  1. Don't panic. We got that at first too, they were asking us for things they knew he couldn't get. We got what they asked for and told us that they were still reviewing the information. I was so frustrated at that point. I called my state senator, his office asked what they were suppose to do. I told them I wanted them to get him over here. We were denied with the K1 and I was afraid we would be denied with the K3. That office wasn't going to help at first, but I was very demanding and told them I would track the senator down and ask him personally. A week later we had his approval. Not sure if thats what did it or what.
  2. This question is for my sister, I told her to sign on to this website and make a profile and ask the question. She has yet to do that. Her story is similiar to mine but different too. When I made my first trip to China she went with me. She met my husbands best friend there and they had been corresponding back and forth, she has since been there to be with him. He has even come here on a tourist visa. He is a foreigner like my husband, but has residency papers in China. They want to get married. He seems to think because of the tourist visa he has which is valid for 2 years that they can't get married here. I thought they could as long as he doesn't stay here. Anyway, she is planning on moving to China. They want to get married in China and live there a few years. He owns his own company and isn't ready to move. She said she needs a marriageability certificate showing she is single. She asked me about it, but we got married in Hong Kong and that wasn't required. My question is: What is it she needs exactly? How does she go about getting that? Also, she was married before and her husband died. Will she need something showing she is a widow? Any responses would be great, truly appreciated. I will work on her to get her profile on here.
  3. My hubby is home, finally, picked him up at the airport this morning. He said everything went fine and smooth. It's nice to know I will wake up in the morning and he will be there. I can finally stop stressing and breathe.
  4. Yes thats about right, it took my husband 10 days I think.
  5. Email the consulate, they will re-schedule the interview. I understand about the mail, it took my husband 10 days before he got packet 4. I found out about his interview because I emailed them after he sent packet 3 back and just asked them if it had been scheduled yet and they sent me an email with his packet 4 info stating it had. They are quick to answer your email about 3 days.
  6. I got a reply this morning from the consulate, it had the checklist and appt letter emailed to me. Thanks for the replies.
  7. I posted the same question on visajourney website. My husband has an interview for K3 in Hong Kong on Nov 10th. He hasn't received packet 4 as of yet. They mailed it on Oct 14th, they said up to 10 days to receive, still no #4. I emailed them yesterday which it takes up to 2 days for them to reply about not getting yet. I had emailed them previously about another question, and they told me of his interview date. I am worried now because even if they do mail another it won't get to him in time. Is this something he needs? Does he need the appt letter for the interview? Is it a requirement? Any answers appreciated, thanks.
  8. I have applied for a K3 and my I130 was approved on Sept 1st, but my I129 hasn't been approved. The case was "touched" on Sep 1,2, 3, but now nothing else. Has anyone seen any approvals of the I-129 this late? I know we should apply for the CR1 because this is the best route, but we wanted to go K3 and if that doesn't work, go back and apply the CR1. We married in Hong Kong and our K3 interview would be in Hong Kong. What about the CR1 where will that interview be? If someone could reply to these 2 questions I would appreciate it. As you can see from my previous posts you will notice why we married in Hong Kong as my husband is not a Chinese citizen, so we had no choice. Thanks.
  9. Yes we know this, but my husband is a foreigner living in China. You have to be a resident of China to marry there. We didn't have a choice.
  10. Thank you for that, I didn't know I got the old one back.
  11. I was wondering if I should renew my passport in my married name. My husband lives in China and I live in the U.S. Should I change it to my married name now before our interview? Or do you think it would hurt his interview in any way if I do not. I have traveled to China since on the passport, luckily I have my drivers license with my married name but a state ID card with my maiden name for photo ID purposes. My passport now has my old Chinese visas and stamps in it and if I get a new one it will be blank. Let me know what your opinion is. I don't want it to hurt his interview in anyway. Thanks.
  12. What is the weather like in Ningbo, China end of January beginning of February? Will we need big winter coats? Is there alot of snow? I should be used to the winter since I live in the midwest, but I was wondering. Thanks.
