  1. Thanks I got the following information which is pleased me and like to sharing it with those who may have plan to go to Euro. with their hubbies ***************************************************** http://www.eda.admin.ch/content/washington...s/needvisa.html Embassy of Switzerland in Washington, D.C. VISA DESK This information is valid for U.S. residents only If you live in another country, please go here. Please select the first letter of your country : U.S. Green Card Holders: No visa is required for foreigners who have a valid U.S. green card (Permanent Resident Card, form I-551) and a valid national passport for tourism, visits, business or medical treatment for a stay up to 90 days. Both documents (passport and green card) must be valid at least three months after leaving Swiss territory. Please note that the passport stamp "processed for I-551" is not considered a green card and that general visa requirements would apply in that case. ******************************************************
  2. Hi Everybody: Does anyone here go to Europe after getting Green Card. Or Anybody know which agency is doing business for helping Chinese citizen to obtain Schengen visa. Appreciated fro the replying Sally
  3. It seemed that it's not so difficult for parents to get visa to here, my parents got B2 last Dec in BJ after we sent them all the required documents listed in website. But the officer of course ,wanted somehow to make a bit more steps for asking me to fax copy of my passport with my K1 visa page which I used for my entry here in 2003, so My dad and mom visited the VO one more time the next day and got their visas. Folks, did you ever read Chinese Daily(World Journal) here in Middle of Jan:The US embassy and consulates in China will issue 1 year long, multi -entry visa to those Chinese who is qualified for B1 or B2 application. So sounds even better and easier to our kins in China huh:P
  4. Folks: Phlilly district office is pretty slow for all the papers processing(EAD,AOS)
  5. Hi: Do it in NYC, as whole package AOS processing will result in several trips for both you , such as EAD picking up, finger printing, AOS interview. I had the same experience last time when choosing Vermont Service Ctr. or the nearest one--Philly district office, and I found chose 2nd one is right, as I avoided three times 12 hours trips by driving back & forth to Vermont, and save hotel & gas fee. Shot's report was not required when I filed AOS, still, we gave the copy, but keep the sealed original at hand for AOS interview. Good Luck
  6. Hi All: I got the cashier register receipt (just as the grocery store receipts)of AOS payment by time I submitted my application & my checks personally in Philly District Office. Then, I got printed, A4 size receipt from the office 1 month 11 days later by mail. But the receipt No. on it isn’t as long as 13 characters which website of USCIS requires for case status on line checking. Do any member here got the shorter receipt number as I do?? Also, When I was K1 visa holder, it only took 22 days processing for my EAD, now I am in AOS pending, it seems the office needs much longer time for EADprocessing(I have to quit my good job since it’s not arrived:(). I really admire someone here got their second EAD at the same day when applying green card.
  7. Tine & Ella, Congratulation !!! I'd love to see your cute baby girl's photos .
  8. *********************************************************** QUOTE (donahso @ Oct 10 2003, 07:42 AM) The doc's fee was $60 and the two shots $68. I opted to get them there at the time and take the certificate with me rather than take more time running around to get the shots and returning to the civil surgeon to finish the certificate. The 'extra' cost was worth the savings in time and hassle. We'll either get the varicella shot today when she sees her regular doctor or do the blood test to check for anitbodies. We didn't need it for the certificate and saving $77 IS worth a separate trip. If someone wanted to get a head start, they could get the MMR and tetnus shots (varicella is also a good idea) before going to the civil surgeon and just take proof. The cost of the shots would be cheaper, but would still be two trips. *********************************************************** Hello, Folks: Glad to know so many candle members are here in the USA and doing AOS papers as me right now, I have a question for K1 visa holder’s medical shot: So we(K1) only need to tell the civil surgeon that put MMR and tetanus shots, and ask the doctor fill the vaccination supplement, right???(As varicella is also mentioned in some post) Thanks donahso’s Post dated Oct 10 2003, 07:42 AM , I’d like to follow his suggestion marked in the last paragraph in the above MSG to get the MMR and tetanus shots before going to the civil surgeons who are only available in my neighbor city. By the way, is any member here did in this way successfully?? I will appreciate to be replied by any members Good Luck in America Sally
  9. Hello, Long_strider: Your experience is great, but I think both my finace & I misunderstood for our first reading about your instruction to get EAD first than AOS, as we sent our application last week, but we will do AOS filing in Nov right after our wedding.(we thought this can get EAD first than AOS) One question: You said you got EAD the same day you filed AOS, is that EAD a one year one?? you filed AOS,EAD together, since you pointed out the requirement for a certain day to get EAD, so you got EAD first before handing AOS appliaction form?? Do I understand correctly this time?? Your prompt reply will be appreciated Sally
  10. Hello, Yanhua: Thanks for your recipee. I just got headache how to cook different meal for my honey every day:) I arrived here one week later than you, there are some coincidence , we will travel to LV for wedding as well(we will hold a big celebration with both sides' family members next spring), yes, the driving license, job what ever... all are piling there to be dealed. By the way, did you get your EAD?(I followed a member here to apply it before AOS) Or it's pity I don't have such fun as you got for buying Chinese commodity in my nearby supermarket, I am looking for going to NJ this weekend to get a rice cooker plus a steamer attaching by a hour driving done by my fiance. Anyway, I do enjoy American shopping mall, food store here. Have a Fun every day Sally
  11. Hi, I am so glad to tell every members that I got visa now two days ago, Thanks CFL¡¯s help for guiding us to track my case during my long waiting for P4,specially thanks to Yanhua, Tunger88, Tparrent who gave me direct help by PM. My experience for interview as follows: >>There is no point for queuing outside the Consulate too earlier during three steps(Submitting documents, Interviewing & getting visa), as GZ arranges those three processes by fixed hours with certain group of applicants. eg. If your appointment is marked 9:30am, the security guard won¡¯t let you joining the 8:30¡¯s group in, and it¡¯s unnecessary for you suffering sunbeam¡¯s hunt if your time isn¡¯t up, the same as the afternoon¡¯s interview, the shorter waiting outside, the good presentation will be made inside. >>No more bags¡¯ keeping service inside the Consulate, so do remember not using any other bag except plastic one to carry all the papers & documents, pen,handphone/umbrella are also not brought in, you will be caught to outside for storing even if you are already inside interviewing room by only wearing women¡¯s small handbag. >>If you want make yourself comfortable, for K1 case, you only need to bring filled P4 forms, visa applicant¡¯s notary papers(marriage status/no crime/birth), visa fee receipt & medical report in the morning of the interviewing day, while as in the afternoon of the same day, then you use your full strength to carry as much as you can with the proof of relationship to the VO. >>The highlight part is answering question raised by VO, from the records I got from 001 previously & those a few I experienced, the questions are always as follows: Who petitioned you? How do you get to know?Where does he live and work? How many times did he come back to visit you? What¡¯s his telephone No. But I got one more: what is his company¡¯s business? My experience told me: if you can answer those questions in English without any hesitation, you will be approved , refer to paper material: I-134 & phonelong were required by my VO. Thanks again CFL, thanks for the organizer for let us know each other and sharing all the bitter & sweet together, Dan & I are really enjoying here, we will depend on it¡¯s guide for Sally¡¯s further document processing in USA. Wish all the petitioners & applicants are together soon. Sally & Dan

  14. Does anyone here get the idea of International Health Certification? I saw a lady in GZ Medical Exam centre took hard to ask the doctors to photocopy all her medical report and then stamping on each page, then she needed taking all these papers to other authority for getting her health Certi. to be issued. She told me it should be showed to Customs Officer of POE?Any K1 visa holder had this experience?? Appreciated to be responded Sally
