  1. We thought it would be quicker once she became a citizen.. Seems logical.. How do we opt out of F1?
  2. Been a while since I have been here. My wife has been here now for long time. She became a citizen this past April. All is going well. One question however.. We applied for her son to come maybe 5 years ago. We hear little or nothing from USCIS. We were told when she became a citizen it would speed up the process. The only number we have comes up as not a good number. So, does it take this many years, with very little communication? He is now 28 years old... Appreciate any suggestions. Jim
  3. THANK YOU!! you are always so helpful...
  4. I am wondering if this I-751 is the form used to obtain the 10 year green card after the 2 year green card expires. We have no problems and really don't need to adjust anything. Just want to be legal for the next 10 year period. So.. we need to use this form I-751?? Correct?? Hope all is well with everybody in your pursuit of happiness!!
  5. My wife arrived and entered without any problems. Yeah!! She was told her green card would arrive in 3-4 weeks. Well tomorrow is the 4th week and nothing yet. Should we be concerned or is this normal? How long should I wait before calling them? Her SS card came the 2nd week but so far no green card.. Hope all is well in your world!! Jimu
  6. Want to thank all of you that helped me through this process over the last few years, you know who you are.. There are some here who selflessly give of themselves to those of us in our confusing and at times desperate process of legal immigration...She is finally here!! TAHNKS AGAIN NEW QUESTION... My wife's son who is 24 years old would like to come here.. She has been told by Chinese friends it could take up to 9 years.. Is this true? What is the process or where can I go to find some info? .Appreciat some guidance.. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Jimu
  7. this is Jimu07.. thanks for your response..You say yours was sent about the same time as ours. Have you heard anything?? I see other that left NVC later than 8/22/11 and are already scheduled. Is this done at random or in order?? I am just curious and abit impatient.. Thanks for your thoughts.. Jimu

  8. Yes it is a CR-1 application.. I guess I am just being impatient. Maybe we will get our appointment in Nov. Was hoping for an October date.. I think this week is a holiday week in China so no progress until Oct 1st. Thanks noblett and new member for your response. Jimu
  9. Hello everyone.. here once again.. Not sure how that posted but... anyway.. We got a letter saying all was sent to GUZ Aug 22nd. Havn't heard a thing since then.. A Sept 13 was posted as our priority date.. What does that mean and is the wait normal? They say don't contact them, they will contact us...Maybe I am just worrying a little too much??? So hope all is well with everyone... Thanks to those who always give us guidance here.. Jimu
  10. Our application is now at NVC in Portsmouth NH.. Glad we made it this far.. I have paid all the fees,$88 and $404... I am not sure what is next. Will I get a letter or something with the instructions for the next phase? I know this is probably something simple but I am puzzled at what to do next.. Six months and we are this far, hopefully the rest moves swiftly.. Thanks for any help or suggestions...Good luck to all of you and enjoy the spring weather.. Jimu
  11. Got a decision our I-130 was approved and sent to NH.. Is this normal procedure? First went to Chicago, then laguna Niguel, CA now HW, quite the tour..My wife is patiently waiting.. What should we expect next? Hope all is well.. Stay positive and focussed! Jim
  12. I have applied for a CR-! I did send in the 325 A with the CR-1 application, but apparently they want it again.. Maybe I made a mistake the first time. So I am being very detailed this time. I think I have not been assigned alien registration number yet.. Thanks for your help Dan...
  13. I want this to be correct. The form is asking for an alien registration number. I believe we don't have this at this stage. Our only number is a receipt number which begins with WAC....... Should I leave this blank...?? Got a bad cold this week.. Hope you are all well. Happy New Year! Jim
  14. Just got a letter saying that my wife and i did not fill out the G-325 A form correctly and want us to re-submit.. I don't know what we could have done wrong as it seems simple and self evident. Any tips or info on this form.. She is in China, we got masrried there this past July.. She was here last year on a fiance visa but returned quickly as her son was in a very bad accident.. She is an accountant and contracts her services to different companies. She also makes and sells jewelry. She has lived in her own apt. for more than 5 years, I have my home here in US for many years now.. I am retired.. Just to make sure..who is applicant, who is petitioner?? I am petitioning on her behalf, correct?? Ok.. Here it is Christmas Eve... Hope you are fine wherever you are!! Enjoy the time and as always thanks for the help here!! Merry Christmas and Happy New year!! Jimu
  15. Hello to all here in this great forum.. Happy Holidays to you and yours!! If you remember my Ling came here on fiance visa in 2009 and had to return quite quickly as her son was in a terrible scooter accident.. We did not get married at that time. This summmer we spent together in her city of Liuzhou and got married.. I returned and sent in our 130 form and received a I-797C dated Sept 13,2010.(priority date) I have not hear from them at all.. Online it says the timeline is 5 months.. I guess my question is, "Does this seem normal?" One would think being as though they have processed our fiance visa the previous year it might be faster this time.. Would love any input or ideas that might move this thing along... Or maybe I just have to wait until they get around to our case once again... Hope all is well in everybody's life.. Until later.. Jimu
  16. Thank You everybody for your thoughts and info.. Always great help here! Sending off my package now.. Enjoy the day! Jimu
  17. I am putting together my Cr-1 package now that I am home from China. We are now married in China, finally . I have filled out the I-130 and I-129 petitions, also signed the G 325 form as well as the G-1145 notification of application acceptance form.. Ok.. so I want to do this correctly, I am not sure do I send the 129 and 130 in the same envelope together, that makes sense to me but I am not a gov t worker. What else should I make sure I send off to Chicago. I have a check for 355USD, Is now the time to send copies of birth certificate and fotos of each other?? As alaways you know I really apprecite everybody's help here. Happy Labor Day week-end to you all!! Enjoy.. Jimu
  18. Good day to everyone here, hope all is well in each and everybody's world.. I am in China and we have gotten married, will return the end of Aug and will send out the I-130.. Two questions I have, First do I have to still send the I-129 as well or is that now obsolete? Second since the electronic processing has begun what seems to be the average timeline for completion. I know thet vary but am curiouus if it is faster now. Thanks for any input or advice.. Best wishes and happiness to all of us. Jimu
  19. No..Yao Yu is 22 years old.. We will deal with his entry at a later date
  20. Hello again to everyone here... I posted here for a long time off and on before.. I am here again .... My fiance was here this past summer and had to quickly return to China as her son was in a bad accident.. We did not get married before she left, it all happened too quickly. We are still very much in love and I plan to go to China soon and we will marry there... What course of action would you recomend.. CR-1 or K-3?? I don't quite understand the difference.. any suggestions?? Do you think there will be any problems as we already had a K-1 visa before? I would also like to say to everybody, the connection I see between chinese women and their children has depths that I, as an American have never seen before.. I have learned to honor this... Hope you all have a good day!! Jim
  21. Greetings to All!! After 16 slow months and a few bumps in the road my Ling finally got her Pink and will pick up her visa today.. We are very happy! Thanks again for those of you that helped during this process. We truly appreciate it. Now we begin the process here at home. I am sure we will be back with more questions. Ling is leaving behind her 22 year old son who she loves dearly, her home which she has worked hard for as a single mom, an incredible family, and a group of friends like I have never seen. I am sure we will want to visit China within the year if possible. Good Luckto those of you waiting, just give the embassy whatever they want, be positive and believe in your cause.. and of course love one another!! Until Later, Jim
  22. Once Ling is here and we are married what is the first thing we should do. Is there a educational site where I can learn the next set of procedures to make everything legal? This is never ending, huh?? One door closes as another opens.. That's life, right.. I never realized immigration was such a ride.. Would appreciate a push in the right direction. Thank you, Jim
  23. Over the weekend Ling and I went over the letter she received from the embassy. The box is not checked that says congragualtions you have been approved. The other box says you will be approved if you comply with the following checked boxes.. The boxes checked ask for new police report and unmarried certificate if she arrives after June 10th. The paper is not dated or signed by anyone. She will go May 10th ne month before June 10th to G-zhou.. We hope she will be approved at that time. If she has been approved why did they not check the box that says Congragualtions you have been approved? Is this normal? Maybe we have celebrated prematurely...
  24. Very Happy for you!! We know the good feeling. Enjoy Life!! Jim
