  1. Okay, here is what I did and we had NO problems. My fiancee got her medical exam in Beijing. They took all the forms she had prepared from the P4 packet and sealed them in an envelope along with the medical exam results(except the x-rays). They did not include the actual visa fee receipt in the package, but they did make a copy of it and her passport and put in the sealed package. I had not yet sent her my I-134 info, but brought it to China with me to be used by her at the interview. It doesn't make sense that the the I-134 should be sealed by the medical office when the VO may ask the SO for the financial information and look at it during the interview. My fiancee carried the fiancial documents to the interview along with all the other information we thought they might want to look at (phone bills, photos,etc.). The VO asked for it specifically. The visa fee receipt had to be shown when my fiancee first arrived inside and was given a number to wait. Think about the process and it will be obvious that the I-134 should be carried separately.
  2. I thought I would post my fiancee's questions from the interview with the VO on Jan 4. It has now been a couple of days since the interview so we have finally floated back down to earth. Sorry for the delay, but celebrations comes first!!! VO was a middled aged man, and kept looking at his watch during the interview. VO:Can you speak in English? SO: Yes, of course. VO: (to translator) I will not need you for this one. SO: (hands passport to VO along with USC passport) VO: Oh, you left fiance outside? SO:(nodded yes) VO:How many times your fiance come to China? SO:3 VO:How do you know each other? SO:We met on the internet. VO:Does he have any brothers or sisters? SO: Two brothers. VO:What's his parent's names? SO:**** and ****. VO: What's his job? SO:***** VO:What's your fiance's full name? SO:******* VO:Where does he live? SO:****** VO:Give me financial support. SO:(Hands him the I-134 form) VO:Where is your previous husband? SO:In ****** VO:After your divorce, do have contact with him? SO: no. VO: Do you have any children? SO: no. VO:When will you get married? SO: As soon as possible after we arrive in America. These are our (her) best recollections of the questions. Hope others will be helped by this. Craig
  3. My fiancee came out of the consulate at about noon GZ time with a big smile on her face and a white slip in her hand! After a year of waiting, we are over the big hurdle. She had about 10 questions, all of which she handled very well. She said she only saw one girl crying so I guess today was a good day for almost all those K'ers in GZ!!! Best wishes to all those with interviews soon! Craig
  4. I am leaving next week to be with my fiancee for her interview on the 5th of Jan. After all goes well with my fiancee's interview, we are planning a return to the US later in Jan. Presently my tickets are set to return through Detroit POE. Does anyone have any experience with them? Craig
  5. My fiancee told me she was working on the forms for our interview. She was trying to complete a form called GIV-24. I have never seen this referenced anywhere except donahso's link for P3 and P4. I am just wondering if anyone knows the purpose of this form? I know it asks for petioner's (me) family information (parents, siblings, etc.), but can someone explain why GZ needs to know MY family? It is easy enough to provide info, but gee whiz, what do they do with all this stuff? Craig
  6. P3 returned to GZ on June 21. No idea when it was logged into system. Received P4 on Nov 19. Interview Jan 5, 2005 8:00 a.m. Craig
  7. I expected anywhere from 9 months to 15 months. Based on conditions at the time I filed the I129F with TSC, I was fairly confident that 10 months was likely. What I have learned is that EVERY case is different and you cannot become overly optimistic nor deeply depressed when "things don't go your way" or go along the timelines you expected. I mailed off the package to TSC on Jan 5, 2004. My fiancee will have the interview on January 5, 2005. While it is disappointing that we will not be spending Thanksgiving or Christmas together this year, it is equally exciting to know that I will be celebrating the New Year with her and 2005 will mark a new beginning for both of us. Craig
  8. I am about to make another trip to China at the end of December. This hopefully will be the trip where she comes back with me. Right now we are not certain of exactly when we want/need to return. I would like to buy a one-way ticket over, and then finalize the return tickets after I get there and we see how things go with packing/family good-byes, etc. I was told today by an airline ticket agent that I must have a return trip ticket. Can any one share their experiences with this? Can I get a one-way to China and then make arrangements from there? What did others do to get their SO from China to here when the time came? Thanks,
  9. I see lots of references to "logged into the computer" but I have never seen how people are getting that info. Are they calling DoS that often to keep updated or are they signed up online? I guess for me it was enough to know they were working on the file and I should be patient and wait my turn. (Not saying I didn't think about ALOT!!!)
  10. Lee, My timeline looks like this.... Jan 5,2004 Filed 129f to TSC Jan 13,2004 Received NOA1 April 12,2004 NOA2 approval April 27,2004 NVC forward to GZ June 11,2004 GZ receives (we think) June 20,2004 P3 received June 21, 2004 P3 returned Nov 16, 2004 E-mail to consulate receives reply with interview date Nov ??,2004 Receive P4 Jan 5, 2005 Scheduled interview date according to e-mail.
  11. I have been reading these posts from those of you who have P3s in July and would like to give you some hope if I can. Our P3 was returned to GZ in late June (don't know when it was "logged in" to the computer), around the 22nd. We just found out by e-mail on Tuesday (16th) that our interview date had been set for Jan 5 . We saw several late June couples get December interviews and were getting nervous, but it seems GZ is staying fairly consistent over the last 4-5 months, IMHO. All I can say is have patience, it goes different for each application, and nothing is predictable in this crazy world of immigration Craig
