the Immigrant Visa Unit has any control over the pace or the volume of clearances. The IV Unit also has no way of determining the length of time any individual or group of clearances will require. Once the IV Unit has received the necessary authorization from the U.S., your fianc¨¦e will be notified to return to the Consulate to pick up her visa. Guangzhou IV Unit Link to comment
jameschun321
I have sent 5 emails in the past 2 months and have gotten no responses at all. Talking to a live rep at GZ is difficult but at least you get an answer to your questions. JC Link to comment
rfsun
They have been slow in their replies and not very thoughtful at all. GZ is always a cut and paste letter. I got the same letter as lilybotelho after 2 weeks wait. I almost forgot what I wrote to them it was such a long wait. Link to comment
ChinaRose
GZ did not respond to either one of the two emails I sent them. Sad, really. Link to comment

I almost forgot what I wrote to them it was such a long wait. When Owen and I met with Richard Adams at the Guangzhou Consulate on Feb. 10th, he acknowledged that e-mail responses are cut and paste. He said this occurs for two reasons. First, the volume of e-mail received. Second, the language skills of the team assigned to respond to inquiries. Link to comment
Guest alex062872
GZ replied email within 5 days, but that email just like 1125's "still pening", doesn't help at all. Link to comment
