1. I was wondering what kind of format do you guys use for emails as evidence. I was thinking just grouping by copying and pasting everything (names/date/subjects) the ones that matter most into just a word document, and then just printing them all out at once (maybe a few pages worth). Is there any good format or presentation that looks good, heh?
2. Oh I see... when will the old ID cards expire? And I'm assuming the new ID cards will be eventually used for the P3/P4 packets? In the meantime, I'll tell my SO to get the new ID card.
3. Ah. I think I'll just copy my birth certificate front and back then. Thanks.
4. I was wondering which one is preferred? Or is there no preference? I am assembling the I-129F package and I was wondering which one is usually used?
5. Ah, I see. Is the police check and I-134 usually required for all beneficiaries? I guess I will know when the time has come exactly what documents are needed then. But no worries, by then I will continue seeking more information, hehe. Thanks once again.
6. Ah, what exactly is needed in the P3/P4? I'm assuming what my SO is guessing too... my SO wonders about the official documents like his own passport, birth certificate, etc... I'm guessing that is in it, too? How about another similar I-129F package? Will he need that later? Where else can I find more info on the P3/P4 checklist? Thanks.
7. Hi everyone. I just wanted to get the whole process of the K1 visa down in my head. It seems I still am a little confused. I also wanted to let my SO know what he fully needs and what he needs to do later. There is just some minor questions I have regarding the whole process. So here's what I have down as a general understanding... correct me if I am mistaken: 1. Send the I-129F package (making 2 copies for me and my SO) to service center (what I need from my SO: signed & filled G-325A form w/ passport, letter of intent, any other evidence). 2. Wait for the NOA1 & NOA2. On the process flowchart, it says start gathering documents needed by my SO. I was wondering what exactly does he need? I'm assuming its an identical I-129F package perhaps or just the form itself? 3. Case forwarded to National Visa Center and then Embassy of my SO's country. 4. Forms/checklist sent to beneficiary/and beneficiary compiles them sending to the Consulate (American or Chinese consulate?). This is where I am still a little bit confused. I was wondering what is usually on the checklist and what forms are needed? My SO was originally wondering when he needed to have his birth documents/chinese passports/etc that was absent from the original I-129F package that I will send out in the beginning. So, I am assuming this is where it should be at... 5. Medical interview and beneficiary interview. (Then get the Visa, yay!) 6. Beneficiary comes to America, applies for POE, SS + marriage (yay again!). And after that, there's a few more final steps, but pretty much I am worried about before this point and still have a few more questions. Can anyone explain it to me some more in detail? I am trying to tell my SO what he needs now, and what he must prepare in the future, so we both know the whole process and got it down as much as possible. Thanks.
8. I had a question about the emails as evidence. In the emails with my SO and I, I address him by his casual English name instead of his pinyin English name. This is the name that he just made up for himself, nothing official on his documents. However, in the forms and documents, he uses his official pinyin English name for the signatures and everything. I was thinking when he comes to the US, we then can change his English name to an official one when going through the naturalization/citizenship. My concern is that the VO/immigration officers might get confused not knowing who my emails address to. Should I just write an additional short explanation and put it in the same place with the emails as evidence? What should I do? Has anyone else ever encountered this problem before? Thanks.
9. I think what he means is just thought maybe it would get a little confusing and raise some questions because of the similar names and relation. But I guess you're right.
10. I was wondering if it was truly necessary to put the name of the location in the back of every photo that was evidence that both has met together? I was browsing through Visajourney's guides and I noticed it said "Make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo." I can remember the date, but some of the locations I don't remember or cannot translate it to the English name. Is this still okay?
11. Sorry for the lateness, I've been busy and swarmed with work. So I guess for #2, I can put the address (number/street) like: xxxxxxx, Taicheng Town. There's actually enough space alotted. Then just put Taishan (town/city), China (state/country), and the postal code. For #15, I'll again write it out. Do you think this should work? Thanks again. Last thing is I have typed out the chinese simplified text with my SO's name/address. However, it does not read in Adobe. I tried installing the Chinese fonts for Adobe, and still nothing. Any tips on getting chinese letters in Adobe? Thanks once again.
12. I, too, am wondering about this also. Because I will need my parents to co-sponsor me, but I think they have co-sponsored other immigrants (non-K1 visa applicants though) in the past which are their relatives. What circumstances could this have? Thanks.
13. I notice that I do not have my airline boarding pass stubs. I believe before departure back to USA, the airliner employees took my boarding pass. Now all I have is just the original itinerary. My flight was from USA to Hong Kong, then I went to China through the border of Shenzhen. (I have passport stamp documentation though). Is it possible to get a copy of the original boarding passes? Thanks.
14. Hi. I am having trouble filling in some of the questions for the I-129F forms. My fiance lives in Taicheng Town of Taishan City of Guangdong Province. For question #2, would I put Taicheng for (Town or City) and Taishan for (State or Country)? Does it matter if I include "Town" or "City" (ex. Taishan or Taishan City, Taicheng or Taicheng Town) And for question #15, would I put also put Taicheng for (Town or City), but put Guangdong for (State or Province) ? Or for (State or Province), put back Taishan instead? Also for question #15 regarding the phone number, my fiance's area code is 750. So should I put +86 750 xxx (xxx being his main phone)? Do I have to put +011 86 750 xxx, as +011 is the code to call from USA to China? And last (phew), question #16. Kind of confused about this Q. Would I need to write in Chinese my fiance's name and full address? If so, Chinese simplified or Chinese traditional? Not sure if this is what they (USCIS) were looking for... Thanks.
15. Notarial divorce decrees if applicable. You might as well have her send several passport photos and keep several more for GUZ needs. 237114 Ah, I see. She has not been married before. I'll have her send more passport photos then. I was just worried that I might needed other copies of other documents from her because I'm still new at this, but just wanted to make sure. I just wanted to know what exactly I needed for her, so she understands it too. I guess that's it for her then. Thanks all.
16. I am about to prepare my I-129F package, and I want to let my fiance know what she needs to give me. Is this everything I need from her? Fiance Letter of Intent (signed by her) Her passport photo G-325A forms (all 4, filled & signed by her) I was wondering does she need anything else like a copy of her birth certificate or anything else?
17. You can but the only reason to do so is if there are official records in that name. 236565 Oh, I see. I guess I'll just put "None" then. Thanks!
18. I need help in regards to question #7. Can I put her English (not pinyin), but her full English name there? Like for ex. "Jessica Chen"? Thanks.
