I think this is the next step for us? DS-260 email I went submitted the DS-260 last night. I registered at the link to setup an address for a Citic bank. I think I can just go to the bank I selected tomorrow and send Guangzhou the confirmation page, the email telling us to fill out DS-260, two cover letters, two passport photos of my wife, and my wife's passport page. I think this is the next step for us? Is there anything else I need to send at this time? Thank you

I am a foreign national currently living and working in Beijing. I am currently waiting for the further process from NVC. but my immigrant visa interview will be held in Guangzhou. In order to plan my trip to Guangzhou for my visa interview as I cannot travel out of Guangzhou without my passport, I'd appreciate if anybody could share some information on the following: 1. When the application is approved, normally, how long does the process take in Guangzhou before returning the passport and visa to the selected pick-up location/CITIC bank of the same city? 2. Is there express delivery/process so that I can get my passport and visa earlier? 3. Could it be possible that we get the passport back on the same day of the interview and the visa packet should be picked up later from the pick-up location? Please do share your experience. I'd really appreciate. Thanks in advance!

We just realized that when sending the passport and photos through CITIC bank, we forgot to include a copy of the email from the consulate with them. Does anyone know if this will cause any issues or if they will still process the visa? Can't believe we missed this and a bit worried now.

Dear all, After completing the DS-260 online. I went through the next step to register a location for document pick-up. However, when I go to confirm the case ID, I get this error: The Case ID that you have entered cannot be found. Please confirm your IV Case ID to proceed with scheduling your appointment. Please ensure that you have been notified that your IV Case is ready for scheduling. If you receive an error message that your Case ID is not loaded, please be patient and try again at a later time I made sure that the case ID is correct. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you in advance. Best regards, Julian

Hey all, I've been researching all night but haven't been able to successfully able to put the pieces together regarding paying fees at the time of filing the I-130 in Guangzhou. I also need to go to Beijing to notarize a Marriageability Affidavit so this question is probably also relevant to that as well. The Guangzhou Consulate website says that payments must be made at the time of filing either by cash or credit card. Is there like a cashier in the Consulate? Where do you go to pay? I've read about CITIC, but I'm confused as to what its purpose is in payment processing. Thanks for your help, all, you're all amazing. It's great how you've all been through the process already but stick around to answer naive questions from all us newbies. Peace, Jake

Per request, I've submitted supplemental materials to GZ via CITIC bank pick-up. Anyone have any idea how long it will take for the documents to reach GZ? We've been told to keep an eye on the ustraveldocs website. However, after we enter my wife's passport number, the message says "Your passport is still with post." It's read this way for close to two weeks now. Additionally, we were requested to submit a scan of the biodata page of her passport, not her actual passport. Thoughts?

So we heard from GUZ today with the case number directing us (actually, directing Chinese National Husband) to go online and complete the DS-260 at https://ceac.state.gov/IV I thought I would get it started for CNH, but something weird is happening. When I log in to the site above, first I get a screen that says: "The next step in the immigration process is for each applicant to complete online form DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application. The DS-260 is designed to collect information that is necessary to adjudicate your immigrant visa application. The DS-260 form may be partially completed, saved online, and finished later, or may be completed all in one session. Before starting the form, applicants should gather the 'Documents The Applicant Must Submit' because they are needed to complete the DS-260 form. To begin the DS-260, please click on the Start link below. Please note that the DS-260 can only be completed after the applicant's Immigrant Visa Fee has been paid." Ok, sounds good. But how do I pay the fee? Not sure. So I go ahead and click the "Start" link, as instructed. Then I get a screen that looks like this: Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application (DS-260) Application List for IV Case GUZ...(his case number) The NVC has received notification that the applicant will join the principal applicant at a later date. Given Name Surname Relationship Fee Status CNH's first and family name PRINCIPAL NOT APPLICABLE NOT AVAILABLE From this is screen, there is no way to move forward with the application that I can see... just a "Cancel" button at the bottom of the screen! I'm so confused. My spouse IS the principal applicant and there are no other family member, kids, etc. attached to this application. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what this might mean? Thanks in advance, D

Hey everyone, I've run into an unexpected confusion with the DS-230. I've searched and browsed all over this site, the GUZ embassy site, VJ, and Google, but haven't seen anyone else even mention it. Is this a new/unique situation, or am I just unlucky (read: haphazard) with my searching? Here's the situation: I filed the I-130 petition at Beijing on June 4. Ten days later I received the NOA2 (petition approved) with instructions, which tell us to (quote): " ... complete and submit the Document Submission Letter [we registered at ustraveldocs, and printed the DSL] along with the above requested items at the nearest CITIC bank. If you fail to take the action requested within one year, your application will be terminated." They also give a URL for finding CITIC bank locations but just my luck the page "cannot be found." OK, so the wife and I took our documents to the CITIC closest to our apartment, and the nice lady at the front desk told us she didn't think that branch handled these (doesn't ask anyone else or check), and gives us the address and phone number of the branch closest to the embassy. Fine. Then she tells us that the Guangzhou embassy is closed, etc. (it was only after this I learned about the move). Well anyway, my wife calls the other CITIC branch to ask about the forms, and they flatly told her not to say anything specific about what forms (apparently very strictly, like knowing what forms we want to send puts them in jeopardy somehow), and said only to bring the forms in a sealed envelope. So my questions, for anyone who has done this recently or can help: Firstly, is this right? Do I need to supply the address the forms are to be sent to? Which address should I use? (Can't use the return address on the NOA, since that's the old address.) The embassy website gives this address: U.S. Consulate General / 43 Hua Jiu Road, Zhujiang New Town / Tianhe District / Guangzhou, China; and says they will be open for service again on July 23. Do you think that's a safe address to use (ensuring the forms will reach the proper people)? Of course there's nothing more specific given in our instructions. I don't want to submit our forms to the bank if they're not even sure what to do with them. Could I mail them myself (EMS)? I emailed the consulate at the beginning of the week, but I assume they're busy with the move and probably won't see it for a while. Any insight, suggestions or verification would be greatly appreciated. (Sorry for the lengthy explanation. This is quite an annoying snag in our process.)

Hi everyone, I have already married once and gone through this whole process, back in 2010 (through DCF in Guangzhou). I since divorced and am now marrying my Fiancee soon. It is my understanding that sometime within the past 90 days or so the Guangzhou Consulate changed location and added the CITIC bank process. I have a few questions. 1: I remember reading somewhere that Guangzhou used to be the slowest and most difficult places in the world to get the marriage visa processed, then some ambassador went to Guangzhou directly somewhere around 2009 and things really sped up, does anyone know anything about this? I have two friends who in 2011/2012 both got through in under 3 months. and now it seems to be down to 6 weeks?! are there any charts, or graphs, that show trends through out processing times through different consulates over the years? 2: Why did they add the CITIC bank process? Where does CITIC bank send the documents they receive, surely they don't pass them back on to the Guangzhou Consulate, that would slow things down, not speed them up right(just adding a middle man)? 3: to me it seems like they have revamped the process recently as per this post on CFL, it seems that now the whole thing could be done in about 6 weeks?! 4. Can I translate my old divorce document (which is in Japanese), and my marriage book all by myself? will that be fine for the entire process (certifying marriage ability, and for submitting to CITIC bank)? or do I have to have them officially translated? and lastly, a kind of side note: 5. Has anyone ever included pictures of themselves and their wife having sex? it seems like that would be strong evidence to support a bona fide relationship Thanks a lot.
