  1. Got my greencard is being ordered as of 10/30/2007 email yesterday. Guess the additional info was good enough for them. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I have the same problem. Currently do not have any kids or a joint lease/mortgage. I originally send them the following: • Two notarized letters • Joint tax returns for 2005/2006 • Joint credit card accounts • Pictures of us together (like 20 of them showing various vacations and special dates) • Health Insurance Card Got a letter saying I didn't provide enough information. So I send them the following in addition: • Brief explanation why I didn't provide joint lease/mortgage and then took 2 pictures of our current residence • IRA beneficiary showing my wife • Car insurance policy • Statement of 1 joint investment account • Statement of 1 joint saving account Hopefully this is enough for them. I don't know what else to give them.
  3. Hi, jello, I have been a frequent visitor to local INS Office lately after I filed I-485/131/765/130 on March 5, 2004. But up to now, I have not received Receipt nor any returned package. The INS Officer also told me that they mailed my documents to Missouri. I am so confused now. I noticed that you submitted your applications later but received Receipt early. I wonder there must be something wrong with my case. It is frustrating that no one can give a specific answer from local INS officers. They said I can only wait. Do you by chance hear anything regarding my case? I need to go back Beijing immediately, as my closes friend is seriously ill due to cancer spreading. ........... Thank you for reading.... emilian I got my receipt dated 3/22/04 the same day they cashed 3 of my checks. I also got a case number too with the receipt. In your case, I can only assume your field office is slow in sending it to MO office or something to that nature.
  4. I submitted I485/765/131 to the new york office on 03/18/04. I got a receipt for 485 and 765 from the MO office and a return package on 131 also from the MO office the same day. When did MO became the official processing center for those applications? Or am i just unlucky and New York district just decide they no longer want to process apps so it was moved to MO? Comments? Oh, the 131 return package said I need to file at the Nebraska service center instead of the MO office even though I submitted this to the ny office. Figures.
  5. I am going to mail the paperwork to the new york district office. I was wondering when you guys file locally, do you send all 3 packets at once or send it separately? I know some district will not accept all 3 but New york does. However, they have different mailbox for each set of paperwork. Opinions appreciated.
  6. I am about to send the paperwork to NYC office and was wondering if you guys send the instructions too or just the application (for example the big package in I-485). Also the BCIS website is saying send check payable to US Citizenship and Immigration Services instead of BCIS like some of the folks here say...which is which? Thanks.
  7. I am in NYC and could file AOS/K-1 at either NYC district center or Vermont service center. Iwas wondering which one you folks like better (if there is such a thing). Also, if filed there before, does either one of them require any medical documentation (read somewhere because she already have her k-1 medical..we don't need to submit any, but it depends on the location we filed). Opinions appreciated.
  8. Yeah that is what i thought too. But somebody mention here you need to bring the receipt to the medicial exam showing u paid the 860 RMB. My interview is Monday morning and I want to paid the fee before i go to GUZ.
  9. I know I have to bring all the stuff as specified in packet #3 (birth cert, police report, etc.)...what about the bank receipt fee? My girl is telling me packet #4 she just received is saying bring like 2300 RMB cash to the interview..i don't think that is the case but just want to be sure. I thought the 2300 RMB was a fee for other K visas and not for K1. Also, does anybody have any problem with bringing a bank receipt besides the GUZ branch? I told her to deposit 830 RMB in her local shanghai branch instead of going to GUZ and deposit as we need that receipt before she has the medical checkup. Thoughts?
  10. So just like everybody else here...i did my usual weekly call to DOS/GZ email and yesterday I found out my interview date is 02/09/04 after talking with DOS. I was so happy I was speechless...however, as I press for more information, I was told the second background check still have not been completed but due to the length of application and etc. they are going to do the interview first. I received my NOA receipt back in 01/14/03 before the name check process was put in place (sometime in January/Feb) so no background check was done and the application was forwarded to GZ. Long story short, almost a year now and I am getting my interview. The background check has been requested since mid November by GZ and one of them has come back...however, the second one still haven't come back and I don't know how much longer this will take. Worst part is we might have to go to GZ twice, once for the interview and another time to pick up the visa. Thoughts?
  11. I sent packet #3 back to GUZ on 09/18/03 and been waiting since. Unfortuntly, because when I originally filed in January this year, the background check was not done, so now they are doing it and I been waiting since. Keeping up with my weekly schedule of emailing GUZ or calling DOS every week, is still the same response...as soon as background check is done we will schedule interview.
