  1. The question was "Who is being negative about what?" This topic is too wrapped around nothing to really answer anything.
  2. Hacking into publicly available documents is a novel concept. Hating the media is not.
  3. from the article So "Roger's belief that there is going to be an EXPLOSION in China" is actually a direct quote from a prominent Chinese political writer, and not Roger's belief at all. The article also states "But nearly all of the media have been unanimous on one positive point: Average Chinese citizens are immensely proud of these Olympics." So WHO is being negative about WHAT here ??
  4. Good luck ! http://www.cynchronicity.com/smileys/coffeesteam.gif
  5. . . . so Jesse may get his medal redistribution after all.
  6. There's one more possibility. The renewal fee for an EAD card is $340 IF the I-485 was filed under the OLD fee structure. These people seem upset about having to pay an additional fee. That would happen if the I-485 (NOT the EAD) was filed before July 30, 2007, regardless of how many times it is renewed. Yes it is Outrageous, but yes they're probably stuck with it. Of course they can go to court and possibly get a free EAD, but not very likely.
  7. It should arrive within 90 days. If not, you can get a stamp in your passport through an InfoPass appt. I think most are closer to 60 days.
  8. What may be obvious to you Randy, doesn't even make it to the radar screen for many others. It appears that Western television has nothing better to do than complain about something that is a complete non-issue. So, would it make the supporters feel better if the Chinese Gymnastics team were stripped of its gold medals and had them given to the US in a humbling ceremony? It's such an arrogant display of poor sportsmanship. US media should be ashamed and so should those who buy into the sour-grapes. The young Chinese woman that took the bronze in the all-around competition was so humble and gracious after she completed her competition. Rather than whining about what should have happened she said that she was proud to receive the bronze because the US women were much better than her. I doubt those words got any air-time on NBC or any other US network. No? Try Google's radar screen. The IOC is ONLY claiming to have looked at the passports. Your medal redistribution scenario is very unlikely.
  9. "But online records listing Chinese gymnasts and their ages that were posted on official Web sites in China, along with ages given in the official Chinese news media, seem to contradict the passport information, indicating that He and Jiang may be as young as 14." http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/07/27/sports/OLY.php
  10. That's our Dave ! http://www.cynchronicity.com/smileys/flamed.gif Good characterization , but he's not ready to re-tire yet!
  11. The medical exam was part of her file that your wife carried from GUZ to the POE. It will be there at the interview. You do not need another one if it is less than 1 year old at the time you file.
  12. If you wake up in a tub of ice, check your kidneys! B)
  13. This covers "means-tested" benefits only - "Federal means-tested benefits currently include SSI (Supplemental Security income), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), food stamps, Medicaid, and State Child Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP). State and local means-tested benefits vary by jurisdiction. Earned benefits such as Social Security retirement, Unemployment Compensation, and Workman¡¯s Compensation" are not included. The USCIS does not actively participate in any collection effort. http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/AffSuppAFM062706.pdf
  14. Do you really think the IOC and FIG took a good long, hard look at this issue involving the host country, especially THIS host country, in the run-up to these Olympics? Do you really think they did any real digging? I don't. I think they found what they needed to find in order to spare China any embarrassment and for the IOC/FIG to be able to say they investigated and put it behind them. What they did is obvious - they looked at the passports and saw the birthdates that were printed. There is plenty of evidence, both here and other places, that they competed at the ages of 12 and 13 less than 2 years ago. If the IOC doesn't want to look, they won't.
  15. If I understand the situation there, there would be other people in the building who also have keys

  19. If all he had to do was run, he could have run (or walked) as slowly as he needed to to finish. But he also would have had to jump the hurdles, which could have done some serious damage
