I want to print chinese words to paste onto my packet 3 supplemental information sheet but I can't find a way to do it. Any ideas??

Thats fine if you have an entire day to spend waiting for your number to be called. I always use the visa service because I'd rather have them wait for me. I spent one day waiting there and watched the people from the visa services repeatedly go to the front of the line because of the relationships they have with the embassy staff. Between the time I spent there not working and the cost of parking for a day I decided the visa service was a much cheaper option.

Yep sent in the I-864 the same day I sent the DS-3032 (separate envelopes) so I'm sure they have it.

I thought the whole idea of James' shortcut was to decrease the wait time between steps of P2. I suppose I could call NVC every day until I hear that the DS-230 was sent, but I thought maybe someone would know how long it took NVC to be ready to receive the DS 230 from the time that the $400 was deducted from your bank account. NP, whats a bit more wait time.

I just paid the fee bill for the DS-3032 online. When should I mail in the DS-230 packet?

Deny all applications filed by couples that cannot hold a basic conversation with each other in a common language. Legitimate couples will learn to communicate with each other and can reapply at that time. I think this is a good point although there is a lot of room here for interpretation on the CO's part. Is that the Kaifeng that was China's capitol 1000 years ago, end of the silk route and had both a Mosque and a Synagogue for the families trading from the middle east? If it is, it is one of the places I wanted to see. That's the place!! There are so many historical sites to see in Henan! I spent 3 weeks there last summer and didn't see everything in Kaifeng let along some of the other great places like Louyang. Of course, I was a little busy spending time with my sweetie! And don't forget shaolin temple, which is nearby as well. This thread is making me more and more excited that I'll get to visit Henan again very soon (after my fiancee's interview on March 10)! haha, this was an interesting problem -- I'm glad you were able to solve it so quickly... kaifeng is a beautiful place, by the way! lots of lights that really emphasize the interesting shapes of the buildings... did you get to eat their baozi when you were there? Kaifeng is my favorite city in China so far! Partly it's because I have so many good friends there, but it is a beautiful city that is easy to get around in and full of friendly people. I have had baozi many times. It ranges form very good to "ehhhh" depending on where you get it!

Damn!! It never crossed my mind!! I have our P2 ready to mail out to NVC and that's the one thing I am missing. I just called her and she doesn't have one Anyone have any idea of what the process is for a Chinese national is to get a passport and how long it takes? Is it going to cause her any problems at work if her boss finds out she's getting a passport? I hate to see her lose her job, one of us needs to work

I was laid off unexpectedly yesterday for an undetermined amount of time. I wasn't able to get a letter of employment out with my P2 (I wondered why they were taking so long getting that to me). The job market for my work is nearly non-existent in this area as is the housing market. I'm faced with the probability of having to move to find work and being stuck with a house that won't sell. Anyway, I'm unsure of what to do about our visa app. Should I send it in minus the letter of employment and then file a change of address if needed later once I figure out what to do? I'm assuming they will just send me a checklist of missing documents for the letter of employment once they get to that. I've always known that our time line is going to be suspicious to GUZ and that the probability of a white slip was high. My plan B was to get my TESL and teach in China. My wife and I are discussing that as an option as well, but there are many hurdles to be overcome (like my inability to learn to speak and understand Chinese). One thing I do know, life is a grand adventure and one never knows what lies around the next turn. Hopefully I can take lemons and make lemonade!!

I submitted it to the Chicago drop box and they sent it to California. It seems that it is just the luck of the draw as to whether it is sent to Cali or Vermont, but clearly, Vermont needs to get their act together.

Every American citizen has that right. Unfortunately your wife (and mine) isn't an American citizen. Someone who isn't a citizen of the US does not have the right to come live here just because they married a citizen. If our government did let anyone who married a citizen come to our country unchecked many people that you and I do not want for neighbors would try to find an American to marry so that they could move here. The system is not perfect, but anyone who enters into this needs to be aware that they may be denied for reasons they don't understand and they need to be prepared to make other plans should they receive bad news. My heart aches everytime I see someone from these boards get a blue or white slip. I know when Hong and I have our turn we may get something other than pink and our hearts will break, but we have made plans for that should it happen.

Thanks for all the extra reading guys! It's all as clear as mud right now, but after a few more read throughs I think I'll have it figured out. You know Hankster, that picture reminds me of a pleasant flight I had on a C-130 from San Francisco to Clark AFB in the PI back on the 70's! We had layovers in Hawaii and Guam. I looked great once I arrived dressed in my dress white after wearing them for 3 days and being wrapped in a gray wool blanket because the cargo hold where I rode wasn't heated! Great times!

I've just been reading that! I sent copies of original and kept the originals here. I think I have all the information they want though I may need to get one more passport picture of her. I'll look at Jame's shortcuts again tomorrow and start printing out forms and check what I information and documents I have and if there is anything missing. Do I have to send original documents this time or can I send copies of originals like I did with the original application?
