  1. ok, well I hope you're right. I did find that I can edit the html code of the webpage and then print off the e-ticket and boarding pass in my correct name... But its still wrong in United's comp sys.
  2. This doesn't have much to do with China.... but my wife and I will be traveling later this year for our honeymoon. We were using free ticket vouchers so United had to do the ticket booking. Despite my careful spelling of our names to the guy at the call center, somehow my middle name was spelled incorrectly . I called twice to have it fixed, but they won't (because they won't reissue the ticket). I was told not to worry about it that there's a note on my file so they (the ticketing agent) will know whats up on flight day. I just don't really believe them that it won't be a big deal....maybe not with United but I'm thinking TSA might be a little more skeptical. Anyway, what should I do?
  3. ok thanks guys...looks like a couple more months of waiting...
  4. Its been almost 4 months since NOA1. Just wondering how much longer would be normal to wait...a couple months? Just making sure we haven't been forgotten. Already have AP and EAD.

  6. Thanks! I'm glad I was wrong.
  7. Just to follow up... We've been talking about this off and on for a couple weeks in the family. My wife was under the impression that everyone in her family in China would be able to come to the US (sisters/brothers - and their spouses, and kids) I was under the impression that is was just for sisters/brothers and their kids (as long as they are unmarried and under 21). I just want to confirm I've got the right info so I can give my in-laws the correct information and we can all plan accordingly.
  8. Just got an update from USCIS... They transfered our case to CSC...So I'm hoping for apprival w/o interview. Interestingly enough, last week we received another NOA1 for the I-485 with a letter explaining it was re-sent since the first NOA 1 was returned as "undeliverable". But we actually GOT the original NOA 1. all i can say is wow...just wow
  9. My laopo has a sister in the US thats a USC. 4 years ago she petitioned for her couple of sisters and brother back in China. Just recently they got a letter that said keep waiting, no visas are available yet...not unexpected. I have been looking on USCIS' website and the State Dept's website and they seem to have very differnet estimates of approval time for these petitions. I understand that USCIS is the petition side and State is the visa side...but... I have read 11-12 years for Chinese citizens, in other cases about 6 years or so. The Service Center where the I-130s are at are working on F-4s from 2004. I am just wondering how much longer they should plan on waiting? Thanks State Dept. http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/WaitingListItem.pdf
  10. Just got back from the ASC... After I got the letter at about 12:30 I called the 1-800 USCIS number...it was useless...those people suck and are unhelpful. So I just decided to try to make it to the ASC before it closed at 4...I had about 3 hours to get there and a 2.5 hour drive. I had to go to Michigan City, IN. I'm not sure why...I know a guy that lives close to me, his wife got to do her bio at Naperville, IL...which is half as close to me as MC, IN. Anyway, I guess I'm fortunate that I knew the back roads way well as I traveled it often to and from college in Michigan. OK, so anyway, the Bio. We got there about 3:15, and the security guard and another employee gave my wife and I a hard time about why were were late. I did well to explain all the BS we went through to get there in a calm manner. There was nobody else there, so when USCIS got down to business, it only took about 5 minutes and my wife and I were on our way home again. It was a much slower, less tense car ride home. But what really stilll chaps my ass is the address on the re-sent bio notice is the same as it was on the NOA1. There was no excuse for it not to be delivered. But oh well, I can't change the past, everything worked out ok so no sense to dwell on it.
  11. I received the letter from USCIS today. It was the biometrics appt. Unfortunately, the biometrics was scheduled for today at 11:00 am. I didn't get this letter until 12:30 today. There are instructions on how to re-schedule the appointment...but I'm concerned that its too late now... on the letter it states that failure to appear results in them considering the application is abandoned. What should I do...reschedule with the ASC or make an Infopass?
