LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD

Recommended Posts

Ok all, this just in from my email box.

As of 9:30am EST, I haver recieved numerous replies from almost every senetor's offices, & from 8 TV Stations from accross the USA. They all had one major simularities.

Each one, (especially the Senators, Govonors) if we really want for Congress to stand up & take note of our situation, then each & every one of us in whom it is, has or will affect, we all need to basicly send the same thing to our very own Goverment Official from our respected state that we live in. But do not just send it to one. To get your letter noticed, (Better chances) You would have a greater chance by submitting the letter to your Governor, Senator, & Congessman.

The reason for this is because they all have that one chain of command, and each one has to stay in touch with the other in order to get the best all around.

So, here is a copy of what I had sent to them earlier. You may want to add to it of your own experiances, or what ever. But as Congesman Burgess had said to me, "Please be sure that ALL OF OUR correspondace needs to be basicly the same & on the Same Issue".

I will be including a link to where you may find your Senators Email addresses so as to make it a little easier for you. But what ever you do, DO NOT JUST SIT THERE THINKING SOMEONE ELSE WILL DO IT FOR YOU!!! TO MAKE THIS THING ISSUE TO GET NOTICED, EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US MUST STEP UP & SEND THE SAME MESSAGE

NOW, THE LETTER'S

Dear Sirs

I've always admired your relentless search for truth

in governmental issues. . With that in mind I wish to

call your attention to the deplorable American

Consulate in Guangzhou China, and reference the

arrogant bordering on hostile attitude they often

subject Americans to when they try to immigrate their

legitimate fiancées through the l fiancee visa

process. These are honest sincere Americans who are in

bona fide relationships, and have met all requirements

posted on USCIS and other official immigration related

websites. This consulate has one of the worst

reputations in the world. This consulate often does

not follow its own guidelines, such as notifying

petitioners of actions in a timely fashion. They are

excessively clandestine, usually communicating with

petitioners only through e-mail or a pay per call

information bank established in China. Most domestic

telephone information(here and at the consulate

itself) is accessed through the telephone menu systems

that rarely, if never) give any useful information.

It's all endless delays. A process that is supposed to

take 8 or 9 months can easily turn into a 14 month to

18 month nightmare fraught with multiple variations in

policy practice. It seems this government body fails

to comply with its own rules, as if they are

deliberately trying to make the idea of fiancee

immigration uninviting and difficult as possible...an

attitude that is contradiction to Americas “ open door

policy"..

Even after completing all name and security checks,

and the after a final “successful” interview, this

consulate has the gall to tell fiancees they are

approved for their visa , only to turn them down the

very next day when the fiancee returns to pick up it

up!!..You can imagine how devastating , humiliating,

and unjust this is…. its just plain wrong!! .

There are many other horror stories to be shared

regarding this consulate, and there are multitudes of

honest, law-abiding, compliant Americans and their

fiancees getting treated like second class citizens by

their own government.

If you wish for in an in depth understanding, I

suggest you visit www.candleforlove.com...an on-line

community of Americans going through the

aforementioned process. Log on and ask any question

you like…You will receive plenty of info from people

at different stages of the process.

Covering the topic of fiancée visas now would be

timely, appropriate, and put the spotlight squarely on

the absolute “trainwreck” that is the American

consulate in Guangzhou, Guangdong China.

I understand things are stricter since 9-11, but the

in the broadest sense, government is utilizing that

unfortunate event as a blanket excuse for all their

inconsistency, indifference, delays, and incompetence.

Americans attempting to accomplish immigration of

loved ones legally deserve better treatment and more

answers.... Real threats to our national security

continue to filter through our borders with relative

ease, while consulates like the one in Guangzhou

routinely "terrorize" innocent couples with needless

red tape ..As a proud American I salute our flag

rather than use it as a blanket to cover all my

shortcomings.....Guangzhou must eventually come clean

and deal with honest petitioners and beneficiaries in

a more dignified and respectful manner.

Contact me at my e-mail if you find the aforementioned

topic worthwhile for your show…I would certainly

appreciate any opportunity to speak with you

personally.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Below is a copy of an email that was sent to the

person who's responcibility is to see that we get fair

treatment in this case. As of today, we have yet to

hear even a thank you. Therefore, I, on behalf of our

Online Community Group, we are comming to you and

begging for your help.

