new Visa Call Center

Recommended Posts

Ok, I understand the time delay in sending our file from NVC to GUZ and to get the P3. During this wait, I emailed GUZ to find out how to do an address change, they responded quickly, and I followed their directions to fax it. The email also directed me to use the call the Visa Call Center from now on for further infor about our case.

However, everytime we call, they tell us nothing. Cant even see our #. Cannot find out any information at all. They cant even tell me if the address has been changed, or if the fax has been recieved, etc. Really, for a service we pay for, they are not at all helpful.

Has anyone had any good experience with the Call Center? Is their information accurate with the consulate system? Any suggestions? :clapping:

Is the number you called (202) 663-1225 ??

168179

No, this is not the NVC, this is the Consulate Visa Call Center in GUZ that the consulate has listed on their webpage. The China # is 8621 38814611. This is a pay service and you have to sign up on the webpage at www.usavisainformation.com.cn

You need your case #, and need to get a pin #.

Ok, thanks for clarifying.

p.s.  the number I gave was for the State Department Visa Office in Washington D.C.

Do you get any help at that #? If yes, what can they tell you?

168185

They would tell you nothing..

i've already tried..the person at NVC call centre told me that once the case's been sent off to GZ they would have no idea about the later on story about the case at all.

I was asked to call them by NVC. They couldn't even find my GUZ# in their system and said it must be lost and to have NVC resend the case. When I called NVC back and asked to resend the case that is what got me to the supervisor and the unit manager who are now helping with name checks personally.

So........ "NO" they were no help but a blessing in disguise for me by giving wrong information. Sorry to get off your original thought.

I called 202-663-1225 at least twice a week. One time the visa specialist asked my why I didn't e-mail the consulate with my questions. I explained to her the consulate was no longer taking e-mail questions and that they had a new imformation service system that you had to pay for. She said to not bother calling the consulate, but to call them instead. She said they were much nicer there, and that if I wanted to call them every day. I did just that week before last (called every day) and learned that my dear Ying's interview was scheduled for December 5th.

So don't be afraid to call, you get the same information the consulate can give you at the cost of a long distance call. :phone1:

Carl, when I called I had to listen to it seems like 10 minutes worth of recordings before I figured out which key to press.

Have you figured out a faster way to press the phone buttons to make this wait shorter? That might be helpful if you have.

Thanks for this, I will try this #. Anything would be better than the Visa call center. And just to correct a typo.....the # is 202 663 1225 (not 1255) :ok:

Ken does GUZ need to have the case in their hands before you can fax them?  Yours is still hung up at DHL, so you are not going to fax them yet I assume.

168203

Good question. And my answer is really no answer. I sent the fax after it was released from NVC. Yes, they do not have the hard file yet, but NVC once told me that they get the computer file immediately and electronically, but dont do anything with it until they get the hard file. So, I sent a follow up email asking if it was recieved, and all I got was

"Dear Petitioner,

Thanks for your email. We have received the new address"

So, do they have the address change? Yes, but really, I wonder, do they? :phone1:
