  1. Wow i have not posted in this section in a long time. I have a question that maybe someone here can answer. I have a good friend that has been dating a Filipino woman for about 1 year, a nurse who is here on a 3 year work contract. She has work visa. They want to get married but not sure what to do and I have no clue. What do they need to do to get marreid and how will that effect her work visa. Her employer says they have no concerns over this.

Any help would be nice....even if you send me to another place for info.

    Thanks

  2. In filling out paperwork for upcoming I-130. Talking with LiYuan she gets her postal mail at her work address and not her apartment address. Will this cause problems down the road later? How to address the issue? No pun intended Thanks in advance

Not an issue, I have seen many do this.

My wife received mail at her mother's PO Box.

    See I told you

  3. Can she get mail at her home address? If so I would have it sent there. My wife got her mail at her fathers house and we used his address for all paper work. I think in your cxase it would be best if she could get the mail at her home address. It might look funny to have her mailing address at the same adsdress as her work but it still might be ok. I am sure Dan will answer you with the correct advise soon, he knows alot more than me about such things

  4. You will need the SWIFT code, for example from the B of A -

What is Bank of America's SWIFT Code # and what is it used for?

Bank of America's SWIFT Code number is BOFAUS3N. The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) is an industry-owned co-operative supplying secure, standardized messaging services and interface software to nearly 8,100 financial institutions in 207 countries and territories. SWIFT members include banks, broker-dealers and investment managers. While not always required, a Swift Code number may be required by some banks for the completion of wire transfers.

They are NOT, of course, subject to customs inspection. The banks will inform any authorities that need to be informed.

However, in general, to convert RMB to dollars, they will need a receipt showing that at least that amount had been previously converted in the other direction. Someone more familiar with transfers in this direction can provide better details on restrictions they may encounter at the Chinese end.

It is her fathers money. he wants to help us with the down payment on the house. Why would he need to show that the money was convertedthe other way at one time?

  5. Hello Everyone,

I am getting ready to file the I-129f. I was married for a short time to a Chinese woman who wanted a ticket to America. Our marriage lasted 2 years. However, she ended the marriage before I filed for her 10 year green card. My question is, in my current application, should I include a letter explaining the situation of the previous marriage? And, Did I read correctly? The filing fee is $340.00? Thanks for the help.

I am not sure what the filling fee is right now but to answer your question....YES.... include a detailed explination about your previous marrage. Make sure your Fiancee is well prepared to answer questions about her at the interview. I had a similar situation myself.

  6. Hello, yes brother tsui,as you said they are the real criminal thugs at guz. well we have now gone the route of congressional involvement. we had our attourney sent out letters this week,so hopefully we can at least keep the file at guz. although an explanation would be nice, like thats gonna happen. my heart goes out to you and everyone else in the same boat as us. as you said it would be a blessind if we can get anything done in less then 10 months. we'll keep you posted. god bless, see ya soon, Davy

    Hello all,

It's sad for us to say goodbye to our friends at Candle for Love. Engaged 3 years ago and married 2 years ago, we are still permanently separated by GUZ. There was not even an explanation why both her K-1 and CR-1 were denied.

We have decided to get divorced. There is just no way we can continue the marriage like this. It's a torture for us and we both have agreed to quit. She is young and I don't want her to waste her youth on this.

We just don't understand why the GUZ, the Department of State of US treated us like this. At the minimum, we deserved the explanation why they denied the visa. This is the spouse visa, this is between husband and wife. This is not the visitor's visa or student's visa. They are breaking up families and they don't care because this not their family.

Again, thanks for all the help from you wonderful friends.

    Bye.

Very sorry to hear this, are you sure this is what you want? I know it is hard to have to wait this long and get nothing in return. If it is truly the end for you then I wish you both the best. My heart goes out to you both. Good luck in the future.

  7. Oh yes familiar with CHN-Love. I got lucky twice there, my rule was to see if "admirer" was willing to go off the site and swap emails, if after 1 or two messages on the site they were not willing to do so, I would move on.

I met one nice girl in Guangzhou on CHN-Love, swapped email, and took a tour of China about 6 months later to meet, but I could tell it was not meant to be.

I did like the "admirer" emails, for the most part the service did an OK job matching.

About 6 months after the first trip to China, my Yu poped up as an admirer from CHN, I did not respond there, however a week or so later I spotted her on Cherry Blossoms which is not a Match Maker site, so I sent her a message on Blossoms and swapped emails, then did all communications via email after that, eventually webcam and Skype. I did confirm she was the real deal by searching around the web and came across the website of the school she was teaching at ans spotted her as being the instructor and vice principle of the school.

    But yes buyer beware!

I met my wife on Cjerry Blossoms to, I think that is a very good site. After only 3 or 4 site emials she suggested we use yahoo so we could see each other. Good site

  11. When I first filed for my fiancee's K1 visa, I was living with my parents. So I used their address on the application. That address has always been considered my permanent address, because I move around a lot (though all within the same state). In fact, the apartment I am currently living in in another city is only a temporary arrangement, and I'll actually be moving again before my fiancee finally comes to the US.

So my question is... what address should she put on her P4 form saying where she will be living?

I also used my parents address on my papers. As long as you will be able to get the mail in a timely fashion it should be ok.

  12. I have a question about translating documents. I have a copy of the GA drivers manual so my wife can study for her test. I also have a copy in PDF format. I have read that you can translate a PDF file using Google Translator, you just upload file and choose the language. I have tried this but it does not seem to work for me. Does anyone know of a way to translate a 57 page PDF that does not cost a fortune???

Any and all suggestios will be welcome :)
