turtle
So I sent out the application a couple weeks ago, including a $385 fee for the I-485 + Biometrics. And now I get the package back in the mail, saying I've overpaid! So I guess k1s really don't need the extra round of fingerprinting after all... Back out today with $315. Link to comment
ghall20
Maybe that is the old price..Mine was 315.00 for the I-485EAD was 175.00finger prings was 70.00 my checks got cashed geo Link to comment
turtle
I love how different offices have different requirements. I fully expect to get the file returned at some point asking for that $70! Link to comment
tywy_99
It's not that new if you look back at some of the old posts dealing with this issue. Some offices take the fees.......some do not.Mick and donahso can attest to that. Link to comment
warpedbored
What is odd is that George, Jim and I all filed the same place. they had to pay the finger print fee I didn't. Link to comment
Trigg
Did you send two seperate checks?? Possibley you sent one check. In that case you did overpay. Supposed to send one for I-485 and one for biometric crapola. Link to comment
oregonknl
Yeah, Well the fingerprint fee (70 smakers) is needed now in Portland... And yes, every aspect of your AOS fees must be in seperate checks... And no, don't go down to INS -- Portland (or whatever ithey call it now...) to "discuss the matter" --- because now, you can't get in without an appointment... (actually, we haven't been turned away on that last point because I was there to "discuss the matter" before the new rule went into effect.... but its there now!) Link to comment
Jim - Portland, USA
And now I get the package back in the mail, saying I've overpaid! These people are unbelievable. They're just a bunch of clowns. Perhaps literally? They're filled with jokes and non-sense, and sometimes they really make me laugh. I wonder if they are clowns?? Go to work everyday wearing rainbow wigs, big red noses, oversized pants and clown shoes. Tooting horns and spraying water in people's faces. Hmm Anyway, as a recap to what happened to us, they returned all our AOS stuff, saying that our $315 wasn't enough, they wanted $70 more for the fingerprints. I wrote them a letter saying no way because all of their own written instructions say it's not necessary. Still haven't heard anything back yet, not one way or the other. Link to comment

turtle
It is interesting. I see I made a mistake in only sending one check for $385. But they sent back a very "official-looking" checksheet, with 2 items checked off. 1. Overpaid.2. Fingerprinting not required for k1 holders. It's too bad that in my rush I didn't take the time to copy this checksheet before sending it back. Might have come in handy later if I get asked for this... Link to comment

warpedbored
I'm busting a gut here George. Way to funny. Have you considered a carreer in comedy? Link to comment
oregonknl
Actually, Carl, I'm with George... ..fail to see the humor... think you owe all of us "chumps" who had to pay the fingerprint fee.. Link to comment
warpedbored
The way I look at it they owed us an easy AOS after 6 months waiting for NOA-2 and the blue slip at the first interview. Link to comment
