Until June of 2004, I was a college student with a very small income. But since September, I was hired at a nice school district with a good salary and benefits. So I can definitely take care of my fiance.

 

My problem is that my true income will not show up on my 2004 tax return... because I started working in September. Are there other ways to demonstrate my ability to support my SO?

 

Will the DOS consider my pay stubs? And can I have my family members co-sponsor her?

 

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

u better find a co-sponsor to file I-134 seperately.

You will need a co sponsor unless you can show that you have enough assets to cover the difference.

Thanks for the good advice. Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of co-sponsors that my SO can have. I am thinking about asking both my parents and my brother.

I thought that you only needed enough co-sponsors to make it above the legal lower limit.

 

And this is not something to be taken lightly. A co-sponsor can be held legally responsible to pay for her care if something is to happen. This is something that should be discussed carefully, and involve as few people as possible (IMHO).
