tonado
These two days People have called DOS and found out that their fiancees have cleared security check. I wonder how long before GZ gets that information. Hopefully, it won't take 2 months time like the NOA 2 Approval information (cable from INZ to GZ). Link to comment
Guest bbridges51
It appears to be a "database thing" and that once the clearance is entered into the DOS DB, then GZ has access to it. However, i could be completely wrong. Brian Link to comment
rsun
I would think the government would increase the lines of communication for security reasons, but who knows, this part I believe is the "bingo" theory you mentioned Link to comment
skibum
I thought that GUZ has it before DOS knows it has been cleared. So if DOS says it is cleared, GUZ has it already. Link to comment
Guest elatedforexhilaration
Yeah, I thought GZ gets the clearances from DOJ and enters it into computer. The all DOS does is look in the database. Link to comment
vince
it seems that the place doing namecheck cables the result (a list of names) to GZ directly. Once GZ enters the name into the system, DOS will see the record as cleared (it must be a field within that record) Link to comment
Guest bbridges51
Vince, that makes great sense, but still seems backwards. If DoS can see GZ's db, then why can't they just enter that info into the DB on their end? Is it, perhaps, a way to get their attention or to have them acknowledge that the data has been transferred? In any case, we all know GZ is working overtime and that the new leadership has really paid off. Brian Link to comment

The line we call is MERELY a PUBLIC info line... i.e They do not make the calls, merely report it... The thing we do not see is the SAO office, FBI stuff and all giving clearances to "a" department of State, which then cable consulates.. THEN, the info appear on the PUBLIC line we all know to well Link to comment
