Bob, Twenty-four hours by train from Shanghai to Guangzhou! Trains are so slow in China. My fiancee took the train from Guangzhou back to Nanning. I think it was about 16 hrs. She said she couldn't sleep at all. I think the group will be partying on the train.

Not only from interview dates in August, but also people from September's interviews as well. JJWaiting's fiancee was on August 1st (his posted in this forum) and the visa was cleared. I haven't heard one from September interview yet.

James, Last week when Bob, Alan, and I went to the Boston City Hall to take photos for the article, everyone had to go thru the metal detector machine. At INS, only visitors go thru the metal detector machine. Employees just showed their ID to a guard and they are in. With tight security these days, the federal employees should also go thru the metal detector machine. I don't think our government know what they are doing.

I went to INS in Boston today to help my friend for info. Her temp green card will be expired in January. Since my friend's English is not good, I went there to translate for her. The INS clerk didn't want me to speak at all. First, She wanted to see her green card and then her Chinese passport. Then she asked questions to my friend. I tried to talk but the clerk told me that she just wants to talk to the person with the green card. Pretty rude.

James, I visited Angel Island over 15 years ago. Detained Chinese wrote poems on the walls to show their frustration. Maybe we should write some poems too.

Bob, Just let her give the rest of the money to her family in China. I am sure they will like the money. My fiancee doesn't have any money. So there is nothing to bring.

Your fiancee's interview date was before my fiancee's interview (9/11) and I submitted the I-129 in Dec 1 last year. I am still waiting too.
