Can anyone explain reason for GIV-24

My fiancee told me she was working on the forms for our interview. She was trying to complete a form called GIV-24. I have never seen this referenced anywhere except donahso's link for P3 and P4. I am just wondering if anyone knows the purpose of this form? I know it asks for petioner's (me) family information (parents, siblings, etc.), but can someone explain why GZ needs to know MY family? It is easy enough to provide info, but gee whiz, what do they do with all this stuff?

Your post reminds me of when Kai was filling out this form, i had to call and ask my family for addresses and what not. My mom got really freaked out about this, worried that my deceased dad's ex was going to somehow be contacted by the gov't which would then start a gossip ring about my mother!
