  1. Yes, I saw there were old forms and new forms on the internet. I used the DS-230 that expires 7/31/07. It also has an empty box on the upper left hand corner. The previous version has no box. I only sent part 1 to my SO because she gets confused with all these forms. She has the P3 but has not gotten the police report, marital status, translations or notarized stuff. I saw people were having difficulty with expirations. I still have enough time to send the P3 in now and then get those things, right? Thanks, Rick
  2. OK, I will use the xeroxed supplemental sheet. Could I also use the DS-230 forms that I got from the internet and typed the information in, or should I have her copy the information to the form GUZ sent? Thanks
  3. Yes, Thank you, that's the form I used. You guys are the best! I was able to send it to her before the P3 got there and with the chinese telegraphic code part filled out!
  4. Hello again, My P3 arrived at my SO's but there was no P3 supplemental form. I remember this well because I posted a question on the chinese telegraphic codes. Is this not used any more? If it was supposed to be there can I just use the photocopied sheet I pulled off the internet? Thank you all, Rick
  5. Thanks, I am glad I checked with you. Don't you need a return trip in order to get a Chinese visa? I thought they want to know that you have a way back and the length of your trip? But that would work, is the airfare back on a short notice expensive? Also, I thought round trip tickets were cheaper than one ways? Thanks again, Rick
  6. Hello everyone, I have seen that some of you received blueslips at the interview. How do I plan a trip for the interview? I only have 2 weeks of vacation left. Package 3 may be on the way. Where does the P4 get sent, here or there? Does it get sent in or brought to the interview? Oh Boy! I really did it good this time! Thanks for suggestions, Rick
  7. You guys are life savers! I guess I am jumping the gun a bit. Thanks, Rick My timeline. April 29, 2005 – Met online. November 4, 2005 – Submitted I-129F (received Nov. 9) November 30, 2005 – NOA2 received December 7, 2005 – NVC letter received, will send to GUZ in one week December 29, 2005 – Still waiting for P3 January 1, 2006 - Next visit to China.
  8. That clears some things up, thanks! I thought I needed tax returns in order to submit P3? What is submited with the P3 and what is brought to the interview then? Sorry for the lousy questions, I am sure are already answered here, but I leave Saturday - have no P3s - and want to bring what I need to send the P3 in with me to China. I just downloaded the Complete ZIP file of all P-3 forms for K-1 in PDF format from the link on this site. Should I worry about Form I - 864/I -864A and CR1? I will be sure to have new financials and 2005 tax returns with me, thanks! Thanks again, Rick
  9. One more question. On the I-134 question 7 - I have stocks and bonds... can I put my retirement account down on this or are they just looking for liquid assets? Also under life insurance, I have a policy through work, I do not know what they mean by a cash surrender value. Are they referring to a policy that you can cash out of here? Just checking, I left those blank. Thanks again, Rick
  10. So is it a waste of time then? In that case nevermind!
  11. I filled that out for my I-129f and I will keep using it. Other than that I do not know if it makes a difference. Some of the other guys may know.
  12. Hello All, I have received my approval notice and the NVC letter (Dec 7). The letter states that it would be forwarded a week from the letter to GUZ. My SO and I have not heard or received anything as of yet. I tried calling GUZ at (86-20) 8121-8000 and they connected me to a message with more phone numbers. I also tried 8518-7605, and 8518-7651. Am I using the right number(s)? Should I call NVC instead? Also, I am preparing forms: DS-230 part 1 for P3 and the DS-156 & DS-156k & DS-157 for the interview, and I-134. I already had my I-134 notarized. I got the letter from my employer. I have copies of my bank accounts, 3 W2's, and 3 pay stubs from work. Are W2's good enough for tax records? My 1040s are a mile long and I am missing my 2004. I do not have my 2005 W2's yet but I have my last pay stub showing my annual income. I would rather not wait for 2005 tax records, my approval is good until March and it would be alot faster without it. Am I missing something? Thanks again and Happy Holidays! Rick
  13. Thanks guys. I think that is great advice and wanted to double check.
  14. Hello everyone, I am working on the 156, 156k, and DS-230 papers while waiting for my approval notice. My SO is a little concerned with the employment question. She was a teacher at a local elementary school and quit when we met due to the treatment she was receiving from her female colleagues. She is worried that they may say bad things about her that are not true. She recently visited the school and the manager (who is also mean and a female) asked her some very personal questions and wanted to know if she was a communist party member, which she is not. She wants to write a letter to the principal (another female) reaffirming that she is not a communist party member, has paid no dues, and was not even introduced to the communist party by 2 members. I told her to not contact these people at all. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Rick My timeline. April 29, 2005 - Met online. July 9, 2005 - Visited her and stayed until August 7th. - Confirmed our feelings for one another and wanted to get married. November 4, 2005 - Submitted I-129F (received Nov. 9) January 1, 2006 - Next visit.
