aquach
Anyone know how long it takes to go from getting a GUZ case number until the consulate sends out the P3. All the cases I have seen recently are people who received their P3 in Oct or Nov so I wanted to see if we had any recently approved people who are waiting for NVC or the consulate to move onto the next step. I got approved by USCIS 2/15 and NVC assigned case number 2/23. However I understand we (people petitioning through China) have to wait longer than other people for the interview. Maybe we can start a posting of people who are waiting for their interview who got approved in 2005? I know that all opinions are estimates as we do not know the mysterious ways things are processed but a guess will be better than nothing. Does the NVC hold to their 1 week philospophy for K1 visas as suggested by the Udall observations and notes? Thanks for the answers and opinions. Link to comment

sawadee
As for K1, I think the name checking will be done after the GUZ No., takes about 2 weeks to 3 months, depends. Then the case will be forwarded to GZ, if you are lucky, your DHL parcel wont need to be cleared at the Customes House. In most cases, your case are sent together with others so the DHL parcel exceeds 1 kg so it needs to be cleared, which usually takes 1 month. After your case arrives GZ, your scheduled to interview, for K1, it usually take 3 month for you to get a P4, in which will indicate your interview date(usually 1 month later).I am not a K1, if I am wrong, pls correct me. Luo_Bin_&_Jialu
My case was sent on Feb3. It sat in clearance delay until March 6--at least 3 of the 4 that were sent on that day cleared--one is still in clearance delay. It seems as if the average wait is between 40-50 days between NVC sending and GZ shipping P3. There are many strings based on your question. It wouldn't take too much time to search this site to find some good recent ones. Link to comment
boba
My case was sent by row boat in September. The P3 showed up in November. Link to comment
nooneufo
Average number of days for the last 20 CFL'ers : NVC to P3 is 42 daysP3 to P4 is 120 daysP3 to Interview is 164 days. In the past six months: Shortest time from NVC to P3 is 31 daysLongest time is 111 daysAverage time is 50 days. Longest verified wait time of P3 to Interview is 184 days. The shortest is 143 days. Total time average from NVC to Interview is 210 days based on data from Visa Journey stats. I should add though if you are a K3, these times may not apply, maybe. If you are pregnant, these time may not apply. If you are DCF, these times may not apply. If you find out who is taking bribes these time may not apply. The average I use for P3 is in this order, P3 entered in computer, P3 arrives in Guangzhou from Beneficiary, Beneficiary sent P3, and P3 received. The first being the most accurate. Link to comment
John & Hai Yan
Longest verified wait time of P3 to Interview is 184 days.Yeah this sounds like my timeline. 184 days from the time the P3 was entered into the computer, but 202 days from the date it was sent back to GZ. As of today only 10 more days and a wakeup. Of course this does not count our friends who are have been waiting more than six moths in the dreaded namecheck black hole. Hope you guys and gals here something soon! Link to comment
rogerluli
My case was sent by row boat in September. The P3 showed up in November. Row boat !!! And I thought they were just put in bottles and dumped in the ocean off SF. Link to comment
ed and ying
I was not sure what was proper location to drop bottle. East Coast - West Coast ??? Pray that your bottle does not get caught in one of those submarine wakes - nobody knows where they go. They leave from east and west coast - so equal chance for delay!!! Link to comment