  12. Called USCIS this morning and talked to a real human. They seemed to know we were affected by a mail problem before we gave our info. Anyway, I was given a couple Service Request Numbers (I'm not really sure what to do with), but supposedly what USCIS sent will be RE-sent, and I should expect it within 45 days. If not, call back again. I asked what address they sent it to last time, but was told "I'm sorry, I don't have access to that information." I asked what was content of what was sent, but was again told, "I'm sorry, I don't have access to that information." I asked a few more questions and got the same answer. It was frustrating sure, but really up until this point the whole process has been very smooth, this is only a minor delay (I hope). I'll hold off on the info pass appt. unless something else happens. Hopefully this'll be back on track in a couple days or weeks. But this might be a good example of why it can be important to file a G-28 with AOS app.
  13. Is this a viable option even though our local USCIS Field Office is not the same as our USCIS Application Support Center? I guess I'll find tomorrow if/when I get ahold of somebody.
  14. No we have not moved. Thats why I don't understand why we got something before at our address, but now we can't. It doesn't make sense to me.
  15. Is USCIS open today? Are the hours 8a-8p eastern, pacific??? Here's my story. I got a text message this morning from USCIS saying the case, my wife's I-485, has been updated. I check it out online. It says something like: On Feb 12 the Post office returned the notice we sent you as undeliverable. The I-765 also has this same message. There has been NO change to the I-131. I already received the NOA1s for all 3. There was no change before indiciating they sent a RFE, or a change indicating biometrics had been scheduled/notice sent. So I'm not sure what they could have sent. But, it shouldn't have mattered what they sent, because the NOA1s they sent previously made to us no problem--no we haven't moved or changed anything. I tried to call, but I cannot make it to a real live person. Am I going to have to schedule an INFO PASS and take a day off work?
  16. Yeah, I saw that yesterday: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/c...how/5510235.cms
  17. Later this morth, my wife and I will probably have everything we need to send away for her green card. But my question is, should I just hold off for a few weeks until I file my 2009 taxes, so I can include a copy with the I-864? Her I-94 deadline is 20 March, and I have 06-08 years of tax transcripts for the I-864 already. I recall reading awhile ago where sometimes around Jan and Feb GUZ will want to see, for example, 2009 taxes, even though the deadline isn't until 15 April. Just wondering if USCIS might follow a similar thought process.
  18. This situation is similar to mine... It seems every CS so far that I have talked to in my area doesn't want to follow the instructions to the I-693. My soon to be wife had her medical and vaccinations earlier this month (trying to schedule the CS appointment next month). The CSs that I've talked to will absolutely not transcribe anything. They INSIST on a full medical even after I point it out to them its not needed in black and white on the I-693 instructions. They just don't care. I'm not interested in telling USCIS these doctors are idiots, I just want to find a CS that actually knows what to do with a K visa holder. At least I'm not pressed for time...yet.
  19. Thanks everyone. That's pretty much what I thought we were going to have to do (change networks or get another cell phone).
  20. My soon to be wife brought her cell phone to the States because she really likes it and wanted to use it here. I have Verizon and wanted to add her to my plan. I wanted to buy her a Verizon SIM card for her phone, but was told that Verizon SIM cards only fit Verizon phones. So, I'm not sure where to go next. She likes her phone and doesn't want a new phone, so I'd like to do everything I can to make hers work in the US. Should I consider jumping to another company that can support her phone with an US SIM card? suggestions?
  21. Just wanted to drop by qiuckly and say we got PINK! Now just waiting to pick up the visa, and of course it wasn't ready today when the Consulate said it would be ready.... I'll post the details when I get back to the states next week. Good luck to everyone else and thanks for all the well wishes.
  22. Congrats on the PINKs thus far and good luck to those yet to have their turn. My fiancee and I have prepared about as much as we can, we're ready. I was pretty sick last week with a bad cold or something, but finally feeling well enough and ready to make the trip to be there in GZ. I'll report the verdict as soon I can!
  23. Interview Date on the 14th of Dec. still in shock....
  24. what's the deal? Don't see on the GZ Con. website. I'm assuming its not needed anymore. Correct?
  25. Anybody got one? I've tried searching online for something to help me convert, but no luck....and I'm not going to buy Acrobat.
