I heard that some people that have recently received their green cards have their fiancees come to the US as a student. What is the intention there? I wonder how many others are getting their fiancees here while I wait.

when you started a k1 visa so you would not get a student visa here. they are already close the travel visa here also.

I know that there has been some discussion about adjusting a student visa to immigrant by going to Mexico or Canada. Since my brother-in-law did so, I asked him about it. The catch is that since April 1, 2002 if you are denied the visa in the third country, you cannot return to the US! Probably not worth the risk of being shut out.
