  4. After your parents successful interview they will be directed by the consulate officer to pay an EMS fee. At that time, they can choose to have their passports mailed to either of the cities listed on the GUZ website. See link below: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/visa_issuance.htm Because we do not live in one of those cities, Jingjing and I mailed her passport to the Yangs (in-city delivery 30 RMB) and after the Yang's received it, they put our unopened EMS package into another parcel and mailed it to us. We've had no problems doing it this way. We just checked the EMS website and it's on it's way to Wuhan - we should have it in our hands sometime on Monday. If you choose to have your passport mailed in-city, whoever lives at that business or residence must have the EMS slips that the post office will give your parents at the time when they pay for the delivery fee. If you give the EMS slips to someone so that they can accept their EMS package on your parents behalf, I would FIRST write down the EMS number so you can track it yourselves. Just a thought: Even if you don't stay at the Yang's, I sure they would still be willing to accept their EMS package and mail it to them in a second EMS package. They Yangs charge 300 RMB for this service (For Jingjing only). I'm not sure if the price would be more for both parents. You can always call them and ask if that would be possible - if, you feel that would be a direction you'd like to go. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...4102&st=165 Hello Kyle, I really appreciate your prompt response! You mentioned about the EMS Slips: ............ If you choose to have your passport mailed in-city, whoever lives at that business or residence must have the EMS slips that the post office will give your parents at the time when they pay for the delivery fee. If you give the EMS slips to someone so that they can accept their EMS package on your parents behalf, I would FIRST write down the EMS number so you can track it yourselves. ............... What's the purpose of the EMS Slips? I guess we can track it with the tracking number on the EMS Slips. My relative have to have the EMS Slips so that he can accept the package, am I right? After he accept the package, he need to mail the unopened package to my parents with another EMS Parcel, is it correct? Thank you again! Hailong
  5. Hello Kyle, Thank you for your post! I have some questions: Is the Health Center above authorized by US GuangZhou Consulate for Medical Exam and Immunization? You mentioned "Notarize some stuff", what stuff you are talking about? DO you think it is enough time for 2 days to go to Health Center for Medical Exam and Immunization, and the third day for interview? Thank you and good luck! Yes, ¹ã¶«¹ú¼ÊÂÃÐÐÎÀÉú±£½¡ÖÐÐÄ can administer immunizations with your medical exam. I went to American Citizen Services and had my relationship letter notarized. At that time, I also had passport pages added to my passport. We were able to finish the medical exam and immunizations in one day. This is no problem assuming that you get to the hospital during the MORNING. Jingjing arrived to the hospital at 10:00 AM and arrived back to our room at around 5:00 PM. All of this was done on the Monday before our interview; our interview was on Wednesday. Actually, Jingjing did her medical exam at http://www.unitedfamilyhospitals.com/gzindex.asp and in the afternoon the hospital provided a taxi service to Guangdong Int. Travel for the immunizations. If you want more information about Jingjing's medical exam, you can read our post. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...mp;#entry526766 Thank you so much Kyle for your detail explanation! It's very helpful! Best wishes! Hailong
  6. Hello there, I received email from NVC informing me my parents interview date will be Dec. 21, 2009. It is pretty short. My parents need to have their Vaccination and Medical Exam done before Dec. 21. It may take weeks for them to receive the appointment letter. It maybe too later to have their Vaccination and Medical Exam then. I would like to let my parents get their Vaccination and Medical Exam done instead of waiting for the appointment letter. What documents do my parents need to bring for their Vaccination and Medical Exam? Thank you very much! Hailong
  7. Hello there, My parents are going to GUZ from Shandong for their IR5 interview. I have a relative working in Guang Zhou, is it possible to have him go to GUZ to pickup my parents passport if my parents pass the interview? If not, how to let GUZ mail to my relative? Thank you very much! Hailong
  8. Hello there, My parents will go to GUZ for their interview. Which hotel near GUZ do you recommend? Thank you so much! Hailong
  9. Hello there, My parents will go to GUZ for their IR5 visa on Dec. 21, 2009. 1. What kind of documents do my parents need to bring with them? Does anyone have a checklist? 2. What kind of questions will VO ask about for IR5 visa? Thank you very much! Hailong
  10. Hello Kyle, Since the Health Care Center of Guangdong International Travel can do both vaccination and medical exam, why do you go there? Is it two far from Yang's? Thank you! Hailong

