  1. Sorry to hear of your situation benc. Our government cannot control who we marry. I was also denied over 2 years ago but I got married anyway, in China. You have this choice as well. When your fiancee receives the official notice, it will only state the non bonafide relationship reason with no other details as to why they came to this conclusion. What service center did your original petition go through here in the states? My service center is vermont.
  2. thx everyone. I can see I have a hard road ahead of me. One thing I really don't understand is how is it possible that they can say that there is no bono fide relationship? My parents know her and accepts her as their daughter-in-law. Everyone I know, knows we have a relationship. I have provide everything I have to prove that. I don't think I left out anything that would cause a denied. What more do they need? I have called peter's office, the lady on the other end took my info but seem their lawyers are busy at the time. I left the lady a # to call my fianc¨¦, but as of now no call back. Which make me more frustrated.
  3. Thx, this is a K1. My fiancee did not receive the offical letter yet. This is really frustrating to know that my goverment control who i can marry or not. i just feel my rights as a US citizen have been violated. when she receive the official paper work, would it indicate the reason they denied the visa?
  4. i just got this from Guangzhou. what the next step i need to do ? Please be assured that your fianc¨¦ was given a very fair and thorough interview. When looking at the totality of the circumstances surrounding your relationship there was not enough substantial evidence to support your claims of a bono fide and true relationship. Your petition will be send back to the U.S. for possible revocation. To respond to this email, use only the web form at www.usembassy-china.org.cn/guangzhou/iv/email.html. E-mails sent via "reply" will not be received. anyone have a really good lawyer that i can call.. please provide me with the #. thx nm, i just found the number for Peter E. Paget, i just hope he can stop the petition and fix whatever the issue is. just called them right after i got this bad news email. Shamian Street, No. 39, 1/F Guangzhou 510130 P.R.C. tele # 011-86-20-8121-6200 or 011-86-20-8121-9931 mobile # 1350-3024-157 fax # 011-86-20-8121-7013 Practice is limited to immigration law and consular practice
  5. Nope, still waiting. i email them every 9 business days with no response. don't really know if they get the email or not or they just chose to ignore it. there must be other contacts ore # that i can get some answers. if i don't hear any response by novemeber. i plan to take a trip to GUZ and got up there on ACH and see what's going on. i just hope they can provide me some answer and not just tell me i'm still in review or processing.
  6. I'm in the same boat also. interview was in april, overcome letter was in may and i'm still waiting. sorry to heard that you got a blue slip. Hope your next interview date is alot shorter than mines. As of today.. it has been 4 months after interview date. 3 month after sending a overcome letter. Email for a response every 8 days because they will not email me back with any status. why can't GUZ be like ins in USA, where u can go on teh website and find out the status ( processing date ) This wait is stressing me out.

I hoping that i'm wrong also.. but as i see its been the trend. as of now, is been almost a month now that i have sent the overcome letter. Still waiting for relpy or a another appointment date. Jeff I hope your doing well.. How is the wife and the new son? Good Luck to you.. BTW: waiting at the coffee stand for the result is a killer. I certainly hope you're incorrect. I was divorced 30 years ago after a very short marriage. I have the certificate of divorce. But, there's no way I can get more evidence. I don't even know if my ex-wife is still alive.

Jeff, when u went back yp with the overcome letter, do u have to show them your ex-spouse utilitie bill? to vertified address?
  11. the answer for some of the question is on both of our divorce paper. that's all the evidence they need.. the only thing that is not on the divorce paper is "Why did it ended "
  12. The Blue sheet only ask about both of our relationship. Only 3 things the VO ask for : Locations and social security numbers of ex-spouse. Why marriages ended How long these marriages lasted he didn't ask to provide any evidence.

The same thing that you have to do but from both of us. Anyway, how is Yan and you doing? is she and her son adjusting to their new enviroment? At least they sent her something. What do they want? I hope it is good.
  14. how much detail do i need to provide to the vo ?? and do i have to write a few pages? or is 1 page ok?

