Try not to bother them as the are VERY defensive.

I think the little guy is kind of cute... :D He's the second neighbor we've met...The other one in our building is the sales manager of the development company...But I'm not sure if your friend can play mah-jong???

Like I said, he is VERY defensive. If you play mah-jong with him and you cheat him....well let's just say.. :alldone:

I NEVER would cheat at mah-jong Charles... And for those who have said that life can't be too exciting in a small city like Qionghai, Hainan I offer the following proof of the world-shaking type events we have there... :alldone:

A dog causes many curious pedestrians to stop in their tracks as it helps its mistress to buy a newspaper every morning in Qionghai, Hainan Province.

The dog, named A Xiong, is seen carrying a bag in its mouth with a one yuan note inside as it trots about 300 m to a newspaper kiosk. The dog is given a newspaper and returns home to place it by the bedside of the mistress surnamed Hua. Hua, 30, said her dog also helps to take off her shoes and does other chores at home. Hua has raised the dog for two years, and has refused an offer of 1,000 yuan for it.

So Roger, I want to ask if you care to have neighbors from TX. But I immagine my northern gal :cold: still wants to retire to Dalian.

At least it is by the water though.

Nice avatar.

hhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...where is that other post of mine about BEING IN CHARGE... :D but, although I was surprised to find this out, Texans are allowed on Hainan... :o But before you put your money down in Dalian I recommend you check out the winter weather... :o This coming week the Dalian highs will range from 41-32 and the lows 24-15... :cold: might I point out that this is not much of an improvement over Wisconsin... :cold: In Qionghai, Hainan the highs will be from 77-67 and the lows from 66-57... :D

Well no doubt I had been to Dalian before meeting my wife. Later spent the honeymoon there. Both times winter. I like it and got to see what it was all about. I like the industry as well as the water, so I was a bit excited to hear my wife loves it there and maybe wanted to buy a place near the water. I like the excitment of being near Korea and possibly some :D war breaking out :D . But that is just me. Of course I also like the SOUTH. I just havn't spent much time there, in China. But on the topic of your question... well it is interesting that you post this. I'm getting tired of the land mines. ;)

Dailian has the intel fab being built there, so maybe some good consulting to be found in that area. I think the Chinese Governmetn wants many new semiconductor to go into dailian. When i do retire i will need some extra work(money), so Chengdu area might be good for work - again many semiconductor there.

Chengdu has a pretty good year round climate...

It would be fine with me except for the three coldest months of Dec-Feb...The summer is not too hot with average highs for the hottest months Jul-Aug being only 84... :D
