  1. We got the visa in the mail yesterday, it took about a week for us to get the visa in hand, GZ is picking up speed at processing visa. now I can book my flight.
  2. Anyone have any idea how long does it take for GZ to issue visa for the call-in letter recipients? They received our passport 7 working days ago but still no sign of visa yet.
  3. I was just there in July, a day after they switched to the new form. my picture was the standard visa picture from CVS Pharmacy so I didn't have any issue, but I was turn away for my picture not glue onto my application. I was almost reject ed the same afternoon for having hand written part of the application. I live in Houston so I go to that embassy every year to get my visa. their rules changes all the time. they used to provide forms for you. they've stopped since they switched to the new format. they used to not allow cellphone in there at all, now they just ask you to turn it off. they lady who turn me away in the morning didn't have any problem with my hand written application. so it really depends on who is behind the window. lastly, pay attention to the street sign. park further if you need to, don't get your car towed
  4. have your paper work filled out and printed with a computer before you go. I got a tongue lashing last time with a partly hand written application. also, two year visa is not an option on the form but they do have it. the cost is the same for both one year and two year visa. have your picture glue to the application, they won't do it for you. application link is here
  5. the price they quoted me is actually for beginning of Oct. around $1000 for one way is just a rip off.
  6. maybe I am looking at the wrong place because all the prices we got from travel agent is more expensive than round trip ticket.
  7. where do I find one way ticket from Guangzhou to Houston so me and my wife can fly home together? I've never bought ticket in China before.
  8. just got a call from my wife. we got the called-in letter. Visa approved. I sent in the requested document on July 18th. we got the letter today so that's 19 days since blue slip. thank you all for your help. I am going to Guangzhou. woohoo!!
  9. If your computer locks up or takes forever, it might have adware or spyware. try clean it up before you go out and buy a new computer. try this first: http://www.ehow.com/how_6339862_run-search-destroy-safe-mode.html
  10. no, she's not a CCP member. I sent her money every month. She wants to be a housewife so I don't ask her to work. I really thought I was gonna get a pink slip this time. I had plan my time off work around this day. now it all got pushed back indefinitely. I hope the call in letter comes soon because traveling is gonna be difficult and expensive between Oct to Feb.
  11. thanks guys, I feel so much better now. btw tsap, condulations on your pink slip.
  12. I've managed to sent them the resume as soon as possible, how soon will GZ respond? is this "call-in-letter" an actual call or an letter?
  13. Anyone has an example of this type of resume I can reference from? I feel like I have one shot at this. GZ can reject anything for any reason. it's one REF away between white slip and pink. I feel like I must get this one last thing perfect.
  14. what is call-in letter? did you get a pink slip after submitting the resume and working plan? I am just trying figure out how to write this up.
  15. she has no background at all. high school education. worked retail for a short time. hasn't work for the past three years.
  16. OMG, thank you so much for your quick reply. I am so relieved. I was concern because of the white paper. My wife is not working and not in CCP at all. it's me that is working at very low profile government job. hopefully I will get a visa as soon as I turn in what they ask for.
  17. my wife went to interview yesterday and got a white slip with requesting resume and work history. has anyone else got anything like it?? is this a good or bad thing?? please help. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6129/5940098660_ef83e6790c_b.jpg
  18. I love Electronic processing. got email on June 13 saying processing complete. Got email today saying interview date July 14. all of you who got denied K1 around DEC 2009, your interview date is around the corner.
  19. I have a notarized copy of her passport, but it's a Notarial Certificate from the Notary Public Office in her city (Yingkou, Liaoning) -- did I read somewhere that the IRS would only accept a passport notarized in the US or at the US consulate? I just got off the phone with my wife. those bastards in Guangzhou Consulate told her they will not Notarize her passport. she'll have to take it elsewhere, get a notarized copy, then they'll certify the notarized copy of her passport. WTF???
  20. You should be okay with your trips. I had been hoping for a March or April interview back when I sent in our CR-1 app last June, but it's looking like a later time as we can't seem to get a P-2 out of USCIS. Maybe we'll meet up in Guangzhou and tawk hillbilly tawk while the ladies get their visas. David, I'm not gonna be in Fushun in March, but once my case clears NVC I'll be over on the next plane outta Dulles. I still hope to see you over yonder. tsap seui you should get approve any day now, I think almost everyone here got denied K1 and now applying for CR-1. I sent in my CR-1 in last August and got approved last week. I am now waiting on the interview date. count me in in if y'll gonna meet in Guangzhou.
  21. I just did this in March. Guangzhou consulate said we need to make appoiontment online only. I showed my passport, took a number and waited in line. I talked the lady into helping me. she told us to come back in a couple hours and did it for us. anyone getting this done might want to make an appointment online so you won't get turn away without appointment.
