1. Really sorry to hear this. What happened though? I thought you passed your interview on May 23rd? 224767 Yes, I passed but the consulate called me on the day of my pick up that I should come for a second interview the next day. That was where I got to know of the TPC.
2. Hi, My case is being sent back to the US for review and possible revocation due to third party correspondence. Please, 1. What is/are the step(s ) involved in this? 2. Will the petitioner be contacted in the US before any decision is taken? 3. How long will the processing take? Thank you.
3. Yes Frank, I got blue sheet of paper indicating what the consulate is looking for. My overcome document shall be ready next week. Thanks.
4. If K1 is not granted according to section 221g of the Immigration Act, what does it translate to? Any hope?
5. Eh, I don't think so! We were 5 K1s together on Monday, others were Chinese and they all got their visas approved. Let me also intimate you with the fact that I was denied a tourist visa to visit my fiance in August last year. My K1 visa approval had nothing to do with being a foreigner.
6. Great! I shall PM you when I'm near the time to get started with my kids ''follow to join'' application. Thanks!
7. Hi all, I'm a foreign K1 beneficiary in China. Happy to let you know that I passed my interview yesterday. It lasted for about 3 to 4 minutes. The questions asked were: 1. It seems you're here alone, where are your children? They're not with me in China. He then cancelled the names of my children on the appointment letter and said "Ok, it means they will be interviewed in your country, we shall arrange for "follow to join''. 2. What do you do on China? I teach ...... 3. For how long have you been in China? 3 years. 4. How did you meet your fiance? ..... 5. How many times has he visited you in China?... 3 times 6. What does your fiance do for a living? He's a Registered Nurse 7. Where was your fiance before he relocated to another state?..... 7. Do you have any photos? Yes gave him an album. (I had 3 albums but the VO looked through one). The VO commented on my resume and qualifications, I guess he was impressed. He also noted the fact that I worked as a Research Supervisor in an International Organization (not in China). I was really impressed at the embassy yesterday because all the people who attended to me gave me so much confidence with the smiles on their faces. The Chinese guy who put my documents together was very nice and friendly. The lady who took my finger print was very friendly too and correctly pronouced my jaw breaking names. The VO was really wonderful! God Bless him real good. And many thanks to you all on candleforlove for the invaluable information available on this site. Have a good one!
8. Hi Keesa, I'm a foreign fiancee in China too. I got 3 years residency in China. I have been scheduled for interview and I have a police report from the Provincial Notary Office. What I did was to inform all my past and employers (have been living in the same city/province) that I needed a Police Certificate. They all gave me letters of no criminal record which I took to the PSB. The PSB asked me to come back after a week. Then the PSB gave me a letter in Chinese which I took to the Provincial Notary Office. And this letter was used to prepare my police certificate which was translated to English and notarized. Hope this helps
9. It is stated in ''Letter to K1/K2 Applicant" that applicants should get a notarial marriage certificate and a notarial divorce/death certificate to prove dissolution of the marriage (for those previously married). In a situation whereby the marraige certificate of a disolved marraige is not available. Will it affect the beneficiary's chances of being issued a K1 visa?
10. I'm a foreign benefiary of K1 in China, scheduled for interview this month. My documents (notarial birth and divorce certificates) are foreign and in English language. And all my forms are filled out in English because I can neither speak nor write Chinese. The only document in chinese is my police certificate which is translated and notarized. Kindly adviCe on how to put foreign documents together for K1 visa interview in GZ. Thank you!
11. ''K visa applicants must fill out and submit the Chinese version of these forms''. What if the K1 applicant is a foreigner in China who can neither read nor write Chinese? Many thanks for your quick response.
12. Good Luck !! 214620 Thanks, I'm very anxious about my interview. Kind of tensed up too.
13. Hi all, Certification of legal capacity and intent to marry isn't in my P4. Where can this form be dowloaded?
14. Photocopies of original documents are acceptable when you first submitted your petition to the USCIS. The USCIS in fact recommends that you NOT send originals. But, as you stated, you are to have your interview next week. While many state that they have not been asked to present original copies of notarial documents at the interview, the VO is well within rights to request. The interview is the place that you are required to present ALL ORIGINAL documents. Again, you may not be asked to present, but if you're asked to do so, and you're unable to, there is a strong possibility that adjudication will be delayed until the document is presented. The long and short of it is that it's not worth taking the chance to not have it on hand, but that's your decision. 214377 Thanks. You don't seem to understand me. I guess I didn't explain myself well enough. I have all my originals in English which I will take to the embassy. Incase they need me to sumbit photocopies of the original documents, are they supposed to be notorized? Put differently, do I need to take with me the originals and notarized photocopies of originals or ordinary photocopies.
15. Please can you explain further. I don't seem to get you. Do you mean photoccopies of the originals? What was never asked for, originals or photocopies?
16. If you don't have the originals of these documents, I suggest you get busy and start working getting them now. 214369 I have all the originals (in English). I thought I needed to make photocopies of the originals and notarize them for submission at the embassy since I CAN'T submit my originals. Really got confused!
17. All Chinese norarial birth certificates need to be translated to English. There are many services throughout the country that specialize in doing so. Copies of these certificates are NOT acceptable. For the interview, you must present only original documents bearing official notarial seals and embossing. 214360 I'm not Chinese but will be interviewed for my K1 Visa is Guangzhou. All my documents are in English. Do I need to notarize the photocopies to be submited. I will take all my originals along with me.
18. Assuming the single certificate from your Embassy is also in English, it sounds to me like you have all the bases covered. The single certificate is what qualifies you to be a "fiance" and to marry in the USA within 90 days of arrival. The divorce decree is backup for that. A marriage certificate would be overkill. 214356 Yeah, the single certificate is also in English. Many thanks for your quick response.
19. Thanks for your response! 214342 That's a horse of a different color. We deal pretty exclusively with Chinese Citizens coming to the USA as Fiance or Wife of US Citizens. What specifically are you being asked to bring to the interview? Police certificate from what country in what language? Single Certificate? From what country in what language? Divorced in what country and certificate in what language? 214344 I'm a fiance of a US citizen. I got police certicates in all countries I resided since age 16. I'm asked to bring the same documents required by Chinese. Divorced in my country, not in China. Obtianed my divorce certificate in my own country. All documents are in English except police certificate obtained in China which is translated to English and notarized. Single certificate from my embassy in China. At the time of KI petition filing my fiancee and I agreed that I should get my visa in China, hence it was indicated in my petition. Don't think that's odd!
20. I need some clarity on these please: Scheduled for K1 interview next week. For K1 visa interview, am I supposed to notarize photocopies of my original notarial birth certicifate, notarial divorce certificate and notarial police certificate? Or is an ordinary photocopy enough? Thanks!
21. So, yes, your police certificate and single certificate will need to be notarial translations as well. 214341 Many thanks. I'm not Chinese. I'm a foreigner in China, my fiancee is in the USA. I'm scheduled for K1 Visa interview in Guangzhou next week. Does anyone have an idea of what K1 interveiw is like for a foreigner in China? All my documents are in English except for my police certificate (obtianed in China) which is translated and notatized. Thanks for your response!
22. Communist Party of China. 214331 Wao! What has CPC got to do with your K1 Interview. Just curious!