  13. I took this flight back in August it was fine, other than we were delayed 1 1/2 hours getting into Shanghai. The plane was clean and I liked that they had those individual movie screens on the back of each seat for me that used up alot of the time. The flight home no delays but I did lose a piece of luggage when I landed in St Louis I had to wait an hour for the next flight to get in to pick up that luggage. I would fly them again. I am flying out next month to Shanghai myself, but we are flying American Airlines.
  14. Which is better to fly into Shanghai? I have never flown these 2 international. I have always flown Northwest or Delta. I like Northwest alot, Delta lost my luggage so I am not to fond of them. I did get it back, just was an inconvenience. Just wanting to know which is the better airlines of the two? Thanks.
  15. We got the same thing in December 2007. It was sent back and USCIS finally got it on May 2, 2008. It has not been touched since May 19th. I contacted my congressman and they said that it can take up to 180 days. I guess we will see where it is in November. I had heard that it will expire and that the white slip we got is basically the NOID. We filed with California service center and that is what happens. We got married in February of this year and filed for a K3. The difference is with ours is we got married in Hong Kong. We are both foreigners and could not marry in China. He will now have his interview in Hong Kong. The positive of that is that it is shorter than GZ and I can be in the interview with him. I am not sure what to tell you to do. we went this route because my congressman said that it could take a year or more for us to receive an answer and the answer could be that it expired and we have to re apply. I didn't want to do that. Just be ready to be patient it will happen.
  16. I am getting ready to mail in our K-3 paperwork. As you can see my fiance and I got married in February in Hong Kong. I have a couple of questions. 1. Will my husband need any type of post office box in Hong Kong for the consulate to send his information to, because he lives in Guangzhou? 2. What do I need to do if he moves in the middle of this process? Is there a form for change of address or do I call USCIS? The reasoning of the first question, is because I know that he will interview in Hong Kong. Thanks.
  17. My first trip I noticed lots of people watching me. I being a woman and not being Chinese. My sister went with me and we are both tall and bigger than Chinese woman. Women, children and especially men would stare. It wasn't a big deal, we were different. I had a child on the subway reach up and feel my hair, she just smiled and I smiled back. Her mother scolded her and I told her it was okay. One man was riding a motorcycle and wrecked it because he was staring at both my sister and I. When your different people are curious is all.
  18. I should be in the Guangzhou, Hong Kong area between Feb 14 through the 30th if anyone wants to meet up.
  19. Yes from my state, I just meant he is from where I live, I know him personally. I don't know if he can help at all, just thought I would ask him. I have heard before that they can help. I figured I had nothing to lose.
  20. We got the blue slip, which I am very upset over. They asked all the normal questions but the problem was why my fiance is in an out of Hong Kong so much which the reason is he renew's his visa monthly, which that law in China changed a few months ago, where you could do it once every six months to now monthly. You think they would of known that, and what he has done at each of his jobs, and then how long I was at my job. Which I don't understand the question of my job, when all that was in there with the forms. They gave him a blue slip and told him to go home and write it all out and bring it back later in the day. He did that, which gave us some hope, but then when he took it back, they said they have to send it back to Homeland Security for a check, back to Washington. They said it will probably be one to three months for that. This morning I called a State Senator of mine, that is from the same town I live in. I know him personally, hopefully something will get done, he said he was going to make a few calls and get back to me the end of the week. He doesn't understand why it is going back to Homeland Security when both of our checks came out clear. We also hired an American attorney that has an office at the consulate. I don't know what to think, I slept a whole 2 hours last night, I have been very upset, and everytime I think of it, I start to cry. All I want to do is get into bed and go to sleep. There goes my Christmas present. Sorry just a little depressed. Everyone says have positive thoughts, I am trying, it isn't working all that well. The consulate also said they were not used to foreigners getting those types of visas. I guess we will see what the senator says.
  21. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
