  1. YEEEEHAAAAAAA!!!!!......Approval notice has been sent...hahaha....i was at work and get a phone message from my "SO".....she says she checked our case today and says there is a message..."Approval notice sent....what mean?"....hahaha...gotta love it...p2p2p2p2p2
  2. yeahhhhh.....i know....i noticed this after i had posted...was reading somethings in the contact forum and then thought to make an entry....just did not think about where i was at the moment....and yes...i hope a mod will move it to the appropriate forum
  3. Heck Steve, with all those trips to visit, time should be going by pretty quickly for you. Illinois Steve might as well move there!! I am jealous of all those trips!! hahahaha....i leave tomorrow night....and already looking for tickets to go back next year .....just doing all i can to make this thing go by quickly
  4. last weekend, i was informed by my "SO" that she had given me the wrong date of her previous marriage termination.....a seven year difference...i had entered the wrong date on the beneficiary information sheet...and i did not look at her divorce booklet closely for the date, just assumed she had given me the correct date from previous meetings with her when we filled out the paperwork together...i was livid....had thoughts of losing the four plus months toward noa2 and having to start over again.....we were both at a loss for words for a couple of days....told her maybe this is where the immigration attorney will be helpful....so i called them first thing monday morning....explained the situation...was told not to worry...as long as the divorce booklet date is prior to application, all will be ok...but said she will call the csc and tell them about the "typo".....not even one hour later, i checked to see if my case had been touched for this and sure enough, it was...funny thing is, i have also notice today has been touched again....maybeeeeeee....just maybe i hope, because someone have check my file, they look at it and will keep it out and process?....hoping..praying.....
  5. Hey jimi...don't know what to tell ya..just i can let you know what i did....my "SO" was having a terrible time trying to get the papers needed to file for the visa, and also was in thr process of getting custody of her children, so she had to do a lot of traveling....her old boss was a good friend and very tolerant of her missing a lot of work, but when he went to work elsewhere and she got a new boss, he told her no, cannot do the things, take the time off, so i told her to sing the Johnny Paycheck song to him ....told her that because she is to be my wife, i have no problem to support her as such even when she is in china....i told her she will be needing to travel at a moments notice, go to get papers translated and notarized, and because these are her last months in china, i think it be very good for her to spend more time with her family and friends before she and her children leave to come here....so that was when i gave her my ATM card and told her it is for anything she needs....and life has been good for her since...we have more time to talk, she has more time to use the internet to prepare for all the upcoming phases of immigration....so, i guess it is up to you as for how to do with your "SO"....hope my input has helped
  6. sure..i understand the need for privacy...just i was thinking that it would be nice to have a page that would list the locations for those interested in sharing this information...and for those who wish to retain their privacy, would be no need for them to let it out....but i did check the contacts sub forum and while i did not see exactly what i was looking for, i think it did maybe underscore the mutual desire for a page like what i am describing...seems many others are also looking to meet up with others in their area...thanks jim...as always, appreciate your input
  7. Hello to everyone at here....i just want to say what a great bunch of people you all are here....so many people always ready to help and give advise and encouragement to those who are experiencing the seemingly endless days of waiting for their loved ones to arrive.... Just have a few questions to you all again....i have searched here for this but i cannot find....is there a listing here in this website of the members locations here in the usa?....and also a listing of the china location of the wives and fiancees?....just i think it would be interesting to see where everyone is located...would help with possible meetings with others that may be closer to us than we think....my fiancee frequents the chinese 001 website and talks with some others there and i did not know if anyone here has a fiancee or wife that also uses the 001 as a resource.
  8. Make sure they can exchange these - they haven't been printed since 1969. The phrase "new and crisp" comes to mind. hahahaha....yes...new and crisp for sure...if there is any defect in the bill, it will surely be rejected.....writing on it,tears, or dog eared corners...have had many bills rejected for this, so always take the newest in best condition money you can get....what is really hilarious is the condition of their money....they want our money in pristine condition and then give to you what i think are no more than rags sometimes
  9. Can you recommend a good perfume that is admired, yet not available in China?? Seriously, I'm terrible at that sort of thing! (after I get the perfume, I'm going to Denny's to steal all the ashtrays, salt shakers, and sweet and low like the rest of the local retirees.... : ) ok..i tell ya..i took 5 different perfumes for her and friends....she and her best friend got to check them out and get first pick..and the one they both liked the best was "Donna Karen Cashmere Mist"....and remember, it must be in a checked luggage...cannot carry on....and one more thing...pleasssssssse...not dennys....classier places...private owner places that have the good quality merchandise hahahaha
  10. What's that for?? Best wishes, Gino & Lulu maybe is urn for ashes? ..just kidding corbin....maybe i just say what some others are thinking?
  11. and just i remember...books of matches from the restaurants, ink pens and pencils...sometimes the most simple things are the most novel...
