Changing name in Chinese Passport

I checked out the post by Don, and it would seem that I would need to extend her passport to change her name. However, her passport is still good for several years yet. My question, is what is the step-by-step process including fees, ect. that we would need to do to change her name in her passport. Thanks in advance.

"Visarite" looks promising but I don't know how good they are. I attached the lilnk. Sometimes it's best to let a service handle things like this even if it may cost a little more IMHO.

I didn't see any available info on the Chinese Embassy website.

Embassy services to Chinese citizens look like they are in Chinese

only. Have you tried calling your local embassy?

We had the same situation, my wife wanted to change the name and her passport expires in Dec 2007 so they wouldn't renew it.

 

We went to the consulate in Chicago in April. We needed the name change form, a money order, my passport, and a prepaid priority mail envelope. Seems the money order was for less than $40. We left the passport with the consulate and they mailed it back a week later.

 

We don't remember if pictures or our marriage certificate were needed.

Last week my wife and I went to the Chinese consolate in LA. We gave them her passport, a copy of our marriage cert, a US-sized passport photo and a form we got there... we came back the Next Day and paid $30 (express). I guess what they did was add an extra page at the beginning of her Passport saying she ALSO went by her married name (my last name). In Chinese it's called "Jia Zhu" or ¼Ó×¢¡£

 

I guess this will allow her to enter China with air tickets with her married name on them...
