xian47
wife got her social security card in mail today and only took around 3 weeks.Anyway..does this mean we are off the hook from filing the I-765 (EAD) form? Link to comment
Dan R
Does the card say something like "not for work" or "for work with work authorization"? If it does it can only be used for the I-9 by an employer if accompanied by the EAD. If it shows no restriction and she has another photo I.D. such as driver's license or state id card then she can now get a job. I am in charge of hiring at our company and the law requires these to be accepted without having to show a "green card". Link to comment

Dan R
In this case you need the EAD first, well it is always worth a try. Link to comment
ghall20
I got my wife Social Security card applacation turned in last friday. I also applied for her son who is 18. They said my wife will get her card in the mail in two weeks and the sone in four to five weeks..... They said they could not mail these at the same time... I thought this odd.. what if I had took one each to a differant window??? how would they know other than mailing address.... Link to comment