Today, they sent her a pink and blue sheet . i think the embassy now determines that if you and your fiancee have divorced, they will automaticlly give u a blue sheet to provide more evidents.
  16. Can some one tell me the procedure the consulte take when your received a so call "Blue Slip"? What is the exact flow process?
  17. You have had your interview : Yes They discovered 3 names for you ? Yes Not disclosed on documents ? Yes Blue Slip - Further investigation that's all they wrote
  18. they did a check and picked up my chinese name that i really don't use anymore. that is one thing they told my SO in the interview. all my documentation have my english name on it. even my us citizenship papers. When my lawyer prepare the documents.. all my info was my english name so my lawyer put NONE on the I-129f form where it indicate if u have any other name. She put None. When the VO did a background check on me.. it show up as 3 names. so that's why i want to correct the form. AKA for who? Unless it's a prior (or current) "legal" name (and not a nickname), then no need... don't complicate name issues; both should use their legally given name.
  19. Is there a place i can call or email to correct a error on a I-129F form once it has been processed?

don't know. I guess we have to wait the 3 months. i just got back to the states today. didn't want to hang in Guangzhou any longer. ( Bad memories). i didn't even get that white sheet u got to overcome anything. if they let me overcome it when i was there.. i have all the proof right there with me.. I told my girl to call (Peter) the lawyer off ice on the 1st floor to see what he can do for us. BTW: Notorize in USA is 2 bucks, Notorize in US Embassy ( GuangZhou ) is 30 bucks. i found that out the hard way. anyway.. good luck to u and your fiancee. She speaks Cantonese. so make sure u get the language pda. good luck with everything.. i'll be on the fourm, just incase u need a translator..

Grats Dave, but for me was a different story. Once u left.. i waited till 12:00pm then she came down with a blue sheet. My Girl also had the same VO as yours did. They gave her a sheet indicating the same issue u have. but my is more complicated due to her divorce 2 times. The other thing pop up that i did not realize. They told her i have 3 aka names. i though to myself what 3 names, then i realize that they were indicating my chinese name. Soi got a double wammy. The sheet indicated that it will be back to review and now is going to take another 3 months. So are they going to tell me that they will not give to me.. or r they really going to re-investigate this. I have proof of all they asking for.. but did not get a sheet to overcome.
  22. Yes, that is the way it is at the Consulate in Guangzhou. You first get your PP checked at the 4th floor portal. You take the escalator to the 5th floor and go through the security/metal detector checks and then go into the large waiting room. You then form up in a line at one of the windows, where a clerk will check your PP again, and issue you a call number and the standard form which you fill out with all of your petitioner/ beneficiary data, and GUZ case number, as well as the subject matter of your question. You then take a seat with the mixed group of both those who are there for evidence for overcome action and those who are there for ACH. As you noted, they recently moved the starting time one hour, now at 3:00 p.m. It always started at 2:00 in the past. Similar to the configuration of the DMV offices in Calif, you then take a seat and wait until your number is called on the PA system, directing you to one of the dozen or more bank style security windows. Each window has a lighted number above it. Then you meet one-on-one with an agent/VO, who will address your question. Yes, it is individual and not a group therapy session. As my wife lives in Guangzhou, and her office is just minutes from the Consulate, I have been able to attend the ACH three times now, in the past twelve months; each time with a question over Lao Po and/or our daughter. Just returned home this evening. thx.. but i might of went to the wrong area. right after the the secutity check on the 5th floor.. i was set to the big room. i ask wher was the ACh, and the security guard told me to go to the left room the one pass the security check. the room is small with a few rows of chairs in the back. there was no forms to be fill out. al there is was a windows to hand in your passport and just wait to be called ( by name ). unless u r speaking of the big room, where i saw lots of people. but i did not see a form anywhere. but anyway is done. i will give my passport to my Fiancee when she heads to her interview on Wednesday. while i was up on the 5th and my finacee was waiting for me at the cafe. she over heard 2 couples pass with pink slip. but they also menton that one of their friend got a blue due to a few trick question that was answer incorrectly.
  23. I just went to ACH at the Embassy at 3:00-4:00. the question that i have is that i thought it was like a group session. But instead when i go there i had to hand in my passport at one windows, and wait to be call to a another window to as my question 1 on 1. Is this how it is? am i in the right place?
  24. Thx alot for all the information. i'm off to the airport in a few hours. why do i get the feeling that i forgot something? i triple check with the check list last night. weird.
