AOS Interview BEFORE fingerprints?

Wow, this was unexpected:

June 1st: enter USA

June 3rd: married

June 25th: our applications for AOS and EAD received in Chicago

Aug 26th: fingerprint/biometrics appointment

Aug 23rd: AOS interview!?!?!?!!

------------------------------

We just got the AOS interview appointment letter today.

Is it unusual to get an AOS interview BEFORE the biometrics appt?

Not that we're complaining, mind you!!!

Most likley you will get approved for the green card -BUT-then they will tell you you need wait for the FBI namecheck generated by your fingerprints so they will mail you the greencard in 5-6 months.

fhtb: Question, is your appointment letter actually the I-797C notice of action letter? There has been some confusion about if there is a seperate appointment letter and the receipt notice with the MSC #. Which is yours?

Thanks!

We have received three letters, total:

1. NOA for the I-485

2. NOA for the I-765

3. Appointment letter for the I-485

The appointment letter is very different from the notice of action letter. The NOA basically just says "go get your fingerprints done" and gives you your case number. The appointment letter tells you where to go and when, what evidence to bring, etc.

My guess is that you won't get an AOS appointment until you have made an appt to be fingerprinted.

Ahhhhh, Thank You FHTB!!! Now I have some idea of what's going on!!!

I was thinking they would send me an appointment to get the fingerprints done! None of the people I talked to at the USCIS non-information center could clarify this, in fact, one man told ne the NOA WAS the appointment letter (it does say to make an appointment@!%@*#+=%#)!!

So now that the biometrics are done, they will send an appointment letter for the AOS interview. O.K., I'll give them a week or so before I begin bugging them! :o
