Mengxin
Good news. Hey by the way...Our wedding day is a day after yours. We wanted to get married the 12th also, but the dudes in the marraige office in Quzhou took the day off to go fishin' or something. It wasn't official until the next day... Thursday The 13th. If the Friday the 13th is an unlucky day in the US it must be a lucky day in China. Seems like everything is opposite. Maybe that explains the attraction Link to comment
kfman
Actually we should have been married the 11th, but when we went to the office, I had no idea what a certificate of eligabilty was... so I took my divorce paperwork to the secretary of state for PA, then brought that... ummmm wrong move. So we had to go to GZ to the embassy, and could not get married until the following day... boy did I feel like a dunce. Of course, I did go to the chinese embassy in NYC, and got my divorce paperwork translated to chinese... Anyway... we are on our way, and I am glad you are too. Link to comment
frank1538
Congratulations. I'm a little confused though. Are you saying that NVC has cleared your paperwork and sent it on to GZ or that GZ has sent out the P3? The difference can be a month or so in wait time. Link to comment
tonymasiello
I share that confusion! Why was your P3 sent to NVC? Link to comment
kfman
The packet we received from NVC the second time was the P3. Or so it stated on the paperwork. It included the DS230 (is that right? where you fill only page one, but cannot download it?) and a photocopy of her passport, and a form in chinese she filled out. According to the personel at NVC, when I called and asked, it was the P3. Maybe because we filled out a form which told NVC to send everything to me as her agent.... As I write this post now, I double checked the copies I have in my file here, and it says in small writing in the corner of one of the forms... (P3 packet). Was I wrong? God ..... hope not.. hahahah.. then I will have to wait again. This packet was sent after I already completed the I864, and all other required paperwork, then I got the DS230 part 1, etc etc.. Hmmmmmmmm Link to comment
tonymasiello
Bahan, are you doing a CR-1? Perhaps I'm just not familiar enough with the process for that... Link to comment
Mengxin
Fellas, For CR1 reference click the hyperlink in my signature. It's been right on so far.The link says...Packet 3 will usually consist of the following: DS-2001 (or OF-169 or UK/85) -- This is the main set of instructions. It is also a checklist of items required for the interview. OF-167 -- information sheet about financial responsibility. DS-230 (or OF-230 Part 1) -- biographical data sheet. DS-156 -- Nonimmigrant visa application form You may or may not, at this time, receive medical exam information, and a list of required immunizations. I thought the I-864 affidavit of support was included also. I know it's coming next, along with the 230.In this case I perceive Bahan is sane... (I like that quote.) Link to comment
kfman
Thanks my friend. Included in my package was a list of required immunizations, all the paperwork she will need for the embassy, ie police records, etc etc.. and I believe it said that she should have all this prepared for her interview. My perspective has changed several times today.. hahahahhaa... I will call my piao liang Lao Po tonight when I wake her up for work, and ask her to email me a copy of that form just to verify.. It is a CR1 visa....Thanks all... Link to comment
