My lawyer has me a bit confused!

 

Two questions:

 

1) Exactly what fees have to be paid for a K3 visa in GUZ (at or before the interview)? The letter mentions a "Immigrant Visa Application Fee" and the attorney told me this does not apply to me?

 

2) Has ANYBODY heard of an American husband or fiancee being called on during the interview for questioning??? My lawyer says this is a possibility if the VO needs or wants information the wife cannot provide. I have never heard of this being done.......

1) For K-3 there is a Visa fee that has to be paid at a Citic Bank it is about $100 US dollars

 

2) I have never heard of that happening in Guangzhou, but other consulates in other countrys do involve the spouse in the interview.

Fees normally incurred by the Chinese beneficiary’s steps, given in RMB

 

P3:

Translating various documents: 500 - 3000 RMB

 

P4:

Exam= 800 RMB; expedited service=100 RMB.

Non-immigrant visa: K1-4 visa is 830 RMB, per visa

Immigrant visa: CR-1/IR-1 = 3,154 RMB, per visa

 

Interview:

Biometric fee = $45 USD

Visa pickup=20 RMB.

Scott: It seems your lawyer has very little experience with visas from China. There is NO possibility of the husband or fiancee being called into the interview, even if he wanted to go!!
