ndjarrett
Get your U.S. Senator and U.S. Congressman involved. They can inquire on your behalf and determine what the delay is. Most likely, you only have ONE of the TWO parts of the name check done. After 5 months, your Senator or Congressman should be able to push it to get done (mine did). Link to comment

keelec
Your case is just odd. Remember, the FBI (nor anybody else) will ever tell you what the conclusions of your name check actually were. They will just say that the namecheck has been completed. Of course, I would presume that you would know if there was anything that should be concerning in your background (generally from previous trips to the USA). If your wife is a US Citizen, then she must have a "residence" in the USA. Look up "Domicile" on the Candle. Contact the representatives and senators that represent her at the place of her residence. If she is a US Citizen, and a resident of a state in the USA (no matter where she is, or how long she has been out of the country), then she can vote absentee in National elections.... THEY ARE STILL HER REPRESENTATIVES. I am sending another phone number at DOS to try, PM. ---- Clifford ----- Link to comment
mari
Going thru a visa process is like spending some time in hell before ever dying. Today I made my traditional Friday call to the DOS, the "visa specialist" (so knowledgable) said that the name check always takes 6 months, so that I should not hear anything about it being completed until next January. What's going on with our government??? Tell your wife to contact her congressman, we're dealing with bureaucracy here, and they just don't care how much time your case is delayed. It seems as your case is not following the normal path, it's so frustrating. Link to comment

In her defense, she did offer information I did not ask for. Of course it was because I already knew it. Still waiting for an interview date. Link to comment

DOS visa specialist hotline: 202.663.1225 then type 1,0 So, what is the number for GZ?You can find GZ number on their website, however it's useless. The Chinese operator wouldn''t put u through. If u ask connected to visa center, they will connect u to the Visa Center in Shanghai, which doesn't know anything about k1/k3 and so on. So GZ is pretty muchhopeless if u try to contact them by phone. Link to comment
