  1. Thanks everyone! I'm heading over to spend Spring Festival with Hong! I'll leave on the 16th. Two all too short weeks with my wonderful wife! Its been 6 months since we were together last, way too long to be apart. I pray that we never have to be apart that long again!

  3. I read the title of this and found it a little erotic, I find that more than a little disturbing! Damn I wish January would get here so I could see my wife!!!
  4. Silly me, I scheduled my next trip to China during Spring Festival thinking that it would be a great time to get to know Hong's family better. I should have checked with her first (I'm a slow learner I guess) because she tells me that spending time with her family during Spring Festival would not be a good idea as she is afraid that I would be subject to attempts to make me appear foolish. Now we need to find a place where we can spend time together and be some distance from her family (Note to self; ALWAYS check with Hong first on any matters concerning family or China). So I'm looking to my fellow CFLer's for advice on where to go! I'm thinking someplace warm, but any place where we can be together and have a few sights to visit and not be freezing or wading through knee deep snow would do. Keep in mind that it will be Spring Festival. We want to avoid massive crowds as much is possible during that time so we can enjoy our limited time together. Thanks
  5. I had no intention of meeting and marrying a Chinese woman or any other woman for that matter. It was a cold, snowy day just before Christmas and I was wasting time on the internet checking out hot girls! I was looking at pictures on Friend Finder and noticed that there was an Asian Friend Finder. I've always been attracted to Asian women so I decided to check out hot chicks on that site. I came across Hong's picture and was instantly attracted to her. She had this fantastic smile that lite up her face and I found myself joining the site so that I could send her an email to say hello. We've either written, talked or spent each day together every day since that first one. Its a pretty weird way to meet the love of your life and you can believe me when I say that no one is more surprised than I am. I guess you just never know what path life is going to lead you down next!
  6. I just finished "Oracle Bones" by Peter Hessler. Great read and a lot of insight from an American who obviously loves China.
  7. I recently was married in China and had to do the "single Status" document. I went to the Secretary of State web site and looked to see which office could do this service. I went to their office and had them make it official with a state seal. It only took a few minutes and I had no problem with the officials in China over it. Hope that helps. I agree that the wording from the Chinese embassy is unclear at best.
  8. Congratulations!! Pink is becoming my favorite color!
  9. Congratulations to you both! I love good news!!