  12. A question there also - do they specify somewhere that it should be a pdf file, or would a jpeg or other format work also? I believe I read that they will accept ONLY PDF files-no other format. See this link for more info: http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4409.html However, I have a question of my own if someone can answer it...We've emailed to OPTIN for the electronic processing for our CR-1 in Guangzhou, and attached our DS-3032 to the email as was directed. Now, we haven't received any confirmation email back, or our new electronic processing case number which should start with GZO. Do we wait until we get that new case number to email our documents like the I-864 and tax returns, etc., before we email the documents, or can we begin emailing the documents now while using the old case number. Our AOS and IV fees have already been confirmed as paid. Thanks, Splinterman Splinterman, This is not really an answer ... just the way I did it. I opted in and waited to e-mail anything until I heard from them. After a while I went to the USCIS website to check my reciepts for fees already paid and found I couldnt log in ... I called them up and they told me I had a new GZO case number. Thats why I couldnt log in. A few days later my e-mail confirmation with my GZO number came. I'd say maybe give them a call. It will come, its just a matter of how long they take to get it to you. Hope this is some help to you. Hi Splinterman, Have you got new case number starting with GZO? it took me about 13 business days even though I called them a couple of times. I agree with Appaullo's suggestion. I opted in Electronic processing, and paid AOS fee with the old GUZ number, and waited for the new GZO number. One day ( 13 days after I opted into the electronic process) I could not log in to the system to check the fees ( that's good thing) I called NVC, they told me my new case number, even though now I have not received email about the new case number. I checked my AOS Document Cover Sheet is also converted to GZO from GUZ number. That' really good. During the waiting period, you may work on the documents, such as birth cert, marriage cert, police cert etc., because these docuemnts may take pretty much time. Best wishes! An update to what happened with our petition is that I never received any information from the NVC on our change of case number. I ended up calling the NVC to find out this info. Once I had the new case number starting with GZO I began emailing our documents to the NVC. I sent several emails to them, none of them being compressed or ZIP files. I labeled each of them as Petitioner or Beneficiary documents. In the body of the emails I made sure our case number, names, dates of births were there and also a description of the files that were attached. For my wife, I sent them her birth certificate, marriage certificate, her one previous divorce certificate, a copy of her passport biographics page, her police certificate and a simple passport-type photo of her. All of her documents also had English translations. For my documents I emailed them copies of my previous divorce certs, my birth certificate and the I-864 and supporting documents. That was it from my end. All attached files were in PDF format as that was what they specificed. I called the NVC about one week later to make sure everything was received and the operator told me that I would be getting an email from them telling me that I needed to send them a P3 Supplemental Information Sheet to complete our file. I got the email from them the following day with that info and a link where to find it, but by then I had already found it, completed a copy and emailed it to my wife for her signature, and she emailed it back to me. Their email came with a cover sheet that they specified had to be returned with the P3 form, so I followed their instruction and sent it back to them. I noticed that in the bottom corner of their cover sheet there were someone's initials and I assume they belong to the caseworker for our case. I sent it back to them about 2 weeks ago and heard nothing from them, so I called the NVC on Monday 2 Nov and the operator told me they had received it but had not applied it to the case yet. She also told me that they usually take one day out and do nothing but process email submissions, so check back with them next Monday. That's where it is at the moment. Make sure your beneficiary has an original signed copy of the P3 form AND that document cover sheet that came with the email request from the NVC for that form, and that they take ALL of them to their interview! A friend who is also going through this process said that it took the NVC about 4 weeks to process everything and then a few more days after that for the NVC to give him their interview date in an email. The NVC seems to be really slow about sending out email status reports or RFI's-it's faster to call them and ask the operator to check on your case than to simply wait for them to email you. One last question somebody had that I saw in a previous posting regarding the electronic processing, is that you cannot start emailing any documents to them until you've gotten the new GZO number AND you send the OPTIN email request. You need that GZO number to place into your OPTIN request, and it MUST go into the Subject line of the email for the NVC to be able to quickly identify it. Once you get the confirmation email from the NVC on the electronic processing acceptance, you can THEN begin sending them your documents. I don't think it matters how many emails you send them with your documents, as long as you ensure that your GZO number is somewhere in the body or subject line of each email so your case is readily indentified. Hope this helps. Hello splinterman, You said: "Make sure your beneficiary has an original signed copy of the P3 form AND that document cover sheet that came with the email request from the NVC for that form, and that they take ALL of them to their interview!" is it "Packet 3 Supplemental Information Sheet"? May I email it with all