  1. It has been a week since GZ returned to work from Chinese new year. Has anyone recieved any confirmation from GZ that their cases have been cleared? It seems to me that they could have entered all 1,200 clearance by now. Anyone?
  2. Ok. I think I just broke the record by being placed on hold for around 90 minutes. or there are longer waits? anyways, bad news. I tried to ask her what code is currenly used for my case and she got angry by this question. well, hope next week will be a better week.
  3. have you been to the underdeveloped areas in China?
  4. Hi, AZwolfman, per your conversation with your source at CA, have they seen clearance for people with later interview dates, like in December, as well? thanks!
  5. I don't know what to say. But mose of the non-immigrant visa applicants in China are still getting their visas same day. This is exactly what I have witnessed. But you have the right to believe what you want to believe.
  6. K-1 and K-3 visas are non-immigrant visas. Yes. They are techincally non-immigrant visas. But, hey, you know better than anyone else that they are different from other non-immigrant.
  7. no, they only conduct security checks for non-immigrant cases randomly. As a matter of fact, most the of non-immigrant visa applicants are getting their visas around 1 hour after the interview.
  8. Any news for people interviewed in December? Could anyone say for sure that GZ will send a namecheck request around the time of the interview? thanks.
  9. Dear Texan: Getting ready to crash cause I am really beat. But let me try to answer you briefly. The 1200 names were from people who were submissions in November and December. Some of them were people who were recently given interviews, some have yet to have interviews, and some were from Black Hole people who were resubmitted in November/December. Problem is, GZ people really did not go back to work until the 10th, the day we were there, even though the Consulate reopened on the 6th. We pressed him to look up some the data, and he tried, but most had yet to be entered into the data base. What they received from DOS/FBI was a long list of name is no logical order. So the entire name list has to be entered into the GZ database. For example, he tried to look up my case and couldn't find it. Yet because it was a November resubmit, he said it was possible that it was on the list. They just started entering the names on the 10th. Wish I could be more specific but thats all the data on those 1200 we had to go on. Looks like FBI does the checks in a lotto fashion, no rhyme or reason. Will update sometime tomorrow. I am still in a lot of pain. Li and I were involved in a severe bus accident on the way to GZ. Brakes failed coming down a hill, took out a toll booth and ran over a Toyota. At least one fatality. I suffered sprained shoulder and bruised ribs. Still in pain. Hope this helps some. Will try to post more detail in AM. Mick, Hope you are getting better! best wishes.
  10. I think you misunderstood JonInDenver. He got the good news from his source inside DOS, not from the infamouse hotline. If I am right, probably someone found the name on the cleared list (piece of paper that ready to be sent to GZ) for JonInDenver. GZ is to be working on this clearance. Please correct me if I am wrong, JonInDenver. Thanks.
  11. Yeah, but one could imagine most of the employees there have asked 2/6 and 7 off to make the vacation a whole week, which is quite understandable. I know I would do the same thing.
  12. Hi, Myles, I believe you are talking about different things here when I see the words of "National visa center".
  13. It really does NOT make any sense that they are only performaing checks on a very small percentage of non-immigrant visa applicants, but all immigration visa applicants.
  14. Bill, hope that you will get the good news by this week. Keep us posted. Vince
  15. it's impossible to get through the line today. They will only take calls for an hour on Wednesday.
  16. the 5,000 clearance claim is really hard to believe.
  17. obviously, the "will be cleared in two weeks" promise is nothing but a promise.
  18. Hi, Anyone interviewed in December and still don't have the visa yet? I called DOS and was told that the namecheck was submitted one day before the interview. Anyone has similiare experience? Thanks!
  19. it was an individual PC, not the system. Another person checked it for me just now.
  20. I spoke with CA again today (not the info line) and I asked about another batch of name clearances being sent to GZ. NO! no more large batches sent. GZ has not finished the batch it has now. From now on, they will only be sent to GZ as normal. Remeber, GZ is working the 5100 into the weekends and some during the regular hours. Everything else is being worked as normal operating proceedure. NOP But from my calculations this doesnt make much sense. If in fact they process 20,000 IV in GZ a year (correct me if Im wrong) from Aug. 1 untill Dec. 1 is 4 months that would be approx. 6,660 IV's backlogged. If 5,100 were sent to GZ in bulk then about 1,560 are still floating around somewhere. thanks for the clarification, Mark. I think ur calculation is somewhat accurate. Assuming GZ normally interviews 100 applicants, with 90 of them require namecheck (10 are children under 16) and GZ works 20 days per month. Then from August to December, there would be around 9,000 namechecks.
  21. received by GZ this week. as the title suggested, this is unconfirmed rumor.
