  1. hello all, havnt been here in a long time.. My wife's son is coming up soon for interview in Guangzhou.. So my question is where and how do we get I-864 and other documents, tax returns, w-2, etc.. to where they need to be. Can I mail them to Guangzhou? Thanks for any help given.
  2. Hi all, I'd like to get a picture of recent processing times so if you just received your P3, please help me by sharing your time line with me. Here is my timeline: Noa 2 -- 11/21 thru text Noa 2 -- Hardcopy -- 11/26 NVC receives file and assigns case number-- 1/3/2019 CEAC tracker says "Ready" What does "Ready" mean? How much time is there from "Ready" to Guangzhou embassy actually receiving our file? Does it go from "Ready" to "Administrative Processing" to "Sent"? (This is where I am confused) And what is the wait time from then till I receive P3 on hand? Is there a way I can track when the file will get to the GZ embassy? What's the wait time usually, for GZ to send out P3? I am trying to set a wedding date but I won't do that unless I've received P3. If possible, can someone give me a run-down of wait times from P3 --> P4 --> Interview --> visa on hand? VJ is not supremely helpful in the post NOA, and respective embassy-followup matters. I am glad I have this place to ask for help! Much thanks in advance, Sam + Olive
  3. Hi, I just emailed the documents to NVC, I wonder if they send an auto response.
  4. Hi all, Just a quick question we wanted to get off our minds: My wife and applied for the CR1 through NVC from the states (using a stateside lockbox). Her interview in GZ is in 2 days. We were looking through all of the directions again and just want to make super sure (because it is very confusing) the following is true: If we chose to submit our documents electronically through NVC and had our interview scheduled through NVC, there is no need to send anything to GZ consulate directly through Citic bank before the interview. From the posts on this website, I figured out that sending documents through Citic was only for people doing a DCF, therefore not applicable to us. Correct? Sorry if we are being paranoid. We never received any instructions about Citic, but just don't want to have missed any important steps somehow. Many thanks! Gary
  5. I submitted the financial and supporting documents to NVC through Elecronic Processing (EP) and have received a new 'GZO' case number. I also received email notifications from the NVC that they received files from me and to allow 30 days for them to review the documents. I'm hoping there are no problems or checklists and that I get a Case Complete soon. I'm wondering how long it typically takes the NVC to review the submitted documents. I've read timeframes ranging from 2-3 months to just one week (EP case for MTL). Does EP make a difference in the time it take to review the case? Please kindly share here how long it took your case to get to case complete after submitting all documents, if you encountered any problems and if you did EP or mail processing. Also, how long after the case complete date were your interviews scheduled for. Thanks.
  6. Gotta love the NVC... Of course, by this time in the process, patience is a struggle. After paying the AOS fee and doing the DS-261...we wait, and wait....2 weeks...3 weeks...they lose your info...you give it to them again....and finally they allow you to pay them the IV fee. That's all good. I mean, it really isn't very long, but when you're antsy to see your sweetie, and you can't just go, cos you have vacation limitations, so you gotta schedule it for the interview time, etc...etc....you get the drift. Dang...where's the Cheetohs! Anywho, now that I have the IV fee paid, and the DS-260 filled out for Yifang and my stepson, the process of them reviewing my paperwork can start. They quote 30 days for review (assuming all is well). Does anyone have a good handle on how long it really takes? the reason I ask, is that, if it truly takes 30 (ish) days, and then I can schedule the interview, then there's a shot at the interview being before the end of the year. Vacation time comes into play here. if it looks as if we have a shot at an interview before the end of the year, I'll wait until then to see my honey. If not, I'll schedule it earlier (our wedding anniversary is at the end of November). Anyone have a good idea of processing times these days? Thanks guys! Warren.
  7. We have an approved CR1 case that is now at the NVC. The case number started with GUZ then several days later changed to a GZO prefix. The electronic process is quite confusing, and we're doing our best to muddle through it. We paid all the fees of course, but nothing is clear about what is happening. I submitted the financial paperwork to the NVC electronic address in PDF format, with the GZO bar code sheet from the NVC website on page one. The NVC acknowledged receipt several days later, and stated they were too busy dealing with terrorists and illegal aliens crossing the border to do anything more than say they would look at our financial paperwork later. The NVC website shows that the Applicant is to start the DS-260 first, however we did that a couple of weeks after submitting the financial paperwork. Can anyone here help clarify the process? Thanks in advance.
  8. I submitted financial supporting and civil documents to NVC by email 3 days ago, but I have not received any comfirmation letter from NVC to notify me that they have received my documents. I do not receive emails to notify that the emails fail to be sent either. I am not sure whether or not I need to call NVC to ask?
  9. Hello all! I think things are progressing well for me so far. I just hope that I can get through this thing without too make missteps! -I mailed my I-129f packet off June 13th. -They received it June 15th. -I received the NOA1 shortly after. Marked June 17th. -Case Marked as approved July 15th. I received the NOA2 a few days later. (July 17th or so) So these first steps seem to have gone well. Now I'm in a bit of a scramble to get all the documents I need to her in China before her interview. I know she still has a few packets and things to handle first. However, I just wanted to ask what is truly necessary. I've read some advice on other forums on what to do after a NOA2 is received, and some seems excessive. (However, I'm definitely willing to go to whatever lengths needed.) I've read that people basically suggest sending another copy of their K1 packet to the beneficiary. All the pictures, chat logs, letters,g325..I-129f...everything! This along with the financial documents. (Which people also seem to contradict each other on. Some people just send the tax transcripts and I-134 affidavit of support....others send statements, w-2's....proof of employment letters...proof of bank account letters from their bank.) I'm certain more is better than less...but this can get pretty immense pretty fast. I'm also really unsure what I should send when it comes to financial documents. I'm certain I make enough each year, but my checking and savings aren't exactly overflowing coffers at the moment. I'm slowly building savings now. I'm worried that they want to see fat bank accounts or something. The advice here has been really great and I attribute the luck I've had so far to the preparation this place has helped me with! Thanks again everyone who has helped. It truly means a lot to me.