DS-230 and supporting documents together to NVC? Best wishes! Yes it is, and yes you may email it with the DS-230 and other documents to the NVC. Just make sure your hunnie has an original copy of the form when they go to their interview. I had emailed my wife the form and also placed the questions on a 2nd sheet of paper so there was more room for her to write her answers. Then I told her to sign and date the form and scan and email it back to me, but to keep the one she had safe because she will have to exchange it for the copy of this form I was snail mailing to her with all the other documents that she will need to take to her interview. Once you have submitted all the forms and the NVC processes them into your file you will receive this email: Dear Sir/Madam: All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified. The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa. The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview. Regards, NVC Document Review Team National Visa Center Serco Inc, Support Contractor NVCGuangzhou@state.gov Hello Splinterman. Thank you so much for your update! How many days did it take to get the above letter from NVC after you submitted all documents. Thanks a lot! Hailong

Make sure that when you print the receipts for these payments, you are printing the receipt showing that the particular bill is PAID!!! Don't print the one showing that the payment is In Process!! Your beneficiary MUST have these receipts with them at the time of their interview, so make sure you print the receipt at the right time and it shows the fee is PAID! 16. Once you have paid the fees, you can send the documents. I sent the I-864 with supporting documents. Then later sent the I-230 with Civil Documents as we were waiting for some documents from China. They sent me a friendly reminder telling me they were waiting for the I-230. So they never send you an initial confirmation about sending the documents. They just expect to see them after your payment has been made and you can print the coversheet. Hello C4Racer, I am so glad to hear from you again! Thank you so much for all of your help! I will go ahead email them then. C4Racer, I have three more questions: First question: How did you organize and email your documents to NVC? Did your create only ONE single PDF file by merging all documents together, or attached each of the individual files to your email? or zipped each of the individual files to one file and email to NVCGuangzhou@state.gov? Second question: From http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html 5. Review the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General-specific information. After I selected GZO -China, Electronic Processing, I got a file titled " U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou, China Packet 3 Supplemental Information Sheet", I need to fill out this form and got it signed, scanned and email to NVC with other documents, am I correct? In addition, it looks like this is a Supplement to Packet 3, Where can I get Packet 3? Third question: Who will receive interview appointment letter, is Applicant, Petitioner/agent or both, is it by email or by mail? How long did it take for you to receive interview appointment letter after you emailed all AOS, Applicant's forms and supporting documents to NVC? Sorry I have so many questions. Best wishes to your family!
  17. Information about packet three and packet four can be found below. http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/fo...and_packets.htm Information about filing directly with the consulate rather than filing state side http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37648 http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...iginal+passport Hello Kyle, Thank you very much for your quick response and very helpful links. I am sorry I did not understand "dcf a cr1". I am opted into electronic processing, do I expect to receive P3 and P4 through email from NVC ? Thank you very much and best wishes to your interview!
  18. Hello there, I am IR5 category, and opted into Electronic Processing. I have paid AOS fee and IV fee, I also printed the Documents Cover Sheets. My question is: After I get all AOS (I-864, I-864A and supporting documents) and Applicants Civil Documents, Should I go ahead email these documents to NVCGuangzhou@state.gov? From http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html it says: "For certain U.S. Embassies and Consulates General, the National Visa Center (NVC) provides document collection and review, and schedules the cases for interview. The Department of State refers to these embassies and consulates as Appointment Posts. For immigrant visa cases assigned to an Appointment Post, the NVC will collect the fees, affidavit of support, civil documents, and police certificates, as required. When a case is complete, it will be scheduled an appointment for an interview with a consular officer. For all Appointment Posts (except, the Consulate General in Guangzhou, China) the NVC will send an appointment letter to all interested parties (applicant, petitioner, and agent/attorney of record, if applicable) notifying them of the date, time, and location of the interview; and forward the petition to the appropriate embassy/consulate. The Consulate General in Guangzhou, China will send appointment letters for cases assigned to it." It does not say when we can email AOS, Applicant's civil documents etc to NVC? For The Consulate General in Guangzhou, will it send appointment letter to Applicant directly? Will the Agent be informed about the appointment? Thank you very much! Best wishes!
