  1. "Where did you get the EMS info?" The number is on the EMS label your lady sent to GUZ with the P3 forms she completed. Jeff
  2. That is strange, I have never heard of anybody getting through to GUZ on the phone. You're pretty safe in the information you get from the DOS, that is when they give it to you. Jeff
  3. RickR. Just take a breath, our P4 was supposedly sent on 4-14, but we did not receive it until 4-25. Make your plans with the date the DOS gave you, you'll be fine. Jeff
  4. Thanks for posting the pictures and descriptions! At least now I have an idea as to what I am looking for. We will be there in a couple of weeks and are planning on staying at the same place. Good luck to you and your lady! Think Pink! Jeff
  5. Yes, we will be there the week before. The interview is on 5-21. Jeff
  6. Hi jp2008, You're not the only one in the black hole of GUZ. I called the DOS on 4-15 to see if my fiancee had an interview date scheduled yet. I was told yes, the interview was scheduled for 5-21 at 7:15AM and the P4 packet was sent out the day before on 4-14. I thought, well, that's wonderful! Just to be sure I called the next day and was told the exact same thing. I just checked the EMS tracking number a few minutes ago and it still shows "no information". So there must be a pile of EMS packages dated 4-14 sitting in a dimly lit corner at GUZ. Maybe, if we hold our breath at the same time someone will send them out today! I would think by now all of us have learned to have some patience with the system, I know I have. Good luck! Jeff
  7. Congratulations!!! Another pink!!! Lets keep it going!!!
  8. Congratulations!!! Do you mind if I ask, did you write any type of letter to the VO? If so did you cover the fact that you had visited China only one time and why? Jeff
  9. I have been calling the DOS almost everyday for the last week or so. I have yet to wait more than 1 minute. Most of the time a "real live person" answers right after the "this call may be monitored" warning. I have called at varying times from 9:00AM to 4:15PM. I was quite surprised as to how easy it was to get through and how polite and helpful the people were. Give it a try! Jeff
  10. Thanks Mike! By the area code that appears to be a Washington AC number, I guess I'll give it a try tomorrow. Jeff
  11. Hi Guys, Other than waiting for the P4 to arrive, how can you find out the interview date? It would be nice to have a date asap in order to make travel arrangements. Thank you! Jeff
  12. Hi Guys, Qingyun recieved the P3 packet today from Guangzhou but it only has 1 OF-169 English, 1 OF-169 Chinese and 1 DS-230 English in it. Doesn't she need to submit these forms for her 5 year old son also? Can she just make copies of these or do they have to be original forms? Thank you! Jeff
  13. Welcome to America Wendy! Good Luck to both of you! Jeff
  14. Congratulations Dylan and Wendy!!! Thanks for the info and pictures! Jeff
  15. Hi Guys, I just wanted to update this thread with our experience on obtaining a Japanese police report. Recently Qingyun took a copy of the I-797 ( NOA2 ) letter, that I had emailed to her, a copy of the OF-169 letter she found online and her passport, and went to the Japanese Consulate. With a little persuading they made the application, took her finger prints and told her it would take 2 to 3 months to receive! I expected the need for this police report was going to delay her Guangzhou interview, based on the experiences of others I have read. I guess you just never know how much trouble obtaining a police report from the Japanese Consulate will be!!! We got lucky!!! Thanks for your input! Jeff
  16. How did Xiaofeizhu go about and do that? Right now our petition is at the NVC so the Guangzhou consulate does not know we exist. If you have a way of getting it sooner I would love to hear details. Thanks Jeff
  17. Hi Wendy, Qingyun is probably not going to have an interveiw for 4 to 6 months, how long do you plan on being in this apartment? Thank you, Jeff
  18. Hi, I asked Qingyun to go to the Japanese consulate in Dalian with a copy of the NOA2 letter, to ask if it was good enough to request a police report. The paragraphs below were the response I received. The top is mechanical translated and the bottom is the original. My understanding is they want the P3 letter. Am I correct? If so, I plan to suggest that as soon as she receives the P3 packet that she goes to the Japanese consulate and applies for the police report. Then after she has applied, wait one month before sending in the P3 packet to Guangzhou. I think that way the police report should arrive in time for the interview. Does this sound like a rational plan or am I missing something? Thanks Jeff I went to the Japanese Consulate, was just proficient. I knew that you are sleeping now. Is this, a US Embassy draws up letters. In this letters P3 has. The Japanese Consulate's staff said; This letters opening has my name. Sex, date of birth. The letters form had not stipulated. The content is asks the Japanese Police headquarters to open me in Japan duration of work non-crime proof. Then has US Embassy's seal. (script) about this process 3 months. If it and P3 come together. The time is without enough time. jeff; Invites you Is thinking that has better means? . Let it before P3. 19. "I am glad that the Chinese are smarter than the American retailers. Every shop had a stool or couch for the husband to sit on while the wife shops." I know exactly what you are talking about! You've just got to love the Chinese! Jeff
  20. Thank you for your replies, I have read most of the links provided in the past. Is it the P3 letter the Japanese consulate wants to see before they will help? My fiancee lives in Dalian, which is probably 2000 miles from Guangzhou, but it does have a Japanese Consulate. I'm hoping she will be able to get the police report there. I just don't want to send her on a wild goose chase with no ammo. Jeff
  21. Hi, I have searched this subject on this site and VJ with no clear answer, maybe someone can clear things up for me. My fiancee worked in Japan for 2 years during the 90's. I understand she will need a police report from Japan, which is available through a Japanese consulate in China. This is where things are unclear, exactly what paperwork will she need at the Japanese consulate to obtain her police report? If anyone here has gone through this process, please help us! Jeff
