  1. Hi, I would like to ask if anyone has mailed their I-751 application to Vermon Service Center via FEDEX express? Per Fedex, they cannot mail to a P.O. Box; however, there are both a P.O. Box (P.O. Box 200) and an address (75 Lower Welden St.) on the address line for USCIS Vermont Service Center. So, does it mean to say it should be okay that it is mailed via Fedex? I hope someone can help me with this ASAP. Thanks.
  2. 1. YES can be typed and then signed infornt of a notary, does not need to be is an envelope. 2. Past two years showing joint filing, and should be current returns (2008 is current year), I ordered transcripts and sent the transcripts, not returns. NOTE: Send photo copies of these things and keep the originals filed in a safe place. Thanks very much for your rely! However, I thought ltr from friends need to be original right?
  3. Hi All, I am in the process of collecting everything for the I-751 filing. I have some questions as follows that would like to ask all friends here: 1. I-751 form, part IV, spouse information: I am a US citizen, so do I still need to provide my A#? Should I provide the number on my citizenship paper instead? 2. Letter from friends: Should those letters be in hand written? Can they be printed from Word and with my friend's signature at the bottom and then get notorized? Also, do they need to be mailed to us or it can be simply a piece of paper? 3. Tax return: Does it require the past 2 years of tax returns or just the most recent one? If anyone can answer my questions, I will really appreciate that. Thanks!
  4. Hi, I am in the process of filing I-751, so would like to seek some help from you guys: 1. ltr from friends: does the letter need to be hand written? Can it be printed from word and signed by my friends? They need to be notorized right? 2. tax return: do I need to submit the past two years of tax returns or the most recent one? Tks and good luck to all!
  5. Thanks David for this helpful thread. I have the following questions: 1. Ltr from friends: Should this letter be hand written? Can it be written in word, printed, and then signed by my friends? Also, do they need to be mailed to us (with envelope) or simply just need to be a piece of notorized paper? 2. Tax return: does it need to the most current tax return or the past two years tax returns?
  6. All right. Just want to make sure: My husband needs to file I 751 90 days prior to the expiration of his 2-yr green card. He can't file it earlier than that. This form considers both the removal of condition and application of 10-yr green card. There is no separate application needs to be filed for that 10-yr green card. So he should be treated as LPR now since he got his 2-yr GC. Thank you everyone!
  7. Thank you guys. So, how about 10 yr green card. Will that come after 2 years? Or we need to fill out another application to renew it? How about after 2 years, his 2-yr green card expires while the 10-yr one hasn't come?
  8. Hi all, My husband just received his 2-yr green card. Now I have several other questions: 1. What is actually the different between 2-yr green card and those normal 10-yr green card? Does he consider lawful resident? If he wants to go to college, does he consider international student or lawful resident? 2. He applied his SS card right after he came here, so there's a note on his card saying sth like authorized to work with legal evidence. Now he received his 2-yr green card, does he need to go to the social security office and get a new one? 3. Same thing as above, he got his learner permit by submitting his EAD, so the learner permit shows an expiration date when his EAD is expired. Now he got his green card, should he go to DMV office and have them issue another new one? I have read several other posts regarding I-751 removal of status. Does it relate to renewal of green card before it expires in 2 years? Thank you very much.
  9. I have no idea what's going on with USCIS...... My husband entered into US thru K-1. As is informed, we just need to submit I-693A. However, after waiting for 4 months, we got a notice today that request him to submit the original DS-2053 (which was given to the custom when entering into the US) or HAVE THE MEDICAL EXAM AGAIN! Basically the reason for that is no medical exam could be located. We are living in NY. Anyone else has the same case? I guess we 99% will end up having another medical exam, which is really ridiculous!
  10. You did not state if you got your ssn#?? In Illinois it is temporary if you do not have your ssn# yet!! He got his SS# and EAD. So anyone in NY knows how it works here?
  11. If his license shows an expiration date, the license will expire on that date. He will need a green card or EAD and the new expiration of the DL will most likely be set to the same expiration date - i.e., his EAD or green card and driver's license will most likely show the same expiration. Likewise with the I-94. It seems more and more that they key the friver's license to expire at the same time as the legal presence. A K-1 90 day I-94 may not be enough to get a license. Laws vary by state, so check your own regulations to be sure. So that means he needs to renew his EAD before it gets expired so he can have a valid driver license by then.
  12. Hi all, My husband came in the US with k-1 visa and currently in the process of adjusting the status. We are living in NY. He got the learner permit showing "Temp. Visitor Exp. 11-18-08" (the same exp. date as what's on his EAD). Does it mean if he doesn't get his green card before that date, he needs to renew his EAD in order to have a valid driver license? Anyone here has a similar case? I heard the process is slowing down these days due to the increasing number of applicants. So I am worried about what if he doesn't get his green card before 11/18, does he need to renew the EAD? Normally how long does it take to renew it then? Tks.
  13. I have a follow-up question. My husband just got his learner permit but showing "temp. visitor exp: 11-18-08" (same as the expiration date on the EAD). Does it mean he needs to have a renewed EAD before it gets expired if he doesnt receive the green card before that? If not, can he still drive?