  10. We filed an I-130 for my stepson 7 years ago. A visa should be available in about 10 months. Recently he learned he will have to move because the government wants the building he lives in. I was looking at the online change of address at the USCIS website but it seems to be more for if I move not him. After some serious head scratching I decided to ask here.
  11. Dear all, I have a question about submitting the I-864EZ AOS to NVC. From the instructions on NVC website, I think I only need to send photocopy of the I-864EZ AOS with sponsor`s signature to NVC? As it is said the original I-864EZ AOS is needed in GuangZhou interview.
  12. Hello, My wife case was completed in April and NVC still has not shipped the case out to Guangzhou yet... Yeah I wish I used EP. The NVC representative told me to go the PAPER path because back then the electronic system was down. I mailed the paper documents in and they completed the review in 25 calendar days. I got an email reads all document necessary was received and you will be notified when an interview date is scheduled and there has been nothing since then. Does NVC hold all the paper case for certain time before mail out to Guangzhou? I call NVC everyday and every time the response is please be patient. Thank you
  13. We are more than a week since receiving the nvc case # for the K1. No info. And, the CEAC case #/Invoice ID login does not work. So, just trying to be patient. When I called nvc back yesterday the woman told me 1) it was her first K1 and 2) we are supposed to contact the consulate. I am pretty sure that is wrong. I feel we are waiting for a letter.
  14. Hi All, Unfortunately, the paralegal made some typos when it came to my addresses and phone number. Also she provided wrong date for my marriage and answered No to SSN while i do have SSN. Do you guys know how can i fix that? Do I just email NVC to ask them to open the form again or I have to mail out a written request with changes that i want to make to them? Thanks
  15. The documents have been completed for 3 weeks, we are still waiting for the interview letter. Anyone here is in the same situation ?
  16. Hello, I am in the process applying immigration visa for my wife at China. We have got I-130 approved and waiting for the next step. Suppose our case will be moved to NVC and NVC will send letter to my wife (but not me?). I wonder if they are going to mail it to my wife's Chinese address, in English? by express mail or regular? I have concern that English address might not be accurately translated to the correct Chinese address by postman, then get lost. On I-130 form, I also listed her name and address in Chinese. Hope they could use it? Also my wife's address I filled in I-130 will become invalid after she graduates from college this summer. How can she request an address update? All responses will be highly appreciated.
  17. Hi, I was wondering if anyone can share a positive story about the time it takes for an NVC case complete to reach Guangzhou and result in an interview date? It seems that all I am seeing is doom and gloom, and I was just hoping us "paper filers" could hear about some more hopeful experiences time wise. Thanks so much, D.L. Aaronson
  18. I sent the documents to NVC through email 45 days ago, I haven't received any response. I called them many times, they told me they couldn't see it on their computers , but if I didn't receive any error email . it meant they had it. I have been worried about it. Anyone has the same experience ? Or you know anything about it ?
  19. Got this today from them- "The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on (last week). We are currently receiving an increased number of approved petitions from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. As a result, we are experiencing increased review times for documents received. We expect it will be at least 60 days from the date we received your mail before we complete the review of your documents. We will notify you when we review your documents. We are working to reduce these processing times and we appreciate your patience." Good luck to everybody.
  20. I emailed the documents to NVC on March 10th. so far haven't received any response email from them, I wonder they have received it.
  21. Hey guys, Need a little bit help here. Here is the situation: My husband stayed home taking care of his uncle for the last 5 years, meaning my husband has been unemployed for these years with 0 income. After his uncle passed away, he succeeded his money and properties. Currently, we are at NVC stage and we are selling the primary residence house to have the money in the bank as asset for I-864 because we are moving to another state after I get back. We also are getting our friend as co-sponsor who earns a very decent annual income. The reason we didn't have families as co-sponsor is either because they dont earn enough or they are retiring in a few years. Info abt me: young, healthy, BS degree in Engineering from a famous US college Our questions are: 1. Will the CO accept our friend as co-sponsor since he is not a relative of ours? 2. Is our I-864 in good standing? 3. Any suggestions? Best Wishes, Jack
  22. After 60 days I sent them documents, because of income filled wrong number, I had to sent then another form. I'm very frustrated with that mistake. I really hate to wait another 60 days. Is there any way to get interview letter sooner ?
  23. I called them today, it says NVC closed today . Anyone knows why ? I'm very disappointed at their work. Soooo sloww... .
  24. I got a letter from NVC. It says: [x] Item 19. Your ____________ income must match the total (gross) income reported on your ___________________________________ Federal income tax returns. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead I filled out that section with my gross income based on my W2. because I thought it's 1-864EZ form means I'm the only one sponsor. In 1040EZ , it's My husband's and my income together, we file joint tax return every year. Should I fill it out with the adjusted gross income of both of us ?
  25. Question: Will the interview package email or mail to me ? I sent my documents through email. Thanks.
