Your fiancee will pay 830 RMB to the bank in advance of the interview. This is the actual K-1 visa fee. Make sure she brings the receipt with her to the medical exam.

The fee is paid in advance (see #1)

3rd... does fiance pay for a pickup fee? where and how much RMB?

The 20 RMB (I think) pickup fee is paid at the post office. Maybe others can give more specific info particularly in light of the consulate's move.

The Interview FAQ explains the fees and which ones to pay in what order...

The main confusion has been whether one can take the exam and pay the visa fee afterward or if it has to be included in the exam package or can people pay at GUZ.

All I have sorted out so far is that the exam can take place without the visa fee payment.. I also know that the consulate webpage states the visa should be paid prior to the interview.. but not clear if this means that it can be done in the morning at GUZ or not.

The basic steps most everyone follows:

1) Pay visa fee at approved bank

2) Have exam at approved facility

3) Go to interview with both.

What fees are there for the CR-1 visa.  I already paid the $380 for the visa fee to the NVC, but what fees will we have in GZ?

Your question brings up something I have thought about for some time. Details about the IR1 CR1 visas. Just like the illusive DS-230 Part II, there has never been much info posted about this process.

Do you think the ones that go thru this process are sworn to secrecy?.......

I know the DS-230 part II is in the P-4 that our SO's receive when they are notified of their interview date.

Carl, I think you are all set with your CR-1 Visa Fee because you have paid the $380. It was $335 when I paid our CR-1 Visa Fee, but my wife will have to pay a $45 visa surcharge before her interview. Her P4 notice only says to pay at post, but nothing about paying at a special bank like the K-1 Visa Fees. I will try to go to the consulate to pay it.

yes.. you can pay the difference at the post...

Beginning March 8, 2005, IV applicants who have paid the current $335 IV application fee via National Visa Center, but not the new surcharge, must pay it (RMB 373.5 or $45) at post. IV applicants who haven't paid any application fee should pay a total amount of RMB 3,154 or $380, on the day of the interview. – Guangzhou Consulate Webpage

Ok, Now I am really puzzled. Would someone assist me in sorting all of this mess out.

I was reading through the FAQs area and I came accross this:

A.1.22.3

Fees normally occurred by the Chinese beneficiary¡¯s steps, given in RMB

Translating various documents: 500 - 3000 RMB

Non-immigrant visa: K1-4 visa is 830 RMB, per visa

Immigrant visa: CR-1/IR-1 = 3,154 RMB, per visa

Exam= 800 RMB; expedited service=100 RMB.

Visa pickup=20 RMB.

A.1.22.4

Now, I was under the impression before reading all of this that My So only needed to take with her, the 800 RMB for the Medical, 20RMB for her to pick up the VSA at the Post office & 830 RMB for the Visa it self.

Now, when I filed for her visa, I had sent in about $200 USD & I thought that this would help to pay for some of her visa process. I am guessing that I am wrong.

Anyway, looking through the faqs, I too did not find anything listed as to When, Where, and how much to pay to whom At this final stage of getting the SO home.

Maybe it would be a great help to all of those of us hurricane Members this go round if someone who REALLY knows, to Share that info with us here or maybe pin it until the September wave has passed. Because I am sure that there are just way to many of us that will have the same questions.

Thanks

I'm going to assume K1:

You paid $165 for the I-129F 'petition'.. this does not apply any money to another part of the process.

Next payments will be for any translated documents you need as part of interview (P3 FAQ). 500 - 2000 RMB

Next payment will be for visa, 830 RMB, and medical Exam, 800 RMB. Expedited service for exam is optional, 100 RMB. Most pay in this order and do in GUZ. (P4 FAQ).

Next payment will be for visa pickup, 20 RMB (P4 FAQ).

---

This seems to agree with your thought...

If there is any payments during the morning checkin, I am unaware of them and would add them to FAQ if they exist...

---

If you think the information is just not spelled out clear enough, then I can re-work it as I stated above (?)

Ok, so what you are telling me is that in all, My So will need to take 900rmb & pay that to the Bank for her medical, & 830 RMB for the Visa office. Where does she pay that 830 to & when?

How does she get her medical all set up so that she can get it while she is ther in GUZ?

After that, will she need to come back to Nanning & wait for her Visa to arrive here, or can she wait there in GUZ? This is because if she gets her visa there in GUZ, I am leaving instructions for her to hop the next plane back here to the states & I will meet her hopefully at LAX to escort her back to NC.