  19. Hello caliorbust, What are included in Packet 3. Are you opt into electronic processing? Did you received P3 by email or by mail? What is Packet 4? Thank you very much! Best wishes!
  20. If doing electronic processing start here: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37703 http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=38820 Electronic processing requires you to email PDF scans to the email address you indicated. Hi dnoblett, I really appreciate your quick response! Best wishes!
  21. Hi there, After finishing I-864, I-864A and supporting documents, to whom should I email these forms and documents? is it NVCGuangzhou@state.gov? Thank you so much!
  22. I printed out the forms that needed to be signed, signed them, and then scanned them back into a saved file. It was the saved files with the signatures which I emailed to the NVC. In the Army it was always ok to write "Original Signed" into the signature block but were prepared to present the original signature at a later date. I don't know if the NVC or the rest of the government will abide by that, and I wasn't going to take the chance. I think the electronic processing is so new that nobody really has a grip on the exact procedures. It all depends on the luck of the draw on whom you get as an NVC operator, and possibly an NVC caseworker also. The GUZ interview process is where it really matters-whatever you sent the NVC just be sure that the originals are present at the interview. How did you organize applicant's documents and petitioner's documents? Did you scan and combine ALL applicant's docuemnts in to ONE PDF file or keep each individual document as one file and then zip ALL files into one zipped file and send to NVCGuangzhou@state.gov? Another question: Did you put a check list or cover sheet in the front of all documents so that the VO will know what documents in the file? Thanks a lot! All documents pertaining to myself, the Petitioner, were scanned and sent in a couple compressed files which were identified in the body of the email message as "Petitioner Documents". All beneficiary documents were identified as such in the body of the emails that contained documents pertaining to my wife, and were sent to the NVC that way. Yes, I drew up a cover sheet/checklist that I put right on top of the I-864 documents, tax return copies, IRS transcripts, etc. and tabbed each exhibit for quick/easy reference for my wife when she is asked by the VO to present them. I also enclosed the barcoded forms and receipts for the AOS and IV fee payments along with all the financial-related documents. When I go to China before my wife's interview, I will have expandable/tabbed folders to put all of our documents in and have checklists showing what is in each folder so she can find the documents quickly. I'll organize everything for her before the interview and make sure she knows what she has and where it is. I am snail-mailing the hard copies of the I-864 and related papers to my wife, already organized and tabbed. She can look them over and familiarize while we wait for our interview date to be set. Hello splinterman, Thank you so much for your very clear explanation! Good luck!
  23. If you have W2's and/or 1099 showing individual incomes then total up your gross income and note this on your I-864, and total up wife's total gross income and note this on her I-864A. Attach a copy of joint IRS return to I-864 and I-864A Thank you so much! dnoblett. I think it's good idea, but where on I-864 or I864A to mention it? Attach a copy of Joint Tax Return transcript is OK, right? Thank you again! Yes, as long as the numbers on the I-864 and I-864A add up to the gross income indicated on your joint return this will be fine. Thank you so much for your help! Best wishes,

  25. Hello David and KJJ, Thank you so much for your suggestions! I will email all of three years transcripts to them then. Two more questions: 1. On PG 4 item #25, about Federal income tax return information. I filed tax return with Form 1024, do I need use "Adjusted Gross Income" as the Total income for item #25? 2. on PG 6 about item #23, it says: "you may include a recent letter from your employer, showing your employer's address and telephone number, and indicating your annual salary". I got my employment letter, it indicates my Total Gross Pay, it is more than the "Adjusted Gross Income" for Item #25, is it OK? Thanks a lot! 1) Use transcripts, typically adjusted gross is used in you filed using 1040EZ 2) Gross income is what they want to know about, this is correct. Hello dnoblett, Thank you again! Sorry for my typo, it was form 1040. Another question, I filed tax returns as joint with my wife, so the tax transcripts show the total adjusted gross income for both of my wife's and mine together, not individual adjusted gross income, however, I need fill in I-864, my wife need to fill in I-864A, what should we do about the total income for Item #25?
