I am wondering about the 156 forms in chinese and english. have an attorney helping me and he says we only need two copies of the 156 in english only.

I've been in China since May. Thought I would be here for the interview but I have to return before the interview in late Sept.
Won't be able to return.

I'm just glad to finally quit calling DOS but i do plan when this is all over to find out a little more information about how this process is done. there has to be some guidelines, policy, proceedure.

Congratulations.
Guangzhou is doing it the way they have been doing it. The question is, are they going to do more as we see the numbers coming down to their range we had for April interviews. Note how they are getting into the 30 day notice group. Note also the gap is still within the 30 day range of notification from the longest to shortest P3-P4 of 129 to 98 days waits. If we see a drop to 80 days, this will be new.
Here are all the September interviews so far. (Sorted in P3 date or P3 received order).
The first numbered column is P3 computer entry to P4 number of days.
The second numbered column is P3 received (or P3 letter date) to P4 number of days
The third column is P3 to Interview number of days.
The fourth column is the number of days notice, or P4 to Interview.

As I have been saying, they appear to keep you in order of when they first get your papers from NVC, or the date on your P3 letter.

when all this is done maybe i'll take some time and explore the process a little better.
i still think the interview date will be pretty soon based on the folks getting their dates.
for sure your estimates have been of great help and encouragement when i need something solid to measure with.

my email from guanzhou in april said i was in line, waiting for interview date, but when i asked when the 2nd namecheck was done-- just a few days ago--i was told it was complete may 16.
i think it must be that until the namecheck is done, you arent in line even tho the canned response says so.
this would make sense and probably would be a better measure of interview dates. i was relying on the date of the P3, but it obviously had nothing to do with the interview date.

P3 returned and received in Guangzhou by March 28th as verified by the email from them.
the namecheck completed may 16th as verified by DOS

I guess what i meant was our name checks were completed around the same time.mine was may 16th

at least we know we are slower beacause our second name checks occured after most of the others. maybe that will help your so to know there is some reason to this.

I have been reviewing posts and for those who mention dates of second name check ----it seems that is the date they must schedule the interview date from.
I see several folks still waiting for interviews that have 2nd name checks in late may.
It seems our interviews will be well after this first wave--- as most of those 2nd name checks of folks with interviews already scheduled were completed in April.
Am I just kidding myself or does this seem to be the case?

Totally bummed. Called DOS. Told me 2nd name check completed 5-16-05 an NO INTERVIEW DATE YET!

i cannot get thru to dos. the phone number seems to be messed up.

There has to be a policy and proceedure manual somewhere. choosing dates has to be done in some type of order, even if it makes no sense to that order. any government agency has to have some type of guidelines.
i am wondering how they choose the order of interviews.

Our P3 was returned around the 18th of March and still no interview. They say we are waiting to be assigned an interview date so hang in there!

Thanks for the quick response. I will just wait it out another week and see if anything happens. I just cant help notice that most of the P4's are going out to dates after mine so am getting a little concerned.
