Once they refer you to your local service outlet, you can deal with those guys yourself. If they're incompetent, try finding another one in the phonebook. There are several here in the Houston area. I've been happy with the service I've gotten from them, although the Dish billing tried to bill me three times for one installation. When I called to get it corrected, they gave me credit for one of the three installations. They figured I should be happy with the one credit. Anyway, they have switched over from the old Super Dish setup to the Dish 1000+, and also use different satellites. They have different satellites serving different parts of the country. For the south, the Great Wall package comes from the 118.5 satellite, which is polarized to separate it from the 119 satellite. They use a specialized LNB to pick up both.

Some (over 500) interesting pictures at http://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.a...ventId=81973004 Jan 2021 check at https://www.olympic.org/beijing-2008 http://i37.tinypic.com/2i23rbm.jpg http://i36.tinypic.com/9pvwwy.jpg

Wanna know who won? B) Yeah - that's an ongoing problem whenever they tape-delay the olympics to have it on in prime time. The often condense the time in order to get everything to fit. I remember once when the showed the athletes during an event, afterward, and again for the medal ceremony - at least 3 changes of clothes within 5 TV minutes. Hopefully, it'll be better this year with so many different (NBC) stations covering it.

Sounds like an approval to me... Just a note for others who find themselves in this situation needing proof of residency/ownership, but unable to redo mortgage. You also have an opton to do a quick-claim deed. This will be filed with your county and change ownership on the deed from you to you and your wife. Then you have a document to submit which shows valid ownership of the property. This is actually more binding than a mortgage. Also, most mortgage companies generally won't add someone to the mortgage unless they are already on the deed, but this can also be done during closing. I did this for Lisa's original AOS. Made it super easy. That would be a Quitclaim deed

documentary on China tonight at 10:00PM ET
Randy W replied to ken88's topic in The Middle Kingdom - 中国
Primetime - the global transformation underway in China; how China is using its growing wealth, power and influence. -
The stamp is optional - most don't give you one. Most don't take the EAD card, though. Her saying that the card will come after the "check" says you may not get it right away. But the fact that she took the card says that it might. Maybe InfoPass time? They should be able to tell you the exact status of your case - if the card has been approved or what. Watch the USCIS case status page, also.

ah, my mistake, I didnt realize it was for a 10 year... 2 or 10 - they get the same treatment Many LPR's go 2 weeks or longer without an Id while waiting for their new green card to arrive
-
Yes - very different. In general, there will NOT be a letter about the 10 year card, you will NOT get a passport stamp, and the EAD card will NOT be taken. Some IO's DO take the EAD and leave the applicant without ANY federal identification - and without the stamp.
-
I didn't notice that the first time I read your post - your wife won't have any US gov't-issued I'd until the green card arrives - let's hope it's soon.
-
The "check" would be the FBI background check. But they are not supposed to be waiting for that anymore, figuring that they can always rescind the green card if she turns out to be a subversive. So you may be seeing the green card by the end of the year or sooner. We are launching our 2nd inquiry this year, since we've been told it's sitting on someone's desk waiting to be signed off.
-
Your choice. They have been known to require a tax return from someone who wouldn't otherwise have filed
-
You can file a late return. There is no penalty, since you owe no money. The 1040X is used only to amend a previously filed return.
-
This sounds familiar - the catch would come when exiting China - she may be required to show how she would enter the US, or could she still use her old green card here?

Yes - American citizens can go up there at any time by showing their passport to the guard on the fourth floor. If you wait anywhere else, you might find yourself forgotten about. There are 2 security checks on the fifth floor - go to the one on the right. The one on the left is for visa applicants. Once past the checkpoint, the American citizens and Chinese citizens can mix in front of the restrooms, which are common to both areas.

I wish I could help more... You're in good company there - let's hope it turns out for the better

What do you think Rob? You are definitely more at a pro at this than I! (I haven't graduated yet... ) Administrative processing. Don't call us, we'll call you (unless we forget)

http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=124324 Take a copy of this memo with you when you go to the SSW office http://www.kamya.com/ssn/em00154.pdf
-
The EAD is the Work Authorization in the meantime, good for one year everytime you renew it . The SSN is good for things like bank accounts, and tax rebates.
-
You were flat-out lied to, Chris. Go back with a copy of the SSA's internal memo about K-1's (I can find it tonight if someone else doesn't). Or better yet, just go to another office where they might know what they're doing. (but still take the memo) Yes - married K-1's are eligible for an SSN.
