  1. i know this is an unrelated question to the original topic, but if I don't get my statement notarized that explains why I dont have any tax records to show is that going to be something we could get blue slipped for? what would happen?
  2. how long would it take to fix if we got blue slipped for domicile?
  3. would it be ok if my mother scanned the bills I get in the mail and I used that?
  4. The address on the bank accounts is in MN where i live. I do have a MN driver's liscense. I do receive bills there but do my bills most through e-bills. The address IS at my moms house.. could she send me an email saying that or does she NEED to write a letter?
  5. So our interview is in less than a week and I am worried about proving domicile. What we have right now is the following: Bank statements showing bills being paid and american credit cards being used Bank statements showing wire transfers from China to American bank account We are both un-empolyed while living in China...? Emails asking to lease a business in America We obviously cant rent an apartment in america yet because we are both currently jobless. Though I'm worried what we have might not be enough..
  6. i have some questions since our interview is on march 7th As far as time is concerned which is better, picking up the visa in guangzhou or having it sent to our house? Also, the statements that were prepared and not accepted at the initial I-130, can I hand those in on document intake day?
  7. I was very suprised by it too! We had prepared ourselves mentally for a wait! I'm very greatful and feel very lucky. Question though.. im kinda confused by the wording on how much the visa will cost in TOTAL. Can someone tell me how much the fee is in total?
  8. So apparently when filing DCF Guangzhou is no longer sending P4s in the mail for CR1 applicants So today we received an email for the date and time of our visa appointment. March 6th! We are soo excited and all this has happened in such a short amount of time! Any important tips?
  9. I know you can buy UTI test kits in America such as AZO brand or walgreens brand.. but i'm wondering can you buy UTI test kits/strips in China? If so, where?
  10. when im writing the address on the mailing label am I suppose to write that in chinese or in pinyin?
  11. ok so i just send the OF-169 with the boxes checked and signed, the ds-230, a cpoy of his passport's bio page, and the mailing label? Please give me a yes or a no or tell me if I need more... the Of-169 confuses me thats why im asking people on here not just looking at the sheet
  12. Save for interview, the I-864 along with other required docs like police cert, birth cert etc... are turned into the consulate the day before the interview. Only thing from packet 3 that gets mailed to the consulate will be OF-169 and DS-230, packet 3 contains an I-864 for you to prepare for interview, and the instructions with Packet 3 tells you whet to mail to them. http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm So you just send the OF-169 with the boxes checked and signed, the ds-230, a cpoy of his passport's bio page, and the mailing label? Am I understanding that correctly? why does it say this on the bottom of the form then.. Enclosures: 1. Form DS-230: Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration 2. Form I-864, Affidavit of Support
  13. If was abroad for schooling, just note this or not working and how was supported. As for I-864, no your parent is not sponsoring you, you are not the immigrant. Your parent will be joint sponsor of your spouse who is immigrating. You will be primary sponsor, parent will be joint sponsor. Since you are not living at home and not claimed on parent's return, your parent will not be counting you as a dependent either. Ok so do I send these with the packet or save them for the interview?
  14. I haven't worked abroad so this shouldn't be a problem..? Another question i have, so when I fill out my I-864 and my mother fills one out as well (she will be my sponsor), do we send them along with the rest of the packet? or do we save them until interview time. (we are preparing everything now since we just got the go ahead to send everything)
  15. The times I worked part time were always short times (the longest being 9 months) and so i never made over 6k a year, thus I never filed. So with that said is writing a letter explaining my lack of tax records all I need to do?
  16. so I havent made enough money in the past 3 years to have to file taxes (been a student or just working part time) so my mother is going to be co-sponsoring. My lawyer suggested that I write a letter stating why I havent filed taxes and to have it notarized by someone at the US embassy, which to be honest im not even sure how to do. Any other advice for someone with no taxes?
  17. so as far as this stuff goes http://photos.state.gov/libraries/guangzhou/47024/IV%20p3/IV%20Instruction%20-Oct_10.pdf Am I included in this? When they ask for police records and birth certs. or is that ALL only for the beneficiary?
  18. so I have a really simple question about the Ds-230 forms for a CR1 petition.. Is the ds-230 form just for the beneficiary to fill out or does the petitioner fill one out too?
  19. ive sent the info but my question now is will i get confirmation? like an email saying they got my info and will continue processing my petition?
  20. ok so I had emailed guangzhou about this matter.. about a little less than 2 weeks ago and they replied back saying they had updated their records regarding this information. So i had put it out of my brain UNTIL I got this email today.. "Please note that we have received your petition from USCIS in Guangzhou office, however, we failed to continue with this petition since Mr. ****¡¯s mailing address in file is not in Chinese characters. Furthermore, Mr. ****'s phone number 0871-69081175 recorded in file is also invalid. Could you provide us with Mr. ****¡¯s mailing address in Chinese characters, along with postal code and contact phone number? Please send this information through web form at http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/immigrant-visa-unit-question.html" I'm really freaking out now T.T what will this do to our petition? Does it get tossed aside? This obviously screws up our wait time right? But hey at least we have a case number now
  21. dang T.T now im really worried. Is is possible they wont be able to send it because It's only in pinyin? Then they cant call me because I put the wrong number down >.< I really regret using a lawyer right about now... sigh..
  22. Some Chinese citizens are in fact involved, the Chinese POST OFFICE needs a Chinese address so that they can deliver the approval notice, Packet 3 and Packet 4 to your address in China. For example the US Consulate address in Guangzhou is: United States Consulate Guangzhou 1 Shamian South Street Guangzhou, 510133 PRC Or in Chinese: ¹ãÖÝÊÐɳÃæÄϽÖ1ºÅ ÃÀ¹úפ¹ãÖÝ×ÜÁìÊÂ¹Ý Óʱࣺ510133 Forgive me if I'm a bit naive in this.. I send all my mail to the US in english as does my husband so I wasnt aware that they NEEDED it, I just figured at best it was just more convenient that way. I just wish they would have asked for it that way on the form so I could have had my husband fill it out that way. Since they wont let him come with me or let me ask him via cell phone
  23. Nope, normally the notify by mail. The phone number is used sometimes to confirm mailing address. Again No Worries . Time to kick back and wait. Alright awesome Also.. another thing i dont quite understand. Something that else that has kinda been buggin' me is she asked me for my chinese address in CHINESE (because I had written it in english because I dont write or speak chinese) what i dont understand is why she could possibly need this.. considering I was told that chinese citizens who work for the government are suppose to have no involvement in case handling.. and seeing as any american working in guangzhou would speak and read my chinese address in english just fine. Idk maybe I'm being paranoid but after a bad incident I had at chengdu which resulted in me contacted my senator and him being very upset by what was going on there (long story) I was told to be cautious of things..
