We filed our AOS from a K-1 fiancee visa. We checked all our forms 20 times and then we check another 20 times. We made sure all info was consistent with everything we have filed before. Sent our package to the proper address along with the proper check amount. We were so ecstatic that the long journey is finally coming to an end. Four days later, we received our entire package, including our check back. Attached to our package was a I-797C Notice of Action with a big ol REJECTION NOTICE stamped in the ACTION TAKEN SECTION. Sooo.....wtf.....the I-797C said that we didn't provide the I-130. Please remit this form and the proper fees. WTF, is wrong with this picture????
I'll write the big conclusion to this fiasco a little later.

Perhaps is better to send separate checks, payable to Department of Homeland Security.
I would look at the package check list on VJ and see if you left something out.
Also did you send it to the Chicago address?

Dan....Thanks for the link. I did send it to the Chicago address. Also, visa journey says one check as well.

The current fee to file a I-485 is $325.00...Right? The current fee for the Biometrics is $70.00....Right? Soooo, $325.00 + $70.00 = $395.00...Right? Sooo, do you send in one check for $395.00 or two separate checks??? If you send in two separate checks to WHOM do you make them payable too??? If you mail in one check to whom do you make it payable too??? I mailed, per the instructions for Persons Filing Form I-485, effective April 1 2005, one check in the amount of $395.00, payable to the Department of Homeland Security. Today, I received our entire package back stating rejection. The following is what it said in part: "....Your application package was submitted with a single remittance and one or more of the applications/petitions were unacceptable in the package for the reason(s) specified on the related Notice(s) of Action (Form I-797). Please correct the flawed application(s)/petition(s), and resubmit the application package with the appropriate fees and supporting documents....." There was no Form I-797 attached. Just the entire package and my uncashed check. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated...

I have read over and over the instructions and documents that are required to submit. All I can determine is USCIS needs only a copy of her birth certificate, (certified and translated), and a certified copy of our marriage. Soooo, there is no need for her previous marriage or divorce papers....right? Another member thought we need to send those two documents as well. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Certainly, I do not want to overkill the AOS packet...

Hi Mike....yet another Chicagoan?? I sincerely hope you are from the North side, (like me), and not the south side like some other guy who post on this site.
I certainly do not want to mentioned his name as he is a very sensitive kind of guy...... 
Anyway, don't sweat the check. The only thing that is extremely important is the written amount. I had a client who wrote me a $500.00 check. However, he wrote $50,000.00 in the script section. Bank officer said he was legally obligated to pay me $50,000 even though he wrote the numbers as $500.00. Bank said the script amount, payable to who, and sig is all that matters legally on a check. BTW, being a nice guy I had the client write me a new check. Famous football player down here in Tampa with a degree from a big ten university.....go figure.....

Realize that it's wrong to state "I am filing...". The chinese beneficiary does the filing and the G-325a is about the filer; The filer needs a petitioner to provide them a I-864.. that's the only role you play in this. She signs the docs, she files the papers; you get to pay

Just trying to get a handle on the shots that are required, per the I-693 AOS medical stuff. I tried to search the three required shots on candle ...and oh well....thank goodness I can cook and not good on searches...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if I get a little off topic....Ugly as hell Trigg, his beautiful and charming wife and equally beautiful and charming daughters came to visit Yan and I. Shortly after he left, my computer was destroyed by some unknown viruses, my mini-van blew its radiator, dishwasher got fried and Minnie Mouse keeps calling me wanting his phone number.

Finally, Yan and I returned to our home in Tampa last night and my training has begun.
This morning we have been busy getting her things unpacked and reorganized. The key word here is reorganized. Although I received all kinds of kudos for the effort of planning and organizing...well lets just say the do over has begun....ooops...the famous words of husband come here. I need your help lifting a heavy object is being heard in my ears now.....

Although some of us reported that our SO's had good experiences with their respected VO's during their interview time. Some members SO's have had horrific experiences with them. Well, I found this link that you all may find interesting. Click on the survey link and submit your answers. You can see so far that there is no rating for GUZ. However, Beijing seems to have gotten a fairly decent rating, (although Beijing does not handle fiancee and marriage visas). Obviously, I do not know if this survey can or will help GUZ VO's. But, it may help in their accountability.

Yea, I thought the same thing. So, I went to "contact Us" link and requested that they add Guangzhou, China and K visas. You do not have to fill in your personal information. In addition, I read somewhere that if they get 10 plus responses they will add the information. Finally, they are a possible vehicle to help get our concerns addressed...maybe.

In Part 2 of the I-485 we checked block 'C' ......which states in part.."I entered as a K-1 fiance(e) of a United States Citizen whom I married within 90 days of entry,......"
