  1. My fiancee K1 interview.

    Hi All,

     

    My fiancee went for her interview in GZ with all the required documents. When she was called up to the window, after the polite greetings, the first words mentioned to her was that she had applied in July 07. When my fiancee honestly replied that this is a first time here from a far away small town, the interview told not to lie. Then followed by a few simple relationship questions and finally given a denial slip to go home. Of course she cried all the way home and cried for a few more days.

     

    I do not know what went wrong or is it a mistaken id or computer error to accused my sweet fiancee of lying. Since I know her over the 2 yrs, it was her first visa application and first trip to GZ city, she just barely got her passport prior to the interview.

     

    With your help, please direct me what option is best for her to succeed. Should I continue to persude the K1 or get married and apply for spouse visa? Will hiring a attorney be more successful?

    Sorry for the lateness but here's my timeline which I finally gathered up.

     

    April 2006 - Met fiance during a trip to ancestor's home.

    1/18/2007 - USCIS notice of I-129F & application fees received.

    6/27/2007 - Notice of decision - requires my missing G-325A plus $385. (my bad I mistaken left it out in the first place).

    7/17/2007 - USCIS notice of G-325A and payment received.

    7/23/2007 - I-129F approval and notice of forwarding to NVC.

    8/20/2007 - NVC approval and stated it will be forward to Guangzhou.

    9/??/2007 - Fiance receives K-1 package from GZ.

    10/??/2007 - Fiance returned all required documents.

    Late December 2007 - Fiance received interview date and reference #.

    1/9/2008 - Fiance accused of previouly applied in the interview opening sentence and given the white slip after a few short questions.

     

    I would wonder how GZ consulate gave her a interview date if they stated she had applied in June 2007? How they manage their database is a big question to me.

     

    At this moment we decided not to have attorney look at the K-1 denial case due to lack of finiancial funds. I decided to start over by getting married and go K-3. It will take longer but at best it gives us time to understand the whole process. Maybe my bad I rushed in too soon, too much confidence after reading others success stories.

    I chose to do the same thing you are doing although our reasons for the white slip may differ. Please read this article so you can understand what can happen. And as always let us know how we can help.

    Sorry, but with out knowing Feng's real Chinese name, I can't give you the correct Chinese symbol for it.

     

    And it is pronounced how!!

     

    try pronouncing like this

    "shung re quai la" -quai is like "Kauai-Island in Hawaii"

    hey all just a question.i sent my I-129F and I-130 in about 3 weeks ago and still i have heard nothing.im the impatient sort so i went to the uscis website just to see whats up.i read that because of the spike in the workload it can take up to 15 weeks to receive my notice of reciept,please tell me it isnt so.15 weeks just to tell me that they recieved my information?so that means an extra 4 months added on to the time i would normally have to wait.well i sure hope not,im still hoping for the best.thanks.

     

     

    Got to be patient. It took 5 weeks just to get the NOA1.

    The wheels of progress grind very slowly!

    Indeed, for the few of us who are filing for our spouse's visa directly through the appropriate embassy or consulate in China, the good news is that it appears the time from initial filing to the interview date is indeed about six months. We filed our I-130 in Beijing on August 28, 2007 and received "the" call from Guangzhou yesterday. My wife's interview is set for February 20.

     

    That would make it just under six months from initial filing to the interview: warp speed for visas. Moreover, it appears that the past few years' statistics show a 100% success rate for direct filings. Of course we hope that holds for us, too. We know all our CFL friends are also wishing us well.

     

    For those of us with the time, the I-864 credentials (sufficient income or a co-sponsor) and a permanent US residence, living in China and filing directly through the US enclave here is the quickest and perhaps the best route.

     

    Won't it be nice . . .

  10. I-129F Approved in time for Spring Festival

    I didn't know that USCIS worked on Sunday :lol:

     

    Apparently that touch I saw on Friday ended with an application approval! :yahoo:

     

    I got the email of the approval at 0915 am Sunday morning. Interestingly, Roger Lin emailed me within an hour of the approval! He has done a wonderful job for Xiaoyuan and me.

     

    I guess the real work begins now..... B)

     

     

    Congrats!

     

     

     

    Gives hope to us later filers that the process is starting to move forward. :D

    I am new to all the acronyms and procedures.

    What kinds of slips can you get and what do they mean?

    How do you know when it is "touched" ?

    2. Edit avatar settings, then up load a picture. It needs to be sized of it will not work, even though the sizer is on. Well at least some times it will not?? :ph34r:
