When did Texas catch up with California

Recommended Posts

I hadn't been looking at Texas processing times since they moved our case in March. With this last update I looked around to see If I had messed up chosing to stay on the I-130 course. Which is beginning to look not as good.

I noticed Texas went from one year behind, to exactly same dates as Cal.

I also noticed the the 129-f jumped from 3, or 4 days ahead of I-130 to about 7 weeks.

I only hope I made right decision after I learned about the K-3. I have concern My wife will find me to have poor judgement.

Any thoughts?

You took the path that you thought right at the time. It always seems not matter which line you take at the store, the one you gave up for moving too slow always seems to go faster when you commit. Poor judgement is exercised by the one that fails to make a decision at all. Good for you and good luck. I too went thru Texas with my package transferred to California. One line seems to be moving faster now, and another seems to be moving slower. I know that no matter how long it takes it just won't be fast enough....

I think your wife will appreciate you are going extra mile by taking an additional path, don't underestimate her understanding of your efforts.....

I saw on a Yahoo web group post that Texas was only processing applicants from Mexico. That is why all others were transferred to California.

Unproven but that is what the site said...

One thing is clear: It is all very unclear.

These processing centers do more than we know, I am sure of that. I have read on Visa Journey of why Nebraska is the slowest and part of it had to do with processing stuff from Canada... So, that idea of Mexico is probably not too far fetched.

To go K3 or not is always the debate and gamble... lose some money to find out CR1s are faster, or do K3 and find that the CR1 is speeding up.

The only argument for K3 in my book is that the $165 (to file I-129F) is like an insurance policy if the CR1 slows down...

My advice is that the K3 is worth it and don't complain later it was a waste of money. If you don't like having a backup plan, then don't pursue it. If you didn't do it, then don't look back. Stay the course and work the process you have.

Either way, your goal is the same... to be together...

If you could second guess what was going to happen with this process then your looking at the wrong board, you need to be doing the stock market :P Then you would be rich and could buy a visa for your wife  Just keep on Keepin on :D

You see me going K3/CR1 , K1 is guaranteed safe bet.
