jemmyell
Hello, On the G-325A for both my SO and I we put NONE for File Number since we don't have one yet, right? And my employment history has an almost two year gap due to my staying home and fighting a life-and-death battle with my previous wife's cancer (I lost). My SO thinks I should only list employment, but I think it looks bad from a support view if it was involuntary. I actually am a semi-trained home health nurse, 8 college credits OJT. Anyways I want to list that as my employment during that time. What do you all think? -James Link to comment
castaway109
You can always either list it on the form or include a letter that explains just that. Then there won't be any room for doubt. Link to comment
warpedbored
This is not a job application. You only need satisfy the the requirements. If there is a gap in your employment it doesn't matter as long as you can show you make 125% of the federal poverty guide lines or have sufficient assets. Fill out the G-325 A as accurately as possible. Link to comment

jemmyell
Are you currently employed and have some money in the bank?165605[/snapback]Hello, Thanks for the replies. I like the explanation letter, so I will do that. I am sensitive to these gaps, but I easily make the support requirement. I am employed full time at a good salary, I own two houses in California, I have money in the bank and an IRA. Thanks! -James Link to comment
david_dawei
The gaps are irrelevant, as Carl states you either make the minimum or you don't. How would they verify your employment during those gap years if they really wanted to ? Stick to the facts. By the time you do the adjustment of status, you'll need three years past employment... maybe that gap is irrelevant by then (?)... Link to comment
jbray
To answer your first question, yes, leave the file number (or "A" number) blank, or put none... As far as the gap, yeah, it doesn't matter. I had a three year gap and it wasn't a problem. You just have to be able to fill the requirement. Link to comment
david_dawei
In principle, DON'T LEAVE ANY FORM BLANK... Answer: No, None, N/A, etc, as most appropriate. Link to comment
mercator
Let me reiterate what David said: LEAVE NOTHING BLANK!!! (its that important) Use the visapro fillable forms and the visajourney examples. They aren't bad though the addresses in Italy are MUCH shorter than the addresses in Guangzhou! I had to use the 'See Attached Additional Sheet' so I could fit my SO's address in a legible format. Its like 80-100 letters long, and 30+ chinese characters long! david_dawei
Good suggestion on referring to forms and examples.. here is the list from the FAQ on where to find these: One thing I don't like about the VJ examples are they show everything in ALL CAPITALS. I prefer to follow the convention of using Mixed case, except any LAST NAME is in ALL CAPITALS... consistently use on all forms... --- Q.2.2 Where can I see sample forms?
