I-130 Newbie!

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone, I am a newbie.

I filed the I-130 petition for my wife 10 days back. But, I have not received an NOA yet!!!

How long before I get the NOA? The check has not been cashed yet.

I filed with TSC and the do have the tracking receipt which confirms it was delivered.

Do I need to be concerned?

Thanks!

Welcome Zack.  You should get the NOA1 (P1) within a month or so.

Timelines are tricky and vary a lot.  Please see more timelines at http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19303 for a feel of things in this process.  Also consider adding yours to the database as well as part of you signature line.

Again, Welcome to CFL!

 Thanks!!

I assume the checks will be cashed before I get the NOA.

Are they still transferring TSC cases to CSC? I live in Dallas, any feedback appreciated.

That seems to be a mixed bag, at one point it seems all of K1, CR1 were being sent to CSC but I've seen some folks with TSC still in there timelines.

Here are some general stats for an I-130 filing:

As you can see they are averaging about 122 days right now to process this form at the TSC.

You are then looking at about 100 days at the NVC on average:

Welcome to CFL,

It took mine almost a month and it was forwarded onto California from Nebraska. My check cleared the bank the same day I got the I-797 in the mail. So dont worry yet..

I would only suggest that this average can have wide swings since the time is somewhat controllable by the USC...

VJ tend to use the "shortcuts", whereas most on CFL do not. SO I would put CFL average higher than this.

The CFL data bears this out with a 113 average. The few on this site who used the shortcuts keep the average from getting too high...

I got my NOA1 for the I-130 today in the mail from CSC, I had mailed it to TSC.The checks got cashed too.

But, I have one question, on the NOA1 (I-797C), I do not have a priority date!!! Its empty???

Is that normal?

You get a priority date upon approval. For a spouse it is the same as the received date but the priority date is not officially assigned until the petition is approved. They NOA2 will show the priority date.