Sincearly,

The Candle For Love Online Community

Dear Ms. Harty:

We are writing to you as members of “Candle For Love”

a growing online community of nearly 2,000 law

abiding, taxpaying U.S. Citizens. We are joined

together by the common bond of a lengthy and

unpredictable wait to receive immigrant visas for our

spouses, fiancé(e)s and children. The purpose of this

letter is to address a few of the current immigrant

visa processing issues at the American Consulate in

Guangzhou. These issues have caused, what we feel are

unnecessary hardships for our loved ones and us. We

ask that you take a moment to read our honest and

concise assessment of the current situation and of

some problems that exist. We ask that you consider

possible solutions.

1) Wait Times for K1 & K3 Visas:

The wait time for the K-1 Fiancé(e) visa and K3 Spouse

visa, being processed at the U.S. consulate in

Guangzhou, is the longest in the world. Our members

wait an average of 13-months without a good reason or

an understanding as to why it takes so long. We would

deeply appreciate your help in investigating, why this

particular consulate has such long delays. Perhaps you

can better help us to understand this situation,

especially when considering K type visas processed in

most U.S. consulates around the world are completed

significantly faster than those processed at the U.S.

consulate in Guangzhou.

China has the world’s largest population. Isn’t it

time that a country of this size and importance has

more than one consulate to handle immigrant visas?

There are countries of smaller populations and less

immigrant demand, which utilize multiple U.S.

consulates for this purpose.

Recently, some of our members have had the pleasure of

hearing you speak in Beijing about the improvements in

handling student and business visas from China.

Typically, over 180,000 student visas per year are

processed and issued in a matter of days or weeks. We

are sure that you would consider the petitions of U.S.

citizens for their loved ones, to be at least of equal

priority as those from Chinese citizens.

2) Denials without appeal:

In our opinion, many of our member’s spouses and

fiancé(e)s are being denied visas for no apparent

reason. After the denial, the U.S. citizen is not

permitted an opportunity to consult with a member of

the IV Unit to help resolve the issues related to the

denials. The specific reason for the denial is often

unstated and unknown. Your help in resolving this

communication deficit would be greatly appreciated.

3) White Slips changed to Blue Slips:

There are a growing number of cases where white

acceptance slips are being given to the wife or

fiancé(e) of a U.S. Citizen upon completion of the

interview. When they return the next day to pick up

their visa, they instead receive a blue rejection slip

and no visa. This is done without explanation or

consultation. This is very confusing to all of us in

the “Candle For Love” online visa community. We would

like to give our support to your visa officers. This

becomes increasingly difficult however, when they

overrule themselves with no apparent or stated reason.

In our opinion, this reflects negatively on the

consulate staff. Again these cases directly affect the

lives and futures of US Citizens and their loved ones.

The above listed items are simply a few of the issues

we wish to bring to your attention at this time.

We ask for no special treatment. We ask only for the

same and equal consideration, care and service, that

anyone requesting a visa in China would and should

expect. As the U.S. consulate in China is considered

to be U.S. soil, we ask that everyone who enters be

treated with the basic human rights of dignity,

respect, and non-discrimination that is fundamental to

our way of life.

We appreciate you taking time out of your busy

schedule to read about our concerns. Collectively, our

members have a wealth of information about the family

visa process and how it interfaces with the U.S.

consulate at Guangzhou. If there is anything that we

can do to assist you in your monumental task, please

feel free to contact us at any time.

Respectfully,

The Members of “Candle For Love.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PLEASE!!! EVERYONE!! I BEG OF YOU, IF EACH ONE OF US WILL DO OUR INDIVIDUAL PLEA TO AT LEAST 4 OF EACH OF THE 6 CATAGORIES LISTED ABOVE (congress, govornors, tv, newspaper, radio, AND THE PRESIDENT HIMSELF, THERE WILL BE NO REASON IN THE WORLD FOR OUR VOICE NOT TO BE HEARD

I know this is getting attention as my email boxes are beginning to fill up, so you can just imagine what kind of attention our case will get if we all do our small part

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just so that we can keep track of what is being done, if you would, please leave your information as to who, what, where & when that you contacted. This way we will have a record to show, (Should we get called before the house of Senate) just how important this issue is.

Thanks

JT

For some Odd reason, it seems there has been a duplicate of the orriginal posting, Let Our Voices be Heard

As for all of the different Visas, I am trying to to this as a whole and not trying to single any one in paticular out. I feel that if we do the entire process as a whole, we would have a far better chance at getting the entire thing a whole new second look as a process.

As for the responces, I am getting Great responces. To see, just click on the link above or see the Duplicate post, as it appears that it is getting far more responces.

Thanks for everyone beginning to take a stand. Together, we CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
