Add us to the list been reading the site, but need the support. Have been waiting too long for this process - going for the CR1. Note we filed stepdaughter's later as we did not clearly read the directions. So we wanted them to catch up to the same point. It's been over a year and counting. Needless to say we are both anxious to carry on with our lives

Assuming the following:

1. Your case is CR1 (I-130 at Guangzhou) and not K3 (I-129f at Guangzhou)

2. Your case was "entered into the computer" by the consulate on 07/22/05

 

The prediction is:

P4 letter date : 11/02/05

Interview date: 12/28/05

 

Interview could be sooner if the consulate "speeds up" due to the new building. However, the earliest the interview could be schedule is in November, the October interview dates are already out.

Thanks Mark,

It is a CR1 process. That's correct. The package was sent May 27 but they didn't post it until July. Does the priority date matter? As we applied last July but waited for my stepdaughter's package to catch up (didn't realize she needed a separate I-130). You'll see my husband's priority date is early last year (2004)

 

I appreciate the projection timeline. I tried to get firm dates but they don't seem to reply that way. I even used the following format:

 

Tell me Date received _______; Date Entered into computer_____;

 

Etc... but they never respond concretely. Oh well. Just have to hang in there.

I had the same problem as you. When I e-mailed the consulate they would not tell me the exact date. So what I did for my wife's case (CR1), is to call the DOS and specifically ask when the consulate "entered her case into the computer".

 

The DOS visa specialist then told me the date. Even though it is the consulate who enters this information into the computer, the DOS seem more willing to give the information. Likewise when the "2nd namecheck" was completed.

Thanks Mark, I will call DOS again....I have called them but haven't gotten lucky in terms of any data they are willing to give- they defer to GUZ.
