  1. thanks, it's a long ways back to her hometown. The consulates have notaries I wonder if they could issue a certified true copy (if the visa is approved of course)??
  2. Hi all, Is the notarized/translated Birth certificate returned after the interview? My fiancee will need one to apply for ID, drivers license etc. once here in the states. Thank you
  3. Beachey, Sorry for my late reply. She is 33. Her birthday is in February. Also a few years ago we were planning to get married but then decided to wait and at that time she got a 'never married' certificate which stated from date of birth. Of course that one is no longer valid but she still has it. So I think we'll bring them both.
  4. My fiancee got her certificate to show that she is single a few months ago. She has never been married however they dated it from July 2009 to present. Is that a problem? Maybe they will think she was married before 2009 and ask for a divorce certificate. Her hukou town is about 20 hours by train so no easy thing to go back and get a new one (she didn't notice until later that it said 2009). Below is how the English translation reads: """According to application and declaration of the applicant, we confirm that the applicant has no record of marriage or divorce from July. 6,2009 to present, This certificate indicates that the applicant has no record of marriage in our jurisdiction area
  5. Hello we have a K1 visa in process and she should be getting the P3 packet soon. What is the new appointment process (see below from consulate)? Perhaps they let you call and make an interview appointment (would be much better)? What is the new document delivery system? New Process for U.S. Visa Applications As part of the U.S. Mission China efforts to streamline the visa application process, the Embassy and all Consulates General that issue visas are implementing a new visa appointment, fee payment and document delivery system starting on March 16, 2013. These services will be provided to visa applicants by our authorized partner, CGI Stanley. Immigrant visa applicants who are qualified for an immigrant visa interview will be contacted directly by the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou with instructions for making an appointment. Please do not try to schedule an immigrant visa interview until you have been contacted by the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou.
  6. Hello, On the DS-230, block 44 it asks if you had assistance completing the apllication. Is that frowned on if my fiancee beneficiary does not do it completely by herself? The form cannot be saved and she has no printer. She knows no place to go and do it. So I have been emailing her back and forth asking her what to put. I will print and send to her and we'll put in block 44 that I assisted her. Hope that's ok?
  7. Thanks Dnoblett, Wow that is something to consider about the different status after 2 year wait. The 10 year permanent would be so much better.
  8. Is there a deadline to send back the P3 forms? Would like to delay returning them to have more time before going to the interview. Thank you