  12. since her fathers passing, my fiancee's social life revolves more around her friends and when i go to visit, always to do many things with her friends..go to their homes and out for dinner and just to walk in the city and shop.....so many things at there, same as here....but, there are some things that you will not see in the china.....or are somethings that are sought after and the prices are too high....simple things that i have found are very popular are things like calendars(not from the mall or bookstores, but from places like taverns, places of business etc....and also ashtrays from same places and the women really like to get the very nice perfume....and another thing my fiancee' likes is when i bring several big bags of beef jerky hahaha, and her friends(men and women alike) also like the jerky too ......memorabilia, seems is always good....things they never to see or can get....just think about the kind of things you would get to bring back home with you...i like to bring the ashtrays and the glasses from the restuarants home with me...and they are always very happy to give to me or at a very very low cost....just some things to think about
  13. Dear USCONGUZ, I know you have tried to answer this question already, but i am still a little unclear about somethings. Seems each situation has its own little twist to it, so i will ask you now about my situation. My fiancee' has two children, 16yo daughter and 9yo son. Since the divorce 6 years ago, she has always had custody of the daughter. She has just recently (last spring '07) gotten custody of the son. She has the custody papers...the notarized fu yang quan...and has more recently gotten the household booklet which includes both the children now....my question to you is, will she need another paper from her ex to allow the children to come to here? or is the custody papers and the household booklet enough evidence for her to make the decision to bring the children without having to get the permission from her ex? As for her ex, he always seems to be on the move and is very difficult to reach for anything..going from job to job and city to city and has never really been a part of the childrens lives, having very very little contact with them...the son, prior to my fiancee getting the custody, lived with her ex-inlaws and the father only seen him maybe 1 or 2 times each year for only a few days each time and his daughter he has not seen or talked to in years....ok, i think i have given you all the information i can. i will be looking forward for your advise. Thank you.
  14. Blow off all the steam you want. That's what we're here for! The system is just what it is. Nobody can do anything about it except to hope nothing goes bad in their case. All you can do is hope and hope for the best. The only sure thing is, no matter how long it is, it will definitely come to pass. Hang in there! thanks....is always good to know this and be reminded of this...i am sure you have seen this all before...many times
  15. yes....the couple i have mention also have go through the VSC....but you know....is no matter if is california, nebraska or texas or vermont...service center to mean same in each state.....maybe they should rename the states from bad to soso to mediocre to good.....service centers should be just that....give service to the people...the same service...is same fees, so why not same service...sorry..it just makes me do a slow burn when i hear about how the system can be so unfair....do not take me wrong...i am very happy for anyone who gets the system going in their favor....is just i would like the system to work for everyone....maybe is just my turn to blow off a little steam over the inadequacies of the system...must admit i feel a little better just letting people know how i feel about it pounding it out on the keys of my keyboard
  16. my fiancee just informed me about another couple who have get their p2 30 days after to get the p1.....just i want to know..."How the heck does that happen?"
  17. I'm glad you posted this question, Steve. I looked at my stepdaugter's online case and WoW!...it has been "touched!", with a new date, October 30, 2007. The last time it was touched was June 29, 2005. I take this as a very good sign! Thanks for the question! No question is too stupid or embarrassing to ask. So ask away! That's what we're here for! ok....so let me get this straight...when they do something with your case, there will be a notification of this?...i have checked my case online and also am signed up for the email updates as they happen...and so far have seen no evidence of anything happening except for the assignment of a case number....and btw...i have one more question....what is a "RFE"?...just i have seen this reference at the vj site...but i can not find any explanation for this acronym...again, thanks for your help
  18. hello fellow petitioners....i am almost embarrassed to ask what i am sure is a simple question....what is "touched"?...i do not understand the meaning with this terminology....also...i have not called the CSC yet to inquire about the progress of the application....should i do this?....does it help?...and do you get any real report of any progress being made by doing this?..or does it just tick them off to have us bother them with doing this?....
  19. ...what?????...no chicken feet?????
  20. Hello Zack, Dave and Shenzen K-1......I also am another from Illinois. iI filed ours in July also and recieved case# July 13th. Is this what is known as P-1? I apologize for not yet editing my profile to show the progress of relationship as others have done, but is a very busy time of year for me and will do so when time allows. Just want to say that I think this is a very good forum. Very friendly and helpful people here, and a ton of information at the fingertips. I hope to soon be a more active participant here and a special thanks to all who have helped me here already.
  21. i have been there 5 times to see her since aug 06...and was there three weeks ago and already have tickets to go again in november....so proof of the bonafide relationship is not a problem...legal fees have already been paid....just wanted to know about the timelines and if it seems to be in line with others that have done this.....and also i am just trying to see how to navigate this website too
  22. Hi everyone...i am steve. This is my first post here and i am very unsure how all this works here, so please be patient with me. Just to give you a little background info on my situation.....my fiance' of course is in china and i have submitted all the paperwork to the california service center for processing and recieved my case number july 13th, 2007. I am having an immigration attorney handle all the paperwork so it is not rejected for trivial mistakes. I was told it should be about seven months from the time the case number is issued to the time she has her interview. Does this seem to be in line with what others have experienced?