  15. Hi everyone, I am once again searching the site for information and had a couple more questions. I sent the I-129F packet in (received Nov. 9) and checked the Vermont Service Center processing dates (on Oct. 15). My SO finally got her birth certificate which her parents traveled to get (I still have to ask how much everything was and what bribes were paid if any). Now I am getting ready for another visit the beginning of January. Is there anything I should be thinking of bringing with me on the trip? I planned on bringing the completed I-129F packet for her. I have received the NOA but nothing else. Should I get going on the I-134 stuff or wait for the approval first? Thank you, Rick P.S. Has anyone heard from esun? My timeline. 16. That story sounds a bit like me. I ran into the wrong crowd over by the soccer stadium (especially at night). I would stay away from there. My tip would be not to look anyone in the eyes!
  17. I have read about a two year absence from the Communist Party time requirement from this site. http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/inel...ities_1364.html [link fixed by moderator] Exceptions and requirenments ii) Exception for involuntary membership.- Clause (i) shall not apply to an alien because of membership or affiliation if the alien establishes to the satisfaction of the consular officer when applying for a visa (or to the satisfaction of the Attorney General when applying for admission) that the membership or affiliation is or was involuntary, or is or was solely when under 16 years of age, by operation of law, or for purposes of obtaining employment, food rations, or other essentials of living and whether necessary for such purposes. (iii) Exception for past membership.-Clause (i) shall not apply to an alien because of membership or affiliation if the alien establishes to the satisfaction of the consular officer when applying for a visa (or to the satisfaction of the Attorney General when applying for admission) that- (I) the membership or affiliation terminated at least- (a) 2 years before the date of such application, or ( 5 years before the date of such application, in the case of an alien whose membership or affiliation was with the party controlling the government of a foreign state that is a totalitarian dictatorship as of such date, and (II) the alien is not a threat to the security of the United States. http://www.candleforlove.com/forums/index....=ST&f=7&t=10946

  19. We seem to think alike, as far as the red flags. I watch out for the worst, that way there are no surprises. I also picked someone who is a good match for me. My friends and brothers are or were in the military so I am informed and cautious. I can tell you many, many stories of people who thought they were cautious. In most cases, the person is looking for a ticket to the US and conveniently disappears when things are clear, or fools around. I don't think anyone wants their wife to make some other guy tastey food while you are away on duty! Here is the current situation. My SO's parents never expected their daughter to go to the US so they never got a birthcertificate. I talked to her and she said her mom was crying and is personally going to her birthplace, Yinchuan, by train today to get the birthcertificate. The train ride is about 1500RMB. She offered her mother her own money, but her mother said no, they are taking care of it. In fact, when I visited her (my SO), she spent her money on me. She also buys phone cards, food, bus tickets, etc. and I stay at her house, use her things and utilities. Smaller towns and certain areas are extremely corrupt. I will give you guys some more information and figures as I get them. This is a great group, thank you all! Rick
  20. OK, thanks for the comments and here is a little more info. I have not been asked to reimburse the 10,000 RMB and my SO told me not to. Like you said, it is a lot of money for a Chinese person (who is not of the rich kind) to pay. I would like to pay them, however, and offered my SO. She knows I am not "rich" and has again said not to. The big problem is, they (the government) do not keep these records (or did not used to keep or perhaps got lost or destroyed), they do not need them and they do not use them, and it is in another province. She already has a passport (this tells everything the Chinese government needs to know). She is also a teacher (her employer had all the information they needed). The deal is you have to know someone who can inturn bribe someone else so you do not have to travel and wait a long time to receive your documents, because making someone wait is their leverage. This maybe different in other parts, she was born in Yinchuan. They also know if so and so wants their birth certificate, they are getting married to a foreign person. We want to make sure things are done by the book. This K1 visa process is really affecting my SO negatively, to the point where she thinks about not coming. Why are we put through such outrageous requirenments?
  21. I forgot. I pulled the 3/4 passport photo off the brand new I-129F form (Rev. 10/26/05), that's why I was confused. http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/I-129F.pdf Specifically: 6. What Other Documents Do You Need? Give USCIS a passport-style color photograph of yourself and a passport-style color photograph of your fiancé(e), with both photos taken within 30 daysof the date of filing this petition. The photos must have a white background, be glossy, un-retouched and not mounted. The dimension of the full frontal facial image of you and your fiancé(e) in separate photos should be about one inch from your chin to the top of your hair in 3/4 frontal view. Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print the name (and Alien Registration Number, if known) on the back of each photograph. I will look at those other links, thanks.
  22. Why yes it is the Buffalo Rick. My computer blew up on me remember. It kind of works now, haha. I will send out my form tomorrow. Good hearing from you and glad everything is well! Take care, Rick
